      GenZ has no idea what illegal defense was. It was more tiring to play defense back then running around following their man AND they had to be skilled to avoid getting himself and his team into foul trouble. Hand checking ball handlers and blatant aggressive shoving the backs of low post players with forearms and elbows were legal. Most of today's NBA players would load manage their way to play half a season and ask to be traded to their buddies team by the All Star break.

I'm always disappointed at how completely ignorant younger players and fans are about the history of the league and the players that made the league. Ant strikes me as a good guy that doesn't mean to do harm with his constant incredibly stupid comments. But at some point he has to put a filter on his mouth and learn how to think before he says yet another shockingly stupid thing. I'm sick of people completely ignoring context when talking about greatness in the NBA. The competition is tougher now that it was in the 90's, these aren't self-taught dudes who came to the NBA after playing at the rec anymore, these guys have been playing organized ball since they were kids, attending NBA player's camps etc. The game is faster, more dynamic, standing in the paint and elbowing your way to the hoop isn't enough. Two all-star calliber players on a team do not guarantee championship anymore. Not to take away anything from Magic Johnson, but he won a chip with a stacked squad of Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Kurt Rambis, James Worthy, and Bob McAdoo. Basketball is a team game, stop putting down individual players for not being able to bring team accolades. It's like saying CP3, James Harden, Reggie Miller, Dominique Wilkins, John Stockton, Patrick Ewing and a bunch of other guys, aren't worth talking to, because they never won.

The lack of disrespect that comes out of the mouths of these young players in all of the pros. sports make me sick. None of these young players are students of the sport they play. They are rich wanna-be rappers/athletes half of whom can't read a book. These guys are bad role models for any kid today and I don't care how good they play today's games. Today pro games are weak. These guys can basically take time off and get paid millions for not playing. And I blame guys like Stephen a for not calling out how pro sports today are weak.

I mean, we can't keep making excuses for him when we scrutinize Lebron for making it to the finals in his 4th year. Heck the true legends made an impact right away, Kobe already has 2 rings on his 5th year. Magic already has won a finals MVP on his rookie year. Heck MJ Already won MVP on his 4th year.
      Yet here comes AntMan, talking all these non sense, and you keep making excuses for them "well he's still in his 5th year". That's the thing, if he has not accomplished much what these legends did, then he should know how to shut up.

    @ArielDiaz-ec6zi 2 месяца назад

    I've thrown my two cents into this ring before on KG and Paul Pierce's podcast, but Anthony Edwards' knack for stirring the pot has got me typing again. Here's the thing about Edwards, he's got this vibe, right? He loves to get under the skin, and whether you love it or hate it, it's part of what makes him, him.
    Now, diving into this debate about old school vs. new school NBA, it's like comparing the best wines from different vineyards. Each era has its flavor. Today's game? It's faster, more spread out, and the three-point line might as well be the new free-throw line. But let's not forget what we've lost: that gritty, in-the-paint battle, the art of the mid-range jumper, and yes, a bit of that old-school physicality.
    The legends, though? They had something special, an adaptability that's often overlooked. Imagine Magic orchestrating today's fast breaks, Bird with today's spacing, or Jordan, well, being Jordan in any era. They'd not just play; they'd thrive. They adapted back then to rule changes, to new strategies, and they'd do it now.
    But here's where I land on this: it's not about which era is better. It's about respect and understanding evolution. Edwards has every right to speak his mind, but with that comes the responsibility to face the music, or in this case, the legends' rebuttals. Today's stars shine bright, but let's not dim the light of those who paved the way.
    Basketball evolves, and so does its greatness. Let's not pit eras against each other but appreciate them for what they are. Each generation builds on the last, adding layers to this beautiful game. So, while Edwards stirs the pot, let's remember: Greatness in basketball isn't bound by time, it's defined by impact, and that, my friends, is truly sublime.
