Hello from Mt. Shasta Ca. I applied for and received my permanent residency through the Yuma consulate in February. Permanent residency required either $293k savings or $7500 per month. I finalized my residency in Puerto Vallarta in March (the day after I arrived). I would highly recommend using a facilitator when you finalize in Mexico. I would not have wanted to figure it out on my own, especially since I don't speak Spanish. The small cost of the facilitator is well worth it. After receiving my Permanent Residency card (one day after arriving) I purchased a condo there. I would not have qualified if I had purchased the condo first. Keep that in mind if you are using your savings to qualify and intend to buy a home there

Hello Marianna, Thank you for the video; it was very informative. And your Article is the most details out there. However, I still have two questions. Does the consulate require proof of remote income, or is there a consulate that does not ask for it? I meet the monthly income and savings requirements for Temporary Residency, but I am unable to provide proof of remote work, and I am only 22 years old. It seems unusual for someone my age to move to Mexico without a remote job or to retire. But I am concerned that my salary may not keep up with Mexico's minimum wage and the exchange rate of the peso. Therefore, I want to apply for Temporary Residency as a backup plan in advance. Which, I cannot tell the officer that I want a backup plan, or maybe let me rephrase, I might work remotely in the future or planning for the retirement in advance. So, back to my question, does the consulate require proof of remote income, or is there a consulate that does not ask for it? Especially the 4 city that you mention in your article: McAllen, New Orleans, Raleigh, San Francisco, that I hope they would still be the four that require the least for Finical Requirements, which hopefully I can still fulfill them next year. Thank you so much
Hi there, a lot of consulates require original and stamped on the copies on every page of bank statements. Often originals or not generated anymore. The consulate in Atlanta requires it
From Consulate in Toronto: ...'income/pension for the past 6 months is over $9,900 CAD after tax". It keeps steadily creeping up, I've been watching. Note: site indicates updated January 2024.
PLEASE keep in mind that the economic solvency requirements vary depending on whether you are applying for temporary or permanent residency. The requirements you mentioned are for permanent residency and are higher than temporary residency. My husband and I are planning to move to Mexico sometime next year, after we sell our house. But I was thinking that we should start the application process for temporary residency based on financial solvency as soon as possible since the requirements are changing every year. Is it wise to do so, or should we wait till we're closer to the actual moving time? Would appreciate any input, maybe from someone who is or has been in a similar situation.
Marianna, thanks for the info. How does this work for married people and children? My wife and I plus our 4 kids would like to apply for residency, would it be the min wage for all 6?
at some consulates yes it’s required that each applicant have the minimum requirements. But don’t worry if you don’t qualify that way. As long as you the quality you can petition all of your family members in Mexico without providing economic solvency. Mexico is very pro family
Marianna, when applying for temporary residency and proving economic solvency, does it matter where the income is coming from?? In other words can I satisfy the requirement utilizing my current income from my US based employer?

Hi Marianna, I am a Canadian watching from Monterrey, N.L. I have a question about the Regularization program (without proving economic solvency). I have a documented visit to Mexico in August 2021, and am currently staying in Mexico until the end of my 180 day stay in October. I do not have an FMM, as they are no longer giving paper FMMs at the Monterrey airport. Instead, the airport staff stamped my passport and wrote the final day of my 180 day stay in my passport. Would the fact that I do not have an FMM affect my ability to apply for the Regularization program after my 180 day stay? Does it suffice that I have the end date of my 180 day written into my passport? Your insight on this would be much appreciated, thanks.
Ok, but if you're married to a mexican national and you don't have to prove economic solvency, do THEY need to provide financial solvency in the form of proving they can financially support their spouse who would be a temp resident and therefor unable to work? I am moving to a tiny pueblo in rural Jalisco and she owns her own house so we barely need to pay for anything but food and utilities. She doesn't work and I won't be able to for 2 years.

if you are retired you can apply for either temporary or permanent residency - depending on which one you qualify for. As a retiree, you’d need to prove financial solvency either through social security, pensions, investments, savings
Can I visit as a tourist while my residency is pending? I have plans to visit in Feb 2025 but want to start residency application this fall Oct 2024. should I wait to apply after my trip in Feb?
Question.....I have my passport and 12 months of investment statements. Would I also need my birth certificate and marriage certificate? I am divorced but kept my married name. My passport is in my married name. 😊 Thank you!
They only asked for the passport for me. No requirement to provide marriage certificate unless you are applying as a secondary person on another family member application.
Most consulates will only grant a permanent residency visa if you are over 60 and receiving social security and are actually retired. Most people don't qualify for permanent residency with social security alone. So if you have enough savings you can certainly try. The worst that can happen is you receive temporary residency. Which has the same benefits as a permanent residency except you have to renew it. After 4 years you can apply to become a permanent resident :)

Hello Mariana, I inquired about permanent residency for my husband and I at the Raleigh, NC consulate and received an email response that stated "Permanent visas are reserved for retired people with a minimum age of 65 years" My husband nor I are 65 years of age so we can only apply for a temporary visa?
I had same response in Vancouver, Canada. That’s why I got temporary residency. Every consulate is different. They denied a wealthy person from Hong Kong permanent residency as he was too young at 45. He said he was semi-retired but they didn’t care.

