Destruction is a strong influence for Black Metal (imagine, Varg Vikernes is fan of Infernal Overkill and he´s always saying that metal´s shit and 99,9% of it is crap), influence, but definitely not-blackmetal on his own.
Aldaril Telvanni Venom has the same sound as Mötorhead, which is a "Heavy Metal kind of Rock And Roll". Venom just put the name there to be used, also invented the audio quality thing, but in music they didn't do much. And Sodom, yes, it might have some Black Metal style in many songs, but still it isn't entirely Black Metal. If the autors would be who determinates what genre of music they do, Mötorhead would be Rock And Roll, Burzum wouldn't be Black Metal, Black Sabbath would be Hard Rock (it is Metal, that is what the media called "Heavy Metal" in the 70's), and I can give many other examples.
***** Vikernes's ideals don't have a fucking thing to do with music, and you surely didn't even checke out her channel to say a shit about them. Bathory is Black Metal, Venom is NWOBHM; that is it. Nothing "punky" or "something/thrash" is true, not at all. Punk is shit, even if it influenced thrash bands, it is still shit. Black Metal, TRUE Black Metal, has a lot of musical content that has nothing to do with punk. Because of people like you is that Metal nowadays is so poor in music.

"They can't break our will We have the Pleasure To Kill We are Bonded By Blood Again they will rot!" That maybe from another song of theirs but they lived by those sentiments back then and even before those albums they referenced even existed. I'm glad they're still around purveying some of the finest German thrash metal ever.
In my youth I did not liten thrash metal to much. I was big death metal fan, but now, after 25 years I started discover what I lost. This album is so agressive so great. I always say, that only young and angry ppl can create that kind of masterpiece
This is such a great album. Back in the 80s, Destruction was one of the best thrash bands -- and still is! Eternal Devastation is on my list of top dozen thrash albums of all time. The riffs and guitar work on this is so intense and heavy.
I know Destruction is popular and well off also known as German thrash pioneers, but I don’t think they get the recognition they deserve for this black metal release. I always read about other bands helping out the first wave of black metal and I never really hear about Destruction. These guys were ahead of their time.
Timeless Thrash Metal at it's finest.I will be headbangin till my grave.Fires burning in his eyes. They could have sang every song in German i would have still loved them. You got to like the metal Afros.lol
They looked and sounded so badass on this. Fan since ‘96 but wish I could’ve discovered this sooner, grateful I had friends who introduced me to this back then.
My review on Allmusic.com written September 14, 2018. 5 Stars Originally released on Germany's Steamhammer label in 1984, Sentence Of Death is the debut release from the iconic Destruction. This great 5 song EP is a classic release featuring "Mad Butcher" and other great Thrash Metal. A seminal LP and a preview of the great stuff Destruction would soon unleash on us all. Also released in 1985 in the USA on Metal Blade with a different cover. Essential.
Probably one of the influincial band that bring us all the other type of today's metal. Was 13-14 when one of my older brother's friend made my listen to this as well as Slayer, Venom, Voivod ( that came from Quebec where I live ..french place in America...so be kind whit my grammatical error ) So long live metal and THANKS to these guys to have clear the way for others....
Yeap Venom, Mercyful Faith, Kreator, Hellowen , Bathory, Metal Church, Man O War, Nasty savage, Hallows eve, Death Angel, Hellhammer... All of them paved the way for the next wave of metal that came out in the 90 's
Totaly true..My brother ( 3 years older ) bought ( from columbia ) AC/DC and Styx at first ( I had 12 years ) then rapidly steped to Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, etc. And one of his school friend's got me into Slayer, Venom Destruction and the others.. After that I was gone on my own to discover all the large spectra of musical world. So many variation and good songs. And in mostly all styles. But some got more then other one...But I kept an open mind and it make me discover so good and unknow, under rated and rare things...... Music is one of the nicest thing on the planet ( sex and drug are in the package )... So it is not because you are listening to Venom that you can love Lou Reed or David Bowie.. As Conflict is good Paul Oakenfold and that it is true for the vast musical world.. Even Gaga can make one or two songs that are apealling to the ears. But ofteh last not musch as a Minor threat or Funker Volt.... A PROUND CANADIAN JUNKY OF SOUND AND MUSIC....
