It's funny how when you listen to the worship team at a predominately White church, you'll think the bass player is just an add-on. Like nothing important, just there to add a basic bass line. Aspiring musicians would walk away thinking that playing the bass isn't anything special and that they should focus on playing the electric guitar or something. But if they only knew what was possible on a bass guitar!!! People like Don Alford prove that there's so much more that can be done on musical instruments. I feel so alive when I attend predominately Black churches, listen to their worship teams and join them on stage as a musician and/or singer. It's literally a night and day difference from White churches, no pun intended.
