    What are things you have done to make your iPad Pro experience better?

    • @Technolotea
      @Technolotea 4 года назад +7

      I bought a bluetooth keyboard and usb c hub to make my iPad Pro seem more like a computer. Using it with a monitor has been really cool, minus how it doesn't utilize the whole screen. Applications like Affinity Photo and Designer, Lightroom, and LumaFusion have definitely been a huge plus to have because of the power it has. Hopefully more PRO apps come to the iPad Pro

      Even though I appreciate your honest approach regarding your lack of graphic design skills, the Ipad Pro can be a very powerful tool for an artist and the ability to easily organize, share, remotely store and edit your graphic files would be a nice addition to this list. Thanks for the tips.

    While I use my iPad for most of my daily tasks, there are 2 reasons why I can't make it my only computer:
    1. The file system is better, but not great
    2. The Microsoft Office suite is very limited on the iPad. I can get tasks done, but it's limited

    • @OT4Tech
      @OT4Tech  4 года назад +31

      Yeah I can agree with these 2 things. This is why I think it’s important to have a desktop of some sort if the iPad is going to become a laptop replacement for travel.

    • @atimm9497
      @atimm9497 4 года назад +31

      I can deal with the Files app, but Microsoft Office being stripped down is the ONE reason I can't make my iPad a laptop replacement. When I need to make modifications in or between classes, I need the full version.

    Thanks so much - what a helpful video! After years with a 16 GB iPad (9.5 inches), I just stepped up to a brand new 256GB 2018 iPad Pro (11 inch), and this is one of the best resources I’ve found while crawling the web. I learned so much from your video - it’s informative, thorough, and very well paced. Will check out the links and your other vids, too.

    The Logitech Slim Folio Pro should be mentioned too. I prefer it over the Brydge & Apple iPad Keyboard because 1) it gives corner protection for your iPad, 2) it has function keys also, and 3) it has a little slot where you can store your Apple Pencil, so you don’t have to worry about it falling off the magnetic part of your iPad.
    There’s not a lot of cons with it other than it MAY be slightly bulkier than the other two listed in the video, but I’d prefer robust & functional. There’s also no touchpad, but this keyboard was released before Mac OS was released, but til now it is the best case in my opinion.

    I am for the iPad to have more and more Laptop hardware and Desktop OS functionality and abilities, but at the same time I do not want to see any sacrifices made to the *portrait* tablet part of the iPad which is what made the iPad so great in the first place.
    The iPad is simply the most modular Apple device ever. (and my personal favorite)

      @@safwansameer7847 that's not true at all dude. Payments on an ipad are like $35. For someone on a budget that needs a laptop for work or school, that can definitely fall within a budget easily. Everyone's situation is different and honestly most people in this country (US) are making next to nothing for a paycheck and that's just the reality. Yet people still have iphones. iPads. Etc. And sometimes it's a need and not a want. Especially for someone that needs something like this for work or school like I said. You can be poor and on a budget and still have an iPad. I'm glad you're so privileged to be able to make comments like that. You might need a wake up call.

    as someone who has always stayed away from Apple products i have to say that they almost baited me on this one. Almost. As soon as the MS Office support becomes more professional and support for "heavier" programs (like CAD and more professional Music production programs other than Garage Band) i will jump right into the iPad Pro world...cuz other than these 2 arguments i just mentioned, this thing is near perfection...and i never thought i would say this about an Apple product...well i guess the iPod was near perfection as well in its days...

    I got an 11” iPad Pro in late 2018. And I love it. Made the jump from MacBook Pro to iPad Pro as my MacBook sorta died. Lol.
    I bought a keyboard that turns it into a laptop and while it doesn’t have a trackpad, it does let you rotate the screen to keep it tablet like and then I can easily draw with procreate etc. I love that keyboard, it was like $60 on Amazon. I’d def buy it again.
    I am new to editing video and stuff and find the lack of storage quite frustrating. I did buy a Samsung T7 and that is working just fine. I just figured out how to bring videos back from the T7 to edit in iMovie or whatever. I definitely find iMovie frustrating in many ways. I am still hoping for an iMac soon, even tho I can do most things on my iPad.

    I have an iPad Pro 2nd generation. I wanted to know how you deal with the battery life on the iPad Pro? I find that the battery life goes very fast and then it take a long time to charge again - what solution would you suggest? Thank you.

