I was the face painting booth in front of you. I’ve only ever done the pepper festival and it’s been this disorienting every time. I didn’t realize how bad it was until I had a couple vendors talk to me about their other experiences at previous festivals they have worked at. It was such a pleasure meeting you and i’m so sorry you had a bad experience. Have made me consider going to other local festivals we have in our area though which i’m excited about!

I loved watching your video. I understand the frustration with lack of information, - puh... I am going to do my first market EVER this Saturday. It is kind of a Christmas market, and I have loads of clothes I have crocheted, and some knits, - and right now I am working on my second Santa-plushies, just to have something "Christmassy" at my booth. I have a few snowmen as well, and then a "family" of cats, so that there are not just clothes. I should film for my part 3 of the preparations for the market, but I´m feel too busy with the Santa, - "stupid thinking", - of course I should film... Well, now that I have watched and listened to your vlog, I should go ahead and record pieces of my own 😀 By the way, - I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ducks and swans, and the monkey, - beautiful 🥰❤

@piecesofscrap when you show your "material cost" - is that yarn/poly fill etc., or booth decorations, supplies? I've done many-a-frustrating markets - I feel your pain! Glad you came out on top, however.
It sounds like the event planner was very unprofessional. The first thing after paying for your spot they should have given you a map with your spot highlighted. Hopefully the event planner learned something from the event. All your projects are cute and beautifully made.

Those eyes on the snugglers are so cute do you have a tutorial ? thats how my markets always do it, the earlier you get there the better the booth. But they dont set anything a head of time or send emails.
Trying to navigate that kind of chaos at an event that SHOULD be better organized just adds a whole extra level of stress. If this is how they operate historically, I think I'd look for a different option in the future.
It's very possible that they could've been new. I don't usually go to this town for events so I'm unfamiliar with how things are normally handled, but a few other vendors have reached out and said it's always been similarly hectic. Thanks for watching! 🫶✨
Sounds like the coordinator should of been more professional. I have a show coming up in December. I've never done a 3 day show before and I'm kinda nervous about it.
There is a festival in my town, I would make some serious money there but the organizers were worse and worse with every new festival. I attended that festival for about three years four time a year but this year I said enough is enough. They wouldn't answering the e-mails, vendor spaces were smaller and smaller every time, fee was bigger and bigger every time, there were many not registered vendors, I felt it's not worth my time and effort. I'd rather go a little further, even outside of my town, where I'm welcome than in my own yard where somebody is taking advantage of me. I support your decision not to go to that festival anymore.

The least they could have put in that bag were some tokens so you could get a free snack or sandwich or something
Yeah that would've been really nice... For all I know, all of the coupons and freebies weren't even from vendors selling at this event

My material cost is the cost of my yarn, stuffing, safety eyes, etc. and it's all calculated by how much of it I use. Hope that helps!

Another vendor commented on this video and actually said this experience is similar to past events. It's too bad, it could've been so much better!

You don't have to buy plastic pallets to add weight to the back of your toys. Just use some old buttons I'm sure everyone has at home.
