Those snapper are gorgeous! I've missed you and Sheena on your other channel, so it does my heart good to see you out doing what you love. I hope you had wonderful holidays with family. Happy New Year!
Thanks so much for the lovely comments. Sorry there hasn’t been much on the main channel. Videos coming very soon! Thanks so much for watching and happy new year! Thomas
Another great video, I think I’ve watched all of your content now, really enjoyed them. Your videos, and others, have helped me make the decision to get myself a Smartwave, I’ve got a white one with a Suzuki 50, arriving in about a week or so. Still a long time till Summer in the UK but massively keen to get out. I’m just wondering if there are any good accessories for it that you’d recommend? I’ll need some rod storage and the Railblazer board is a must-have, Garmin is ordered - anything else you think I should get? A huge thanks for making such great videos, they’re being enjoyed around the world! 👍🏼
That’s super exciting to hear. Good on ya! You’re going to love it. I have a ball every second I’m out on the boat. Sounds like you’re pretty sorted for kit. The Railblaza products are brilliant. Even though I don’t do much bait fishing I still use the bait board lots. I’ve added some plastic upright rod holders near the front seats (these could also go on the front of the centre console if a T top isn’t in the way like me) and find them really useful. Apart from that things are pretty standard and it all works a treat. Yell out if you need any more info though. If you’re not a member of the Smartwave group on FB I recommend joining. Lots of info there. Thanks so much for watching the vids and congratulations on your new boat. Cheers, Thomas
@@chasingacatch6017 thanks Thomas, I'll check the Smartwave group out. To be honest, I'm not a fisherman at all, spearfishing is my thing, that said, I'm keen to get into lure fishing alongside the diving. I'm not really interested bait fishing so much, I was planning on using the bait board as a place to put a stove and make some coffee!! It's still darkest winter here so a few months to go for me yet, will make do with your videos till then!
No worries. Yell out if you have any more questions. I absolutely love the Smartwave. Easy to handle, smooth and quiet. I’ve had no reason to question the strength of the transom. It seems really solid. Thanks very much for watching. Thomas
Hey Thomas another great vid mate, I never seem to catch anything on my slider unless I pop a little bit of squid on , otherwise nothing. You seem to catch a few without bait ?
Hey Dave. Yeah I get great success with them. Had one sitting in the rod holder a couple of days ago and got a 13 pound snapper. I’ve never put bait on. I let them hit the bottom and then just bring them up a tiny bit so they don’t get snagged. Sometimes a bit of swell can help as I think it lets the sliders bob up and down. Changing out colours when they’re not working can help too. I always find orange the best though. The slider in the rod holder massively out fished my soft baiting in that trip a few days ago. Pretty amazing. Thanks so much for watching. Thomas
Hi Mike. I’ve got 15lb braid on that reel and normally use 20-30lb fluoro carbon leader. For that video my guess would be I had 20lb leader on. Let me know if you need any more info. Cheers, Thomas
Hey mate. Thanks for watching. I’m fishing in the far north. I don’t give out the locations but you’ll be able to find it very easily with a bit of searching. Cheers, Thomas

The coffee idea sure is a good one. You’ll need a hot brew after driving. Lure fishing is amazing. So good not having smelling bait hanging about!
@@chasingacatch6017 definitely, zero interest in having a smelly boat!
Thanks for listing the tackle used. How do you find the smartwave boat? I wonder about the strength of the transom.

What would be the bigger predator fish down there then Tom. What's eating the snapper other than you.
Hahaha plenty of shakes filling their stomachs. We saw some orca the other day too which was amazing. Thanks heaps for watching Don. Thomas
Hi Thomas what breaking strain line and leader? Thanks
