Hola Mariana! New to your channel from outside of Toronto, Canada.
Here's hoping that the Mexican government approves the UMAS proposal. What a huge difference that will make! We don't qualify with the monthly temporary requirements but we would with savings, even though the Consulate in Toronto says the amount is per person.
We're considering Mexico as our retirement destination but may have to go with Plan B, which is Panama.
Looking forward to an update when you have one. Muchas gracias!

I just read the current rules to qualify under the RNE Auspices for temporary residency. It's my understanding after reading the requirements that we may reenter Mexico from outside the country is this true? I have many crossings, a couple passport stamps for Cancun x2, Puerto Vallarta 😢 no mm forms to memory. (Only required for Baja Norte trip l). None required for Ensanada, Rosarito, TJ but I have Dental receipts, Hotel and Mexican Car Insurance documentation. Most is prior to 2011. The NRE Instructions state they may accept evidence other than MM /stamp. I could start the estimated 30 days stay until temp residency issuance next quarter IF the program remains. My only issue is that my passport is 2+ year expired and efforts for appointments with urgent travel failed 3x due to crisis for migrants at the boarder seeking asylum here. I had a dental emergency, purchases one year car insurance as the Passport Office suggested as proof of planned travel. It was impossible. No walkins allowed. I didn't send in documents with a reported 5+ month delay. Almost went anyway under advise my birth certificate and recently expired passport plus drivers license would get me back in the States. I chickened out. I didn't understand what you were saying disqualified the questioner from using the NRE. Have you secured any temp residencies under this program? Also, what is your San Yesidro or Otay Mesa or Tecate immigration offices (if they all have one) opinions? I would definitely enlist your services. If this program still lives in late February or March, It would be spectacular. I have future plans, Dental plans, and may need to secure a rental for my amiga. Thank you!

I walk to shop local and catch an "InDrive" to go deeper into the city. Quite inexpensive. There are also public buses in Puerto Vallarta that cost like $0.50 each way. As anywhere, I am not walking around in dark neighborhoods at night - common sense. Aside from law enforcement, I have never seen a person carrying a gun here. Mexican people have been very helpful, even if you aren't perfect in Spanish! And, they are not against renters having pets! That was a huge problem for me in the US.

Facebook-Getting Mexican Residency will be a good resource for facilitators to help in the process for getting temporary residency. The consulate process you will need to do on your own but the rest of the process can be done with a facilitator. It will be the best $150-$250 you have ever spent. They do all the paperwork , make the appt. and translate for you.
