Have been in Scotland several times staying in one farm on lochh Rannock These videos remind me of the😢wonderful time with the farmers family with3 boys (triplets!!)they had 3 dogs operating in the fields (One time the female had about 8 puppies . I was allowed by her to seat by her side znd the little ones climbing on me for cuddles ...the farmer was not far for my security as they are quite fierce when it comes to guard their babies znd sheeps

In my humble opinion, there is nothing more beautiful than sheep dogs working at the hands of a loving shepherd. Since I was a girl of seven years, when I got to see sheep worked in New Zealand, I have loved nothing more. I taught myself to spin, weave, knit and crochet. I owned a small flock of 4 ewes and had a boarder collie that needed no training. She just naturally did what I thought in my mind for her to do. This was the best time of my life. You are very blessed, Sean.

Just like the US has incredibly beautiful geographical areas along with the horrendous problems we currently face, so do most western countries with weak leaders.

Working animals are happiest doing what they supposed to do. This and the Budweiser Clydesdales are great examples of the beautiful nature of working animals
Even if they dont have a herd they will find something to do. For instance, I owned and lived in a huge junkyard with hundreds of cars and trucks, people would come to look for parts, I just left them to go off and find them themselves. My border collie, even as a young pup, started herding people down which ever pathway she wanted them to go, if you tried turning off her path you got a swift nip on the heal.Ha ha ha it was so funny

I knew a pair of Birder Collies, old Sam and crazy Sky... Sky would herd the horses in the stalls.... the horses were contained, and she thought she was helping....
That was wonderful to watch. Being from Canada my sister and I visited the Highlands of Scotland. Our hosts allowed their neighbours sheep to graze in one of their small fields. The farmer came with his dogs one day to move them and he put on a bit of a show for us! There was a mature dog and one in training. It was funny to watch. The mature one would stay low behind the sheep and the young one couldn’t resist popping his head up. Then he would run straight through the middle of the sheep scattering them and you could just imagine the deep sigh and eye rolling of the mature dog. It was amazing to watch these dogs in action and finally drive them through the top gate. One of our greatest experiences in gorgeous Scotland!
I am sorry for your loss. I have been through the unbearable grief for 4 times over the years. I have their pictures and flowers so I can talk to them every day. Some people say that the time will heal the grief but that haven’t happened for me yet.

I lost mine, just before his 14th birthday just over 2 years ago. I have another, who was born almost at the time Max died, who is a worthy successor in every way. Wonderful dogs.

You’ve just made me cry! My father was from Aberdeen, he loved it dearly. We lived abroad due to his job but we went back every 2-3 years. He taught us to love it too which wasn’t hard, though we I live in Florida now I still go back when I can but at 71 and not in the greatest health it’s not easy so I watch Sean instead. 💕🥰💕🥰💕

I planned a Scotland trip with my granddaughter to attend the Rattray Clan family reunion, and then Covid hit. Time to plan the trip again. What a beautiful rugged country. The dogs are amazing but so is the person that trained them.
Growing up in Arizona, we always had Australian Shepherds from my parents' best friends who are cattle ranches in the White Mountains. My dad was a doctor but we always had our own cattle and sheep, and our dogs would bring them in for their vet visits and if we were having a monsoon. We only had a few acres but it made the process a lot easier. Now I'm old and in California. No more cattle or sheep for me, but we've rescued corgis. We always bring them to the herding events. It's one of the best ways to help restore what has been taken from them through abuse and neglect. This was just beautiful to watch in every way. Happy man, beautiful countryside, wonderful dogs, well cared for livestock. To the ones who say they would trade lives with you, that's a big ask. You don't have a timeclock and you are on call for your animals 24 hours a day, rain or shine, sun or snow. I know I couldn't do your job and my hat is off to you.
I had to laugh watching Storm, he could not contain his excitement once he jumped onto the ATV back seat for them. It was contagious! How ready and willing he was to get to work. It truly warms your heart. 💕🥰💕🥰💕

A friend in Phoenix had two. After worrying they would be too bored, she took them to a nearby ranch where they herded sheep for recreation.

I planned a Scotland trip with my granddaughter to attend the Rattray Clan family reunion, and then Covid hit. Time to plan the trip again. What a beautiful rugged country. The dogs are amazing but so is the person that trained them.
Growing up in Arizona, we always had Australian Shepherds from my parents' best friends who are cattle ranches in the White Mountains. My dad was a doctor but we always had our own cattle and sheep, and our dogs would bring them in for their vet visits and if we were having a monsoon. We only had a few acres but it made the process a lot easier.
Now I'm old and in California. No more cattle or sheep for me, but we've rescued corgis. We always bring them to the herding events. It's one of the best ways to help restore what has been taken from them through abuse and neglect.
This was just beautiful to watch in every way. Happy man, beautiful countryside, wonderful dogs, well cared for livestock. To the ones who say they would trade lives with you, that's a big ask. You don't have a timeclock and you are on call for your animals 24 hours a day, rain or shine, sun or snow. I know I couldn't do your job and my hat is off to you.

I had to laugh watching Storm, he could not contain his excitement once he jumped onto the ATV back seat for them. It was contagious! How ready and willing he was to get to work. It truly warms your heart. 💕🥰💕🥰💕
