The background is insanely strict. Max, 110 applicants go to the academy. CHP academy has a less than >50% graduation rate. And the FTO program is even less than that. A graduating class will make maybe a dozen officers.

What do you mean like people are failing because of background issues?

@@x2dab184 I would bet most of the applicants know beforehand they have something that’s disqualifying. Reminds me of MEPS with the military, they were finding medical records back from peoples childhoods.

Well in California non-U.S. Citizens can become police officers as of 2023. Who wouldn't want to work WITH the cartels instead of against them.

@@coolman54061 LOL, I remember those claims back in 2002 and 2007. You'll still pay 13+% CA State Tax, might get stuck in Los Angeles for your first assignment and good luck buying a nice house. I was making $125K/year working in IT when I left CA and I was able to buy a 1 bedroom Condo in gated community in Contra Costa County. You get a lot more house for the $$$ elsewhere. (Based on my personal experience)

@@EJ257IHI nah I’m looking at this boujee apartment for $2000 a month. I’ll be able to afford it with that salary easy. Plus technically it’s a little higher with ot. You don’t have to live where they put you. There’s good cheaper places to live right outside la lmao that’s not even the worst. Even after paying rent, insurance for phone and health, food, car, you’ll still have $4k a month to do whatever you want. If you spending more than $1k after all that stuff is paid that’s on you for wasting that much. And 100k is just starting. There’s plenty of ways to get raises and promotions

If I lived in California I would've jumped on that so fast, but the fact that I live in Florida I can't be a cop there I have to apply to be a police officer in Florida.
