That isn’t to say that they don’t care for basketball or that they don’t care of winning at an elite level or playing at an elite level, but it’s a common sense concept that if you just think about it for about 6 seconds will start to make sense to you. When you are a role player averaging 10,2,3 on 40/30/70… you could care less about winning a ring when it means someone like the Lakers, for example, will sign you for $35,000,000 over 2 years. You can’t expect role players to look at the POTENTIAL of an NBA Championship (which the heat haven’t won in a decade) as opposed to looking at the GUARANTEED life altering money POST-career sitting right in front of them. Edit: The fact that you don’t see 6th men of the year candidate players accepting a minimum deal in FA to go play with the previous years champions should show you something.
Let me correct you, don't sign players from a hard work ethic Nba organization if your a organization that does high school drills. The player doesn't change the staff does....

There isn’t a more better run organization in the NBA. Proud to be a Miami local and Heat Lifer.
You're missing one major factor here Treese, probably the biggest factor in truth. That is that players want to play in Miami because it is Miami and when a player is motivated by such things, they tend to practice that much harder to remain where they want to remain rather than being shipped off to a team like the Timberwolves or Jazz where few players want to live/play. We have heard it for years in all major leagues (NFL, MLB, and NBA), players want to play and live in Miami. So that is a major factor in their output in my opinion.
Gilbert arenas was trying to say “there o such thing as heat culture” that’s another one he’s got wrong. What other team builds winning teams with mostly unheard of players. There’s definitely something going on down there. He may not want to call it “heat culture” but the rest of us do. I think that’s why they haven’t pursued some of these players everyone thought they should. Some of them have just made it this far on talent and Riley realizes they don’t want to or just won’t put in the work.
The Miami Heat specifically their culture is like that mom or dad that wants to help you and sees your potential if you follow their instructions you get to reap the rewards. The kids who leave after their tenure because of their bad behavior or got collected by the adaption center cuz of their bad grades will never ever go back and soon realize their mistakes Never stop with the effort, be disciplined, dont slack off or be lazy. Thats the culture i love in Miami
My dad and I watched Nunn throughout his rookie season, and it was obvious he was NOT a star in the making. 😂😂 I'm not shocked at all he's already out of the NBA honestly.
Let’s talk about who’s up next rather the past. We need a diamond in the rough to go along side They young core. We need sure relevance after reaching the finals almost on an every year basis.
As a long -time Heat fan, I'll try to summarize why they signed these players: Tyler Johnson because Mickey Arison, of all people, wanted, not Riley and he was vocal about it which is unheard of for the quiet Arison. and Hassan Whiteside, got LAZY after he signed that contract. The hunger that drove him from the G league was not there anymore. In short, the Heat spartan structure which developed these players, mostly wont work outside, and the exception is Strus (so far).
Contracts should not be guaranteed and should be performance and incentives based to fully qualify and receive the full amount of their salary month after per season.
Tyler Johnson was more of Sean Marks sending poison pill contracts to budding stars. Nets had 0 draft picks and were looking to build direction after Billy King era. He also sent these types of offers to Crabbe, OPJ and (I think) Joe Harris - 4 year deals where the front end was cheap but it paid out heavy the last two yrs. All but Portland matched i think, but we ended up with most of them.
Other than Johnson, the narrator answers his own questions. Waiters and Nunn had serious lower body injuries, and Whiteside came into his prime in his late 20s early 30s. Gabe Vincent is a reach. He is who we thought he is.

4:16 misdemeanor battery isn't that serious of a crime idk about being dismissed because he's a good player but he def deserved something
The Tyler Johnson signing is the reason Dwade couldn’t get the contract he deserved to stay in Miami
Getting free agents is all well and good, but last year’s champs built their team almost entirely through the draft
If the entire NBA was like the Miami Heat the league wouldn't be so soft these days
Luol Deng and Joe Johnson both had a good season in Miami, then got big deals in free agency and instantly fell off
The Miami Heat specifically their culture is like that mom or dad that wants to help you and sees your potential if you follow their instructions you get to reap the rewards.
The kids who leave after their tenure because of their bad behavior or got collected by the adaption center cuz of their bad grades will never ever go back and soon realize their mistakes
Never stop with the effort, be disciplined, dont slack off or be lazy. Thats the culture i love in Miami
Really wanted to see Tyler Johnson in a dunk contest. Would of been fire!
Wait until you find out how many former heat players end up playing for LeBron after their heat tenure.
Those gray Heat jerseys were so fire
My dad and I watched Nunn throughout his rookie season, and it was obvious he was NOT a star in the making. 😂😂
I'm not shocked at all he's already out of the NBA honestly.
I agree...his numbers were good but he was one of those guys you practically didn't notice on the floor.
He usually popped off vs teams under .500
@@steven2145 His shot was just ugly to look at too.
He was really selfish and was a undersized 2 guard who really couldnt playmake
Y'all dont even know how good 2017 Whiteside was. Dude had the world in his palms and just stopped giving af
Let’s talk about who’s up next rather the past. We need a diamond in the rough to go along side They young core. We need sure relevance after reaching the finals almost on an every year basis.
Vincent, Nun, Johnson, Cole, Chalmers, white side, so many examples of players leaving Miami to disappear.
Shhhhhh don't let our secret out
damn i had to google the nunn charge cause i never knew about it. the dude beat a woman up, struck her on the head, then poured hot water on her
This is why they don’t go out of their way to recruit stars. Two reminiscent of the ‘Patriot Way’
Seems like they might be the nba version of the New England patriots during the 2010s.
Gabe and Kendrick to the Lakers 😂. All hype, nothing else. I don’t even think I saw Gabe play yet
this feels like the main reason why the lillard trade never went through
Heat culture is real. But those jerseys are still ugly
Give them the Miami Vice color scheme and it becomes a whole lot better
Other than Johnson, the narrator answers his own questions. Waiters and Nunn had serious lower body injuries, and Whiteside came into his prime in his late 20s early 30s. Gabe Vincent is a reach. He is who we thought he is.
A third of the way through the video and I haven't heard about Justice....
Everyone blames the money, but Whiteside mentally checked out when Spo started benching him in the 4th quarter for Bam
it's the SPO culture
Then they'd have way more championships
Man youre Videos are so nice, lets make a great come Back
