We saw Darlene Love right before the world turned upside down (Covid shutdown). What a show. What an amazing artist. She was flat out amazing. I return to this video time and again. It is just pure joy.

I saw Darlene in "Leader of the Pack" - and was stunned to see on checking with the Playbill that she was actually playing herself! That was 26 years ago. She is now 74, kiddies, and she could pass for 40. Her voice is strong, and she has the energy of a 20 year old. Bless you, Darlene, and congrats on finally making it into the Hall of Fame. When I hear you sing, it's 1963 Spring Houseparty at Lehigh, and I feel 20 myself again!!!
Ms. love is now a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a well-deserved - and long-overdue acknowledgement of this legendary talent (and a very nice person, as well).
If you want absolute proof that rock and roll keeps you young, here it is.

There's no one like Darlene - this is the first song I remember her singing in 63. At that time I didn't know about her singing He's A Rebel and other spector productions.

He has worked very very hard to get where he is today. His popularity is attributed to the fact that he is a one of a kind artist with an original E STREET BAND who jumps on and off the stage with his guitar and sexy raspy voice, and gives himself over the the audience HEART AND SOUL. I would love to be in the same room with Bruce, Neil and Eric Clapton. That would be a real Heaven on Earth experience.

This is an excellent video to start my day off right. As far back as the 1960s, I had a thing for Darlene Love. If ever you watch Elvis' 1968 Comeback Special, Darlene Love is singing background for Elvis; I noticed it all the back in 1968. Of course, Darlene Love never knew it, but I'm more than available! Stevie Nicks too! My Mom laughed when I said, "Hey, look, there's Darlene Love!"
