Lobbing big centers are going extinct. The amount of 3s being shot and having to run up and down in these fast paced games, it just doesn't make sense to have a dominant center anymore. Once Whiteside goes, we'll see Deandre Jordan also disappear. I think that'll be the last of this breed.

Being an avid Heat fan I can say that Hassan wasn't given much a chance this last season. Spo was done with him and made it abundantly clear to the front office that he wanted Hassan gone. Spo refused to play him in the 4th Quarter in games in which he played good and used the excuse of going smaller because the other team went small. Do I think Hassan regressed after getting his big contract? Yes, I believe the intensity was no longer the same but last year he wasn't given a chance to even play in close games that the Heat could've won. It's like Spo said I rather lose than win with you.

Take it from someone who follows the team, Whiteside was held to a higher standard then everyone else. The guy struggled with injuries this year, but every time you turned around someone was always accusing him of being lazy. Whiteside is only human, he can only do what the coach allows him too. And Instead of coming up with a system where the guy could flourish in, he instead chose to adjust to what the opposing teams were doing, instead of making the opposing team adjust to us.
There’s more to Whiteside’s game then meets the eye, the guy can actually shoot threes, but Spoelstra would continue to put limits on his game, and would allow the likes of Josh Richardson and Justise Winslow, two of the most frustrating players we have, mess up constantly, instead of playing to Hassan’s strengths.
I hope he can come back and be the game changer I know he is.

As a Heat fan, I'd like for us to trade Whiteside. Bam Adebayo is showing great potential so I think with Hassan gone, he could become a Clint Capela type of player in the future. We'd also be freeing up cap space to help us make some moves in free agency. I'd also like us to trade James Johnson and Goran Dragic. They're getting up there in age and both are kinda inconsistent anyway.

Couple things 1. He's living in Miami 2. He's hanging out dj khaled 3. Once he got his money he started playing worse

We've seen this with Iverson, we've seen this with Rondo.. Usuallu it happens when a star ages but Whiteside is fine, he just isn't getting playing time he used to.. Consistent minutes make a big difference.. But his playstyle isn't exactly ideal for the modern game so he is gonna struggle to get playing time, even tho is is a great player..

They should trade Whiteside, as a Heat and Whiteside fan it hurts but it’s clearly what Hassan wants.
Spo and the injuries made this season look worse than it really was for him tho. Hassan is still a great player.

You should do "what happened to Tony Wroten's NBA career"

so does this mean we're gonna get a "What happened to Damian Lillard's career" by judging off one series? Whiteside just had a bad 5 games, he wasnt fitting in the scheme against the 76ers, thats all.
Edit: nevermind, i just watched the whole vid haha

14ppg 11rpg for regular season with fifty percent shooting.... Not bad

Isaiah - Whiteside's conditioning was subpar. Add to that Whiteside getting into early foul trouble due to poor defense from the Heat backcourt. Anyhow, Pat Riley's comments indicate a determination to keep Whiteside.

Ricky Webster Don't let the stats fool you. He was bad during the regular season. He was lazy and unengaged most of the time he was out on the court.

William Scott Jr. - You suggest there is no correlation between productivity and work ethic, which is totally illogical. In spite of your saying Whiteside was lazy and unengaged, he was still better than 65% of the Centers in the NBA. Seems to me you have a blatant double standard.

Not entirely disagreeing because you make plenty of good points, but honestly I think Riley did him injustice by getting other big man that play HIS position. Adebayo is one thing for future thinking but Olynyk also? Plus the small ball pushing big men away as it is I don’t think this season was a fair assessment on him especially all of this with injuries. Give him til the deadline next year then we can see where this is headed

Nate - Bynum only played 52 games total after the injury. Injury ended his career.

Nate Kong best comment, whiteside always was overrated, but at least he was a good player he was elite rebounder could shoot mid ranges And protected the rim, he always had a terrible qi, bad perimter defense And a turnovers machine, but since his knee injury he became absolutly garbage , he cant do shit, Just like bynum, i actually thinking two years he Will be like gobbert bynum, he cant block rim, he barely moves,he was so fucking unathletic this season, i think his career does after knee injury.

He wasn't trying. He played his hardest for his contract year, and we were expecting his to bring that same energy every single night this year. Slumps happen, but he wasn't even trying out there.

He's Roy Hibbert in the future. Heat should get Marc Gasol or Brook Lopez.