I love hearing these albums again on here. Have them on vinyl, but usually they're boxed, stored in the back of a cupboard, can't be arsed to get them out, and the record player stylus is fucked anyway. But yeah, Destruction were awesome. This was/is good, but i thought nowhere near as good as the following year's Infernal Overkill. 1985 was the year i was more excited about metal than i ever had been. And didn't notice it before, but anyone else think Black Mass is very very similar to Total Desaster in composition.
Trash classic! This and Sodom's "Persecution Mania" are my favourite trash albums. Stil have this on cassette, named as "Mad Butcher"(unofficial polish release). Super!
A friend of mine had a cassette of these guys WAY back in the day! I hadn't realized how much their music sounds like Kreator!! Definitely an influential band!!!
Destruction and Sodom were tops! Sodom’s drummer was more sloppy, barely pulling of his drum own fills, lol, but fucking loved it. I had the green cover version of this EP with them lying on the grave. I had no idea what it was other than it looked black metal. I bought it purely based on the cover. I spun the shit out of this record. The early black metal bands were the best. So much more original than what I see today. The music/bands were way more crude. The way I like it.
Siempre recordando a Los musicos Buenos alemanes y. Tambien recordando en nuestro pais a Georgy lazarov y su revista rock pop gracias a sus colabodares conocemos estas bandas

***** And I NEVER said that Venom stole from Bathory, learn to read first, then you can say whatever you want.

1. Total Disaster
I was born in a dark winter night
thunder and lightning greeted me
now it's the time to begin to fight
kingdom of heaven, I can't see
My home is the bloody hell
at the place where Satan rules
the world is now like a big shell
the fire of hell will destroy the fools
[CHORUS:] I can never trust the virgin preacher
I can never believe in Jesus Christ
It's all right 'cause Satan is my teacher
people hidden them when we arised
I command and you get down on your knees
we sacrifice infants on Satan's order
come taste blood, our living grease
headless bodies found, one is your daughter
2. Black Mass
I kneel in front of the altar
it's covered with flowers
I pray to lord Jesus
and contess my sins
I hear a scornful laughin'
voices sound through the silence
the organ plays by oneself
hell what's happen here
I look around and scare
skulls lie on the black altar
all crosses turned
green blood drops from the walls
[CHORUS 1:]
Demoniac monsters grin at me
all over signs of the evil
a man with a black coat floats over me
glowin' eyes stare in the distance
Total calm the figure raise the voice
our master is angry
we must appease him
you're chosen be happy
[CHORUS 2:]
Panic takes me I run to the gate it's open
nobody stops my rout
don't be so stupid
you can not escape
I awake only a dream
bathed in perspiration
a scornful laughin' sounds
a phantom floats over me
'You can't escape'
3. Mad Butcher
Mad Butcher
A fire is burning in his eyes
his brain is in war and the evil will rise
his blood is black, it's scalding hot
now he's got to ramble,
he knows that's his lot
[CHORUS:]
Through the Blackstreets of the town
his steps are clanging
now he's wanton, oh he's panting
in his hand a blade of solid steel
now it's the time you got to feel
Mad Butcher
He feels his driving, satisfaction he needs
he's watching you pussy, he will get his food
and when he arises you think it's a lover
but he likes strange practices, you'll discover
You lie on your bed, your view real seems great
but instead of his prick,
he's drawing his blade
oh he's so tender, when he makes love to you
that you couldn't stand it,
it's a pitty for you
4. Satans Vengeance
Witches been slaughtered at the stakes
they've been burned, 'cause
they were in league with Satan
people delighted themselves
when this creatures burned painfully
Witches decided to take vengeance
Satan sent a legion of poisoned rats
the warriors of death and most evil inhuman
[CHORUS:]
The sentence of death
drives you to despair
God can't help ya
you shoveled your own grave
Now the mortal is in the bondage of Satan
Without mercy they persecuted people
got a place in hell reserved for you
5. Devils Soldiers
Eternal Darkness a ripper approaches
he returns from his mission
he has only one target
death and destruction
[CHORUS:]
You never see him
you never hear him
you don't know his name
you don't know where he comes from
if you encount him, run for your life !