What about if you are divorced from a Mexican citizen? My mexican husband got all of his papers for USA then divorced me before I was able to get my mexican residency. Can I still get a residency visa without having to prove economic solvency?
I already have my temporary residence for the past 3 years, when i apply for permanent in a few months, i will need to proof of income or i am except because i had the residence before all of this?
I wonder if the RNE program will one day include being in Mexico during 2023?

I am retired so living expenses are minimal. Do you have to have both the income and savings or is it income OR savings? Thanks.
It’s one or other. Not both.

Are the solvency requirements for each individual, or for a married couple?
depends on which consulate you are applying in-
My maternal grandfather was born and raised in Mexico. But later became U.S. citizen. Can I apply for Mexican residency that way?
You have an FMM but it’s digital- so you would qualify for this program! 😀
Hola from Seattle Washington
If one consulate turns us down for temp residency because of $$ can you go apply at another one or do u have to wait?
you can go to another consulate right away
Ok, but if you're married to a mexican national and you don't have to prove economic solvency, do THEY need to provide financial solvency in the form of proving they can financially support their spouse who would be a temp resident and therefor unable to work?
I am moving to a tiny pueblo in rural Jalisco and she owns her own house so we barely need to pay for anything but food and utilities. She doesn't work and I won't be able to for 2 years.
No- Mexican nationals petitioning family do not need to provide economic solvency for their family members

i am in Pakistan and have mexican father but no Mexican embassy in Karachi
what if you are the child of a parent that has permanent residency can you apply through that avenue?
Only if you can prove you are their dependent- meaning you are a student and they pay for your college or that you fully depend on them.
Where do I go to schedule an appointment in the U.S. All the sites I go to are in Spanish and I see no where to sign up for an account.

@@MexicoRelocationGuide Do you help with Central or South America. I am starting to look there now.
Only Mexico for now
Are you talking about a single person or a couple?
Hola Andy- you can find more info on our residency guide. I linked to it in the comments
The Mexican Consulate website for Chicago is written in Spanish!😢
You can use google translate :)
Google is your friend
lol🎉
I emailed the consulate closest to me but they are saying they only handle certain counties. From different videos, it sounded like you could go to any consulate … is that true?
No- unfortunately not all consulates allow out of state applicants. Only some do. We recommend Las Vegas, Raleigh, Phoenix, Boise, DC, New Jersey, and Chicago for these reasons
Does mexico still offerca retirement visa or residency ? Also i want to become a citizen of mexico. How would i start that process?
Hola! we’re happy to help you determine if you qualify for residency in Mexico. Check out our free Mexican Residency Guide- mexicorelocationguide.com/mexico-resident-visa/
Hi! Quick question, I entered Mexico twice (passport stamped) would I be eligible for RNE?
see the requirements here mexicorelocationguide.com/visa-requirements-for-mexico/
So sad i came in 2022 stayed 5 months to work a seasonal job
Did I miss the retirement requirements ?
if you are retired you can apply for either temporary or permanent residency - depending on which one you qualify for. As a retiree, you’d need to prove financial solvency either through social security, pensions, investments, savings
@MexicoRelocationGuide awhile, thank you! I didn't hear that part. Appreciate all of the information!
Our family is leaving Canada for tax and lifestyle reasons. Canada, a 2 star place with 5 star prices.
Are the numbers gross or net for economic solvency?
net 😀
@@MexicoRelocationGuide Well, that certainly makes it tougher. Thanks!
Can I visit as a tourist while my residency is pending? I have plans to visit in Feb 2025 but want to start residency application this fall Oct 2024. should I wait to apply after my trip in Feb?
No- the next time you visit Mexico you would have to also do your canje. You would have to wait until next year
Question.....I have my passport and 12 months of investment statements. Would I also need my birth certificate and marriage certificate? I am divorced but kept my married name. My passport is in my married name. 😊
Thank you!
They only asked for the passport for me. No requirement to provide marriage certificate unless you are applying as a secondary person on another family member application.
Can you help me with working visa sponsorship 🙏
They will not be seeing very many Canadians retiring there cause the average pension here in Ontario is about 1800.00 a month from the government.
Yes unfortunately it will disqualify a lot of people
You all only want to been here during your horrible winters
@@hewer1953thats not true for all of us
Well done....Aloha
Are there any East Coast Consulates that will grant a permanant visa if you are 61 years old.

Yes that’s correct. It’s not an issue though- as a temporary resident you have all the same benefits.
