I usually give abandoned lambs to a good friend of mine who raises them using them for her petting zoo. It really works well, because people get a feeling for the animal, not just the product!
I think you misunderstood the meaning, or else your joking but it means the mother abandoned her own lamb. It can be for a variety of reasons. Bad mothering, sometimes she has too many lambs, sometimes another sheep that's close to lambing steals a lamb and mothers it herself until she lambs herself. It can be pretty chaotic at 3am in a shed full of 200 sheep!!
so CUTE!! belly up to the bar... i'm not vegetarian, but i don't eat lamb. I don't like it for one thing...and i hate the idea of eating cute baby lambs.
Now now there is nout wrong with a bit of Lamb chop! Its simple if you dont want them to die dont eat lamb! Its your personal choice and it is also the personal choice of the guy who initially commented which we should respect!
I suppose if one is realistic, most farm animals would not ever even be born / exist if they were not ultimately to be eaten or their skin used or their wool made into cloth. I don't really like lamb either, bacon is my thing!
@AnElephantThatPaints I have, but my family owns a ranch in Texas or Mexico. I ate lamb and veal. Taste good. P.S. I have no sympathy for what I eat sometimes . I'm a wolf .

I think they are just being fed in the petting farm and not necessarily abandoned.

I, took a lamb to kindergarten, and let all the kids feed with large, coke bottle with a nipple on it! I,was given the lamb as a 5th birthday gift.
+Lachlan Bird sounds great!

You know if the lambs were abandoned how'd they survive theres wolves out there that eat the lamb even if it was born a few seconds ago.
their mothers can abandon them, especially if they're first time mothers

If I could give you any money, I would so you can go and buy yourself a new personality.
That's a good looking steak...
I don't agree with petting zoos, you really shouldn't play with your food.
