Oonjappara Aqueduct- An unexplored hang out destination, ideal place for one day trip for people at Ernakulam District, Kerala.
Kothamangalam is famous for the beautiful tourism destinations like Thattekad, Bhoothathankettu, Idamalayar and now Oonjappara Aqueduct gets added to the list.
The Oonjappara Aquadate carries water from Bhoothanthakettu dam. The clean and cold water stream is a source of great refreshment.
The location situates at Keerampara Panchayat, Kothamangalam. Nedumbassery airport is just 40 km (25 mi) from Keerampara and the nearest railway station is Aluva which is 35 km (22 mi) from Keerampara. To reach Keerampara we have to take the Kothamangalam-Thattekad route. After reaching Keerampara, we can find a canal of fresh water stream, take a right turn, a 100 meters from there we reach our destination.

It’s just 7km from Kothamngalam town. Take the Kothamangalam-Thattekad road, to Keerampara, after 1km from there, take right to the Oonjappara Aquadate. It’s a part of a long canal, so always better to ask the natives for the route than relying on Google map for the correct spot.