Death line his way
sword and axe are his weapons
his fame hurries on ahead
he leaves anxiety and terror
His master expects him
he doesn't tolerate failures
his power is vast
he's a lot of names
call him reverential
the evil one
Brian Namtar Epic! 🤘🏻
Brian Namtar thanks 👊
No need to print the lyrics, Schimer has perfect diction. 😂
metaldams78
Mille Petrozza, also. Pleasure to Kill was a fave but I could only clearly decipher the chorus (title) for years😳
Bad Brain71, I can get a few lines of Pleasure to Kill without a lyric sheet, but not much.
Destruction and Kreator both are great, and for me Sodom even more so. When they were young and barely knew English and sang extreme metal on top of it - all part of the fun.
FUK YES!! I remember DESTRUCTION!!! When they came to fenders long Beach CA For The VERY FIRST TIME!!!circa 85/86 AWESOME SHOW!!! Still have My records of "sentence of death" & "infernal overkill"AFTER "release from agony" they kinda flat lined... 🤘👹🤘
when it comes to thrash them germans know what there doing!
Blake L they’re*
Yes, they do
We dont know much, but Thrash 👍 listen to Witchburner
@@matthiasfehrenbach9770 lol, Kreator, Sodom, Destruction, what else do you want?
@@dimifisher7942 Witchburner, Traitor, Torment Tool, Nuclear Warfare, Contradiction, Dust Bolt, Hatefull agony, Fatal Embrace, Contamination.... there are much better Bands than the "Big 3" in my opinion
i had this album. i was a fan of early speed metal bands and death metal too. this was among my favorites. i admit i took alot stuff when i was listening to this lol it was crazy. celtic frost (morbid tales) , possessed (seven churches) and destruction (sentence of death) were my companions during my trips.
Death scream bloody gore?
Death came later its funny the bands you mentioned except for possessed were all eps from 84 and Sodom sure you had their ep also excellent metal
Ah, teenage years. Metal forever!!
Schmier German/English pronunciation makes the songs stronger, 35 years now and still love how it sounds
wow i didnt think anything like this existed before the very late 80s this is amazing
39 yearsss 🔥😈⛓️🙌🤘Total Black, Death, Thrash Metallll the best album!the master Mike hellriffs and Tommy on the war drums along with Schmier's bass and his aggressive vocals!🥁🔥 🙌🙌🙌 Destruction !
Okay, this EP is like something unique in the heavy metal world!
But not for me ....
This masterpiece destroyed my life, washed down with alcohol, nicotine and marijuana ... Am I sad about it? No way !!!
This EP showed me how life can be so fucked up !!!
Listen to this EP together with In The Sign Of Evil by the band Sodom, it will be a unique experience !!!
I have the 1988 reissue vinyl I brought in 1992 it's an amazing album :and all you black speed metal maniacs who buy this fuckn thrash!, the real beginnings of black and death metal!
A real turning point in evolution of metal music. A true mildstone, wikk be remebernered as Chopin, Vivaldi. Bot for the same thing but for the innovation of music abd where it bring us....

From the future here, just saw these guys two days ago. 2022. Been waiting for 35 years, first time I heard them was 1988. Now I can die happy.
this ep is solid in fact i like this more than the infernal overkill album
Solid indeed but Infernal Overkill is a beast as well, probably the best thrash album
raptor jesus As much as I love infernal overkill, I have to agree
Infernal Overkill is so ahead of it’s time no comparison
@@TheStathis1985 nah, bonded by blood is the superior tyrash album
Mis favoritos del verdadero BIG FOUR. Aguante Destruction!!!!! Saludos desde Argentina,🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
"They can't break our will
We have the Pleasure To Kill
We are Bonded By Blood
Again they will rot!"
