I bought a bluetooth keyboard and usb c hub to make my iPad Pro seem more like a computer. Using it with a monitor has been really cool, minus how it doesn't utilize the whole screen. Applications like Affinity Photo and Designer, Lightroom, and LumaFusion have definitely been a huge plus to have because of the power it has. Hopefully more PRO apps come to the iPad Pro
Even though I appreciate your honest approach regarding your lack of graphic design skills, the Ipad Pro can be a very powerful tool for an artist and the ability to easily organize, share, remotely store and edit your graphic files would be a nice addition to this list. Thanks for the tips.
Dude, the way you show iPad screen recordings on an iPad sitting on a desk looks so good. The best method I’ve ever seen. Very well made video my friend
Thanks so much - what a helpful video! After years with a 16 GB iPad (9.5 inches), I just stepped up to a brand new 256GB 2018 iPad Pro (11 inch), and this is one of the best resources I’ve found while crawling the web. I learned so much from your video - it’s informative, thorough, and very well paced. Will check out the links and your other vids, too.
While I use my iPad for most of my daily tasks, there are 2 reasons why I can't make it my only computer: 1. The file system is better, but not great 2. The Microsoft Office suite is very limited on the iPad. I can get tasks done, but it's limited
Yeah I can agree with these 2 things. This is why I think it’s important to have a desktop of some sort if the iPad is going to become a laptop replacement for travel.
I can deal with the Files app, but Microsoft Office being stripped down is the ONE reason I can't make my iPad a laptop replacement. When I need to make modifications in or between classes, I need the full version.
I ordered an iPad 12.9-inch Pro today. Of all the channels I've watched today so I can get ahead of the learning curve yours was by far the best. Thank you for your help!
I just ordered an iPad Pro 12.9 inch and magic keyboard. Your video really helped me. Just wanted to say thank you as I prepare for the experience, I’ll have great tips.
Absolutely LOVED the video. I’ve watched hundreds of iPad related videos and this is the first time I’ve actually learned something new. Great content!!!
Thanks dude, it was a really fun video to make. Yeah, the Sabrent Drive is straight 🔥. That with a little dual lock Velcro and you can fasten it to your MacBook or iPad.
The Logitech Slim Folio Pro should be mentioned too. I prefer it over the Brydge & Apple iPad Keyboard because 1) it gives corner protection for your iPad, 2) it has function keys also, and 3) it has a little slot where you can store your Apple Pencil, so you don’t have to worry about it falling off the magnetic part of your iPad. There’s not a lot of cons with it other than it MAY be slightly bulkier than the other two listed in the video, but I’d prefer robust & functional. There’s also no touchpad, but this keyboard was released before Mac OS was released, but til now it is the best case in my opinion.
Nicely done on the turning webpages into app icons on screen. I sort of knew about it but totally forgot to use it. Thanks for the reminding. Oh ya, I switched to my iPad pro since 2018 and never looked back since. However, i still keep my 27” iMac for the big screen and my photo scanner.
What really got me a laptop feel was putting all apps in the dock (or in folders in the dock) instead of the homescreen - that way multitasking is easier and it feels like the dock on Mac
Just decided to make the switch over to using iPad Pro. I’ve gotta say this is the best guide out there for getting the most efficiency. Good stuff big dawg
I am for the iPad to have more and more Laptop hardware and Desktop OS functionality and abilities, but at the same time I do not want to see any sacrifices made to the *portrait* tablet part of the iPad which is what made the iPad so great in the first place. The iPad is simply the most modular Apple device ever. (and my personal favorite)
A couple months ago I purchased the normal Ipad, and I am impressed that i've been using it more than my computer. I'm really thinking about upgrading to the Ipad Pro
The magic keyboard which I’m using to type out this comment has definitely increased my love and usage of my 201812.9” iPad Pro by 100% trackpad gestures and the keyboard has truly changed and redefined this device for me a fan and user of the MacBook Pro for over three decades I may never buy or even consider buying a laptop ever again this magic keyboard has truly made the iPad Pro a game changer
You should try to do a version of this where all the accessories are under $50. Might be interesting to see what someone on a budget could do with the iPad
@@safwansameer7847 that's not true at all dude. Payments on an ipad are like $35. For someone on a budget that needs a laptop for work or school, that can definitely fall within a budget easily. Everyone's situation is different and honestly most people in this country (US) are making next to nothing for a paycheck and that's just the reality. Yet people still have iphones. iPads. Etc. And sometimes it's a need and not a want. Especially for someone that needs something like this for work or school like I said. You can be poor and on a budget and still have an iPad. I'm glad you're so privileged to be able to make comments like that. You might need a wake up call.
Thank you so much for this! I bought a 2020 Pro when we went to full time distance learning, to help me create videos for my students as an elementary art teacher. I was considering buying a new laptop, but your video is so helpful and I will be getting some of the products you suggested as I don't want to spend more money if I can just give my iPad laptop functionality! Thank you thank you thank you!!
Looking forward to getting my iPad Pro. With its power and versatility, it's really like having a smartphone and laptop combined in a cohesive unit. I remember using my iMac recently and while performing certain tasks wishing I was on my phone because of the intuitive touch nature that we've grown accustomed to using.
I thinking of just buying a new Ipad so I can travel with it and still do laptop function without having to carry around my Macbook. I will definitely try and see how I like operating fully on the new Ipad. Will save me alot of trouble flying and not having to unload all my electronics. Thanks for the video
I don’t have an iPad Pro, but I I do have is the 2018 iPad (the cheapest one) it’s close to 2 years old by now and I still use it. I mainly use it on my language class to take notes using notability, I’ve also used my iPad as a video editing tool for my school projects, I’ve also use my iPad to draw or design something using procreate, it’s held up well and I love it so much!
What would you expect. It's iPad. Android tablets esp amoled ones probably have screen burn ins or color shifts and degraded colors or brightness by now...messy and many bugs and no support.

Trackpad and monitor on desk, folio, hub& ssd on the go!!
Enjoying the iPad more lately but that battery drain is killing me on that keyboard case!
Yeah, I've noticed it too. Hopefully, they can do something through software updates to fix it.
Be careful. You'll be banned from the internet for telling the truth about Apple products...
Question on the battery drain. Maybe it’s the lights on the Keyboard? Maybe turn off lights on keyboard during day or until you actually need them?
WatchReport.com no unfortunately it’s not the light it’s a software balancing problem
This is why I prefer the Logitech keyboards. But they don’t have a touchpad version yet for the 12.9, only for the 11”

I am a freelance translator/writer. I use ms office and safari on my macbook mid 2013 to get the work done. I use it with external monitor, keyboard and mouse. Now I would like to replace it with ipad set up. In this case is iPad air 4th generation enough? or shall I go for iPad pro version (11 inch)?
Can via usb printer cable? My office printer is not Bluetooth / wifi ready
