This is great Jesse Forrest Im an aspiring copywriter and a lot of jobs want you to have 1 to 2 yeas experience. I was surprised that you didn't have a degree of nay sort and you are as successful as you are in this field.
Thank you for your video, and I start to have the faith in beginning a copywriting job since watching your video and getting useful tips. Also, the great thing I have done that I could shift my work from different field of industry was that I did write... Diverse topics, styles, at different platforms, try as more as possible!
Man am I glad I found you on the web! The first time I even heard the word "copywriting" was (I think) on a billionaires' dating show and the chic stated that her profession was a copywriter. I write. And hearing the word caught my ear, especially knowing how lucrative it was for her. So, now I am in a bit of a crunch to make some moves in my life. And since then, this word copywriter has appeared and reappeared in my path over and over. I see jobs posted for it on craigslist and such. So my next thought was take to the tube, and find some more information on this mysterious craft. lol Thank you for your help in explaining, inspiring, and guiding me. I have always critiqued ads in my daily life and examined various elements of writing, and the art of persuasion, and story, that I trust may help me as I venture into this field of writing. I am encouraged and excited to begin by reading the books you recommended in your other video! Thanks!

Interesting you speak about The US. How do you know what language is used in their culture? Eg. In the U.K. a thong has different meaning to what Aussie's understand it. What about the difference between British and American English? I suppose that comes with experience.
Hi Jesse, I’m an American expatriate and a university English teacher in Taipei, Taiwan. I also teach online for a Chinese company that only hires American English speakers (US & Canadian). In my university teaching, I occasionally use a textbook that’s in British English, but it’s not hard for me to work with it. A question, then, because of my recent history: as a speaker of British English, is the variety of English a major concern in copywriting? Do you only work for British English companies (and I’m sure there are plenty!). Do you hire an editor if you have to work into American English? Thanks!
I'm very thankful for your advice, Jesse. I'm very interested in the career. However I'm not very confident if I can make it esp. with English being my second language. I'm aware it's good enough for communication, as I learned English since I was 4. Of course living in canada has dramatically improved my vocabulary, especially when it comes to slang, but I believe I still need to learn more. I'm 30, going back to school this fall to study marketing and international business management, which i chose to do switching from engineering, to know more about the market and secure a job in that field, as well as gaining knowledge in sales and marketing to improve my skills for researching and sales, which I believe can help if I decided to do copywtiting as a side business.
Do you recommend any further activities, beyond the great tips in this video?

I hope I am not wasting my money on these books and not get anything useful from these books is not going to sit too well with me.
Top 4 reasons why people don't start a Copywriting business
1. Lack of experience
Always do a lot of practice at night
Do a free copy for people
2. People believe there's too much competition
That's not true
There are a lot of businesses to go round
3. People fear leaving the comfort of their business
Start part time
Use 1-2 hours per day
4. They don't believe that clients will hire them
Event, seminar and public relation company need copywriters

Maybe apprehension instead of fear. Don't let apprehension stop you from moving on to what you want n life.
