Eluveitie - Summer Breeze 2023 - ARTE Concert

Eluveitie n’est peut-être pas l’inventeur du folk metal, mais les Suisses allient avec tant de brio musique celtique et metal qu’on se demande parfois s’ils ne sont pas les véritables fondateurs du genre. Toujours en quête d’authenticité, le groupe nourrit ses textes de l’histoire, du quotidien et de la spiritualité des Helvètes, un peuple celte de l’antiquité.
En celtique, Eluveitie signifie "je suis helvète". D’ailleurs, le fondateur du groupe, Christian Glanzmann, utilise parfois cette langue quand il cisèle les paroles des chansons du groupe. Les textes sont portés par un trio classique guitare-basse-batterie auquel vient s’ajouter une vielle à roue, une harpe et une cornemuse. Ces bardes modernes ont déjà près de huit albums à leur actif.

I had no idea Eluveitie still plays shows. I saw them as a teenager in a small club in LA back in 2009 or so. It was the first show I ever saw, and I had a blast. Come back to the states and I'll be there for sure!
