In 1984 ,living in Baltimore ,Queensryche was going to be playing a small club . Went ,paid 5 bucks at the door .,I sat at a bar overlooking stage right . It was the very best seating to view and hear what I about to see . That night I felt like Queensryche was playing just for me . It was during this song . During the lead break . Geoff Tate climbed up and took my hand and stayed with me to the end of the lead . They sounded perfect that night . I will never forget .. The message of this song is never give up
Im 63 years old and i was a fan in the 80s and 90s and they r still one of the best band i have ever heard in my life!!!!! When i found out they broke up , i still haven't gotten over it.
ANYBODY LISTENING From Queensryche You heard about censorship , one narratif... Listen carefully about this song. read the words.. Beautifull song too. Here the lyrics You and I Long to live like the wind upon the water If we close our eyes, we'll maybe realize There's more to life than what we have known And I can't believe I've spent so long Living lies I know were wrong inside I've just begun to see the light Long ago there was a dream Had to make a choice or two Leaving all I loved behind For what nobody knew Stepped out on the stage, a life Under lights and judging eyes Now the applause has died and I Can dream again... Is there anybody listening? Is there anyone that sees what's going on? Read between the lines Criticize the words they're selling Think for yourself and feel the walls Become sand beneath your feet Feel the breeze? Time's so near you can almost taste the freedom There's a warm wind from the south Hoist the sail and we'll be gone By morning this will all seem like a dream And if I don't return to sing the song Maybe just as well I've seen the news and there's Not much I can do... alone Is there anybody listening? Is there anyone who smiles without a mask? What's behind the words--images They know will please us? I'll take what's real Bring up the lights Is there anybody listening? Is there anyone that sees what's going on? Read between the lines Criticize the words they're selling Think for yourself and feel the walls... Become sand beneath your feet
I've seen many RUclipsrs react to this song. You are the only one that mentioned that some of his moves reminded you of Freddie Mercury. You are spot-on👍
Proof that rock and metal, just like classical, will never die. There are so many qualities to the music that are appreciated by both musicians and people who appreciate the sound. This is some of the best.
It's pronounced Queens Rike. I love this era of the band. Geoff Tate was untouchable. In different bands thru high school and tried to duplicate these songs but hardly anyone could sound like Tate. Also, this was the last song of the set. Their encore song was Queen of the Ryche.
Not the last song--though they ended their concerts later on with this one. The last song in this concert was Queen of the Reich and it is an amazing watch as well. Worth watching. ruclips.net/video/YklSwADBOkg/видео.html
Got to see them live 3 times in their prime. Twice on the Rage for Order tour and once on the Mindcrime tour. Amazing!

I saw them in ‘89 on Operation Mincrime tour and I took my older daughter to see them in ‘06 where they played Mindcrime I & II in their entirety! I can’t believe Geoff’s voice made it through those two records and two encores!
In the 80s, we had Geoff Tate, Mr. Halford (I will always call him that, until the Queen Knights him), and Bruce Dickinson (Has his own amazing accolades). Hall of Fame is tainted. Should be a more special place.
Queensryche was a treat for me also I first heard about them when they came out with operation mindcrime and then I went backwards from there and every album I heard before that one was better

Back then to my opinion two singer were professionally dominate their point of view of music Geoff Tate and Midnight from Crimson Glory back then both of them they were the most talented "rookies" compare to Rob Halford etc. Thank you Queensryche for giving me the chance to listen to you (born 88) in my youth and with your music teach me to listen lyrics also. Not only the amazing riffs, drums, bass tones

Great job. I love hearing reactions to this song. He's still kicking it at 63, has the pipes still
You haven't lived if you haven't heard rock'n'roll from 70's to 90's. Some great vocalists pre autotune. Autotune, the day the music died!
Can't agree with u more on this.

Dio?
No he is a better singer than both of them. The only reason why people say that Dio and
How is better is because they are more popular.
Listen to as much Queensryche as u can. They are a supremely talented metal band.
Your real reaction awesome. I saw them in concert in Michigan in 1988, one of the best concerts ever!!!!
What is remarkable about this particular performance was , that was an encore song at the very end of the concert.
“Wow”....”dam”....yep, Tate is the vocal G.O.A.T.
You will enjoy a lot of Queensryche, good reaction.
Awesome reaction bro good job keep it up.
Geoff had lungs!
I stand for you brother, this song is a crusher😆😆👍👍
My favorite since 1991. I Strongly recommend the studio album version with lyrics of ROADS TO MADNESS. It is EPIC & a little bit demented 😃
Its a great song and performance. Try listening to the album Operation Mindcrime in your spare time.
Sure Will check 'em out.
Mindcrime is pure genius
Definitely a bad ass album.
