  • Hi Guys,
In this quick video tutorial I'm showing you how I REPLACE the Lower Control Arm on this BMW 5 Series F10. This is a quick, easy and simple steps. This is a similar process for most cars.
    TOOLS YOU'LL NEED:
    1. 8 mm Socket
    2. 18mm, 21mm, 24mm socket
    3. T-20 socket
    4. T-50 socket
    2. New control arm

Just had both the lower control arm and the thrust arm replaced because something was thumping at low speed when the brakes were applied. The drivers side front wheel is moving back and forth when I hit the brakes. Can make it do it in the driveway. I thought for sure it was that thrust control arm but it's still doing it after I replaced both parts with new. BMW tech says it might be the swap bar links needs replacing but I don't think that would make the wheel move back and forth on braking. Any ideas?

Not sure. Might be a loose bolts somewhere along the braking system. Probably re-check the nuts and bolts and tightening to specs.

Do you know if the 535i lower control arm would fit the 535xi?

Are the torque specs the same for a G30?
