Mike I know you said you don't like doing vids like these because they're not "professional" but honestly, these are my favorite videos right now. Since I'm not in Evo I can't see for myself what the builds look like, and these commentaries on what it was like for YOU are so much better than the leaks which I think probably frustrate CIG since they break the NDA. Please keep these up and if you find anything new this weekend I'd love to hear your experiences! Please do a quick check and see if you can easily find a ship that's in space away from a station (i.e. quit to menu while in a ship in space) to see if you can find it with the new Starmap - that would be a game changer for me as I've lost so many ships to various CTD issues where I just couldn't FIND them!
Totally agreed. I love these videos; they're informative and off-the-cuff and they feel genuine and authentic.
I agree with this, i really dont mind low effort content. This is just quick info. Maybe a simple intro outro gives it that little pollish. Easy make once and copy paste in on every quick video

It’s so relieving to hear the starmap is actually good. I was so crushed to hear the starmap was almost worst than the current starmap in the last Evo build.

Don't make assumptions of early evo builds, not even of ptu builds. That's their job, bring features in, resolve bugs and make the build stable and so on. First build will be always a mess.
Great search functionality, but otherwise unreadable. That doesn't sound all that good honestly.

Good to hear the Starmap was responsive. Was one of my biggest worries after hearing about the last evo test the other day.
it's almost like evo is for unfinished content and nobody should really be drawing conclusions from it, and making videos about being disappointed from it is misleading
@@moonasha I will not understand why people can't comprehend what testing environment it's about. That is the point of evocati, a unstable build with many bugs so they can improve said build.
@@moonasha The general consensus was that the map felt exactly like the old one. And considering the current one has been that way for 5+ years now, clunky and hard to use. The idea was that it was entirely the same case, new layer of paint but its still the same old rust bucket underneath.
@@cookiejarvis3856 Yeah, but people still need to temper their expectations a bit during evocati builds. Same thing happened with initial leaks about the new water physics. Some people prematurely freaked out because it looked terrible in the initial evocati build. Now if a feature gets to PTU and appears in a bad state, that might be a time to start to worry.
I mean, evocati is not even in wave 1 yet... idk what you guys were doing jumping to conclusions from a very skeletal evocati build
There are a bunch of channels creating 'professional' videos that are glorified sales pitches for the game, but I really appreciate this kind of ground truth video for those of us actively following the development. Thanks for being willing to do both Mike.
They did the same thing for Cyberpunk2077, they meaning content creators. That's why its good practice to believe nothing many of them say, who at the core, are just self-serving assh*les and clickbait merchants, although these days, very obvious. With Star Citizen CC'ers practice some of the worse cases of outright deceit.
Aka space tomato and morphologist. The two worst content creators
@@azca. Ide never give any of them a single $, to encourage them sit on their lazy asses at my expense. Not all, but many SCCC form these clicky, creepy little relationships, offering up useless opinions, spewing out verbatim from the frequent CIG's postings, clickbaiting or stealing anothers hard work,interspersed with their own verbal diarera, DGB30 and BoredGamer being two of the worst culprits.

1. Copium dealers and hype rumor creators such as Supermacbrother and TheEradicator
2. CIG press secretaries or CIG text-to-speech such as BoredGamer and Supermacbrother (again)
3. Opportunistic YT algorithm merchants such as Olli43
As someone who is never awake when you stream, for Evo updates, I really like these debrief low effort videos. Awesome to hear that there is progress from your last experience
I think this type of video is actually pretty neat. I also liked when you made a list what to check out during stream with chat. Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

Appreciate you updating us in a very real, unfiltered way. With not all of us being able to play these builds or have much visibility into what's going on, it's really nice to hear your input as you're able to distill the situation very succinctly and clearly. Keep doing what you're doing, brother.

Great update Mike! always looking forward to them! I really don't expect a live until Invictus, possibly just a open EPTU at that point but it sounds like data mining has found Invictus stuff in 3.23. Here's to hoping as we definitely have time for them to smoothen it out.
It's nuts that they're also delivering split Replication Layer along with all these features and reworks. The QA on so much mixed content is insane

I think these videos are fantastic. I appreciate the general recap, so I'm not having to go around a million sources to figure out what's going on with the game. I also like how you're willing to talk about the negatives and give a genuine opinion, rather than sugarcoating everything like so many channels do. I've been here since 2013 and I wish I would have found your channel sooner. I actually like this your content isn't over produced. I hate bloat in videos where you just want quick info.

Best videos, btw. You are basically doing what progress tracker was allegedly meant to do - tell about actual progress. And tamper expectations, so that's actually nice and useful. I think that's what CIG also wanted to have with their relaxed NDA approach - add some context to leaked images and videos.
I honestly love these vids, since i dont often catch u streaming and they are just informative and short which is real nice.
Worth pointing out that the Kopions (dogs) don't attack when they're on their own, they will only attack in a pack. If you encounter one alone it will seek it's friends before dealing with you
how sick would a Lethal Company type mission be where there's like a disabled 890 or idris or something and someone has to open doors and whatnot from an engineering panel for another person on foot going through the ship while fending off bad guys or creatures

I really appreciate these new videos, honestly. I can't catch your stream because of time differences and most of the other creators putting out updates are simply reading the patch notes rather than giving their experience or opinion, which is fine obviously, but I prefer this style where I'm actually hearing someone's experience of actually testing the new features; it's cool.

These types of vids are totally fine given the nature of the updates. As someone who can't play it yet, and prefers for the Live version anyway, I love hearing the feedback of the current state of things. Low effort or not, it's good stuff. I mean, it'd be extremely weird for them not to allow this , eventually you'll have to watch out for which planet you're onto and which species you're hunting cause some of them will be protected on some UEE/Xi'an planets (unless you plan on starting an illegal trafficking ring, then you'll just have to be well prepared)

Regardless, thanks for all you do to report on Star Citizen, I always appreciate that you are very clear about what you know are facts, things that you perceive, and your thoughts on available information. For other content creators that I follow, I appreciate their views as well, but you do the best job of being clear on facts, hypotheses, and your own biases.

It's gunna go Live with massive issues, regardless of how much "patching" they do in the beta, beta, alpha. The real test is always player count so, with assets all finished, it will be ptu in a week, Live in another, and then the real patches kick in across the month after. Hence April, as slated lol
I have a question, for the StarMap, Is it planned for there to be landscape features when you zoom into the planet? Or maybe clouds when you zoom into Crusader?
I am concerned about the light sources coming from behind the translucent interface, I hope they have taken into account that many times it becomes completely unreadable, I hope they have a dimming method or some type of filter that limits the light passing through the interface.

I'm fine with that. Might seem a ways away, but the amount of content in this patch sets the stage for 4.0, all while bringing a ton of stuff too. There's so much content in this patch the rumours about the new vehicles hasn't been nearly as prevalent for Invictus as previous years.

I prefer this over most of your videos lol. this is breaking news, it doesn't need polish.
that said...IF you did it more regularly you could just have an evo 'breaking news' graphics and maybe a short soundlogo play in/out. It doesn't need to be elaborate, just a 5 sec paste in and credits on tail end.
I wished i could play the evo builds just to see this stuff. but since i cant, i have to rely on you and a friend of mine who are actually in the evo builds. thanks for taking the time for your reporting, i usually look for them when i know an evo build will drop.