That maybe from another song of theirs but they lived by those sentiments back then and even before those albums they referenced even existed. I'm glad they're still around purveying some of the finest German thrash metal ever.
Classic Destruction! 🤘
Great album, another classic from the gods of thrash. Cheerz.
As far as production quality, I think Cracked Brain was their best album.
1. Intro 0:00 - Total Desaster 1:15
2. Black Mass 5:28
3. Mad Butcher 9:28
4. Satan's Vengeance 12:59
5. Devil's Soldier 16:15
this was one of the first metal albums i ever listened to as well as sodom and i still think its awsome
The most raw and nasty Ep of the era. Pure gold.
I know Destruction is popular and well off also known as German thrash pioneers, but I don’t think they get the recognition they deserve for this black metal release. I always read about other bands helping out the first wave of black metal and I never really hear about Destruction. These guys were ahead of their time.
I still think these are one of Destruction's finest, even better than Infernal Overkill, but that's me.
ALL HAIL DESTRUCTION!!!\m/\m/\m/THIS IS A TIMELESS CLASSIC!!!\m/\m/\m/LISTEN OR DIE!!!
the German Early Ep's from Thrash Bands still better than it's Debuts
First album I ever bought from these guys. Loved it then, still love them today!!!!
Still also got my original vynil copy now 55 and still listening whit my head banging roaaaaaarrrrrrrrr
This song is why...
I'm a Metal head.💀
Back in the 80s, when it came to riffs Destruction beat them all, and I mean Sodom or Kreator... and even Tankard.
Mr. Shifringer is the riffmaster !
Vc é loko mesmo kkkk só banda boa
That’s just your personal preference
"Guys that's not NEAR enough black, studs, spikes, bullets or inverted crosses, come back when you have 3x as much, then we'll talk."
***** LOL I'll let you have that talk with em'
Thank god there was a sale on army surpluses .3 bullet belts for the price of 2 , studs 50% off etc. etc..
My review on Allmusic.com written September 14, 2018. 5 Stars
Originally released on Germany's Steamhammer label in 1984, Sentence Of Death is the debut release from the iconic Destruction.
Alien_In A_Bubble And a surely forgot Celtic Frost, Sodom and many more.......
***** Yeah big time....but they seems to put a lot of effort to get their songs out off the tube....
The end is near
Lucifer´s Legions of death
Are ready for the attack
They've got only one aim:
TOTAL DESTRUCTION
what a intro 🤘🏻
Be destrwxion
Super!
I loved these guys as a teen , back in the day.
Beautiful and strongest masterwork!
yep!!!
A friend of mine had a cassette of these guys WAY back in the day! I hadn't realized how much their music sounds like Kreator!! Definitely an influential band!!!
Great band!!! The best metal band... Destruction!
All metal from this time frame was /// Is the best ever!
This record is epic!
A mis 61 años todavía este álbum es de lo mejor.
I remember when this came out still love it
Wow brings back middle school memories 😿🙀
Wow, what's a middle school
De lo mejor de destruction junto al infernal overkill y el eternal devastation
Sentence of death!!!!
Got this on original l.p. and alternate cover l.p. signed by mike and Schmier when i met them in Hollywood playing with vader... kick ass still to this day what a release!
My first Thrash Metal record \m/
Best German Band
my memories, the cassette tape back the day, just when released
and I am 13, again .... thanx
This was a great album when it came out. I bought it then. Wish I still had that album. Good to hear it again. You can hear the classical influence in the guitar solos.
Yeah I got this when it came out! Still jammin to it!
I listen to it and I trip such as when I was 15 c is a good listen toujour even after 30 yearI still remember like it was yesterday jones show the big slam sick