    I have an iPad Pro 9.7 inches. Is this the one you’re using? Or the big one, is it 12 inches? Can’t remember at the moment. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max, Mac 27 inch 5k with lots of memory and ram and the iPad Pro 9.7 inches is an older model but in great shape. I may try this keyboard and see if I can use it as my daily diver as a computer. Should be cheaper than buying a new Mac. Thank you for your tips

    iPad Pro 2018 now supports external hard drives?? Sweet, because I know I tried and failed with earlier iPadOS versions.

    I love my iPad Pro also, but one thing I don't like is the Excel 365 on iPadOS or iOS. On my Mac i create charts,, but when I take them to my iPad, there is almost no capability to modify those charts on the iPad. For example, on the iPad if I want to Format the chart Axis, Select a different set of Data, etc, you don't have that capability.

    Hi.
    Great video.
    I wondered if you could help.
    I have a brand new iPad Pro 12.9 2020 model.
    I am looking to transfer my entire iTunes Library of songs from an iPad Touch to my new iPad Pro. Is this possible?
    Would I need a USBC to Lightning cable to do this?
    Thanks.

    I’d get the 12.9 inch size and use as my laptop but I can’t bcos I can’t open 2 excel docs side-by-side and accessories are expensive. Magic keyboard in my country costs as i3 Intel running non-Apple laptop. Am good with my 7th gen. I can get a MacBook Air in June.

    I am a freelance translator/writer. I use ms office and safari on my macbook mid 2013 to get the work done. I use it with external monitor, keyboard and mouse. Now I would like to replace it with ipad set up. In this case is iPad air 4th generation enough? or shall I go for iPad pro version (11 inch)?

    Great video dude, I just picked up my Ipad Pro 2020 12.9 and love it, I use Capture One for all my photo editing and I suppose I would have to go back to LR, not to keen on that, but may bite the bullet.

    I've had several iPhones and iPads. Currently have a 12.9 inch iPad Pro. In all honesty if it wasn't for Procreate I would leave the Apple ecosystem altogether. Sick to death of every release seeing some variation of "Is this the iPad that will replace your laptop?". No. It doesn't. In all honesty a few months ago I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 on a lark. WOW! With DEX it actually was a tablet that could serve as a laptop replacement! Super Amoled screen better than the iPad Pro Liquid Retina screen. True blacks and super popping colors! Have actually been using it much more than my iPad Pro OR my Surface Pro! Just bought a Galaxy S7 Plus and with the 12.4 inch Super Amoled screen, 256 gb of internal storage, sd card expandable storage and 8gb of ram, 120 megahertz refresh rate, I have no doubt that it will be my go to, multi tasking, media consumption device. Yeah, I know. Not as many apps available, but people need to stop focusing on the number available, with the vast majority useless, and how many apps they will actually USE. So far I have found Android apps that completely fulfill all of my everyday needs, just as well as any Apple app with the sole exception of Procreate. It is still the best art app I've found. So it still gives me a reason to take my iPad Pro off the shelf and wipe the dust off. For everything else, my DEX enabled S7 Plus has me covered. Let the hating begin!

    I'm expecting my 12.9 M2 IPad Pro. 2Tb. 16Gb Ram. 8 Core Cpu. 10 Core Gpu.
    If I already had the M1 I wouldn't bother but it's my first IPad ever so I figured I may as well get the newest version. It's a little more powerful than the M1.
    I'm not a fan of Laptops so I wanted a replacement. Ipads are awesome.
    I'm gonna hook it up to my Maschine mk3.

    I want to sometimes hold the tablet vertically but the screen keyboard doesn’t show up when connected to the keyboard case so I have to type sideways. Hate it. Can I change a setting for that?

      Unfortunately, you'll need to disconnect the iPad from the keyboard case to do this.

      Jonathan Casey nope. I looked it up on a forum after asking you. You just hold the arrow in the bottom right corner and it pops right up while the keyboard is connected

    I am a lawyer and need to be able to set up a database with individual fields and merge it into a form document that has those fields designated in that form. How do I do that on an ipad pro? I currently do it on my computer and it works just fine. Please tell me what app to use to accomplish this so I can ditch my computer. That will, as you say, turn my Ipad Pro into a laptop replacement. Thanks.

      12.9 would be a better fit for a laptop replacement. I tried 11 for a while, it seems a bit small. Give it a try first then decide. Get a keyboard folio to save money and some bluetooth mouse and you will be good to go.
