Nice find! Thanks! I’ve got both tops but pretty convenient to keep handy when using the clear top. Here in Jacksonville, FL. we deal with the same hot/sun temps. Beautiful in the mornings but miserably hot by the afternoons.
I so agree. I have both tops lexan and painted one. When I switch to the painted one the car feels much different inside. Almost smaller because of the darkness. Great fit. Looks great. I think i will order one to. Thanks man.
Installed a simular top in my 1989. Living in the Southern California desert, the top liner was wonderful. I tried to install and use a static cling type in my C7 and it kept falling down and setting off my interior alarm. Your type is the best!
Wow that's definitely gives it a custom look I think that's going to be a must item for me I already have a mesh screen that's really meant for the C6 but I had to trim and cut it and yes it does filter sunlight but still it does get hot and here Miami the sun is always out, by the way remember the health comes first when you can do a video great when you can't we'll wait.
Your C5 just keeps getting better. I wish RPI did this headliner for a C6. The only ones I've seen have suction cups, which you can actually see when looking in from the outside. What I did with my C6 was use black limo tint which makes a big difference with temp in the cockpit and yet you can still see through the roof, it's just not as dramatic. Save the Wave.
Apologies if this has already been answered. How did the black out shade hold up over time? Does it start to sag or rattle? Would love to hear a review on how this held up to the test of time.
Awesome vid Chris , working while sick a real man !!! You know that was the first thing I installed on mine , mine all black in and out can u say HOT yep it works too well worth the money Thanks any way Chris more needed to know
Hey Chris, I run that same headliner in my car. I like it better than the transparent only. I also like my car darker on the inside so the headliner plus the window tint keeps the car darker and cooler inside. I'm running 5% in the hatch and 15% in the doors.
@@Debkghtulvkfjkjfxjjcj From the outside looking in it just looks black like super dark tint. You can't see the headliner at all. At least on my top that's how it is.
Great vid i have one that came with the car but its to much of a pain to put in haven't tried to do it out of the car yet but i prefer mine on in the winter time for these St.Louis winters it does help keep the cold out
That'll make a big difference in temperature. Luckily mine came with both tops so I haven't used my glass top in about a year due to the crazy heat out here
Also, where did you get your replacement top from? It looks fantastic. My clear top has 3 or 4 cracks in it and it either needs to be replaced or relensed.
I have one of these and i loved it till it started melting in high heat, it droopes down and falls out. I took it out because i got tired of putting it back up all the time. Maybe you'll have better luck
What is the deal with Corvettes ? I've had Chevelles Camaros and a couple turbo cars and my 2000 vette would out run all of them and handles much better sliding into corners and 20 mile an hour starts. But try and sell one and you get nothing but crap offers. Lol is 7000 just to much for a 20 year old car with 125000 miles on it?
@@mycorvettelife Lol it's pretty crazy for such a little beast. I'm almost 60 so Muscle cars were a dime a dozen, it was nothing to go to school and see what people today would consider a classic car show sitting in the parking lot. I guess it's good for us that want to buy them. I live in Calif and still it's only 200 for registration a year and 5 bucks extra a month for second car insurance. I drive from the valley to the coast at 70 and get 20 plus a gallon.
Sweet ride!
you probably have the best C5 on youtube. I think your channel would blow up if we could see more scenes of the car driving and reving.

Sounds mean! Love that start up.
Nice installation Chris. That will dial back that desert heat some!

LOL thanks for the post. Now I can take my cardboard cut out down and replace it with something nice!
Nice job Chris. I'm still looking for a good used transparent top. Get well soon buddy!
Todd Johnson I appreciate that Todd! Been looking but most are in pretty bad shape... scratches etc..

Hi from Puerto Rico corvette club
You must of been reading my mind. I was on the fence as to whether or not I should purchase it. You've decided for me. Thanks.

Look forward to more videos chris in the future and get into the house and rest buddy, you still look under the weather....hope the baby doing well
Thanks! Just what I need.
Hey Chris, nice addition and I hope it'll stay put under high speeds.
😏
Looks really good Chris.
PS. Car sounds amazing 👍
Just got my c5 about a year ago and this summer was brutal so I was looking for options but this one is now discontinued.

That's ok my C5 actualy came with 2 roofs and a leather sheath to put the unused one in the painted one makes it look like a different car

Found a used one locally.
Not sure how you don’t smile when you lay into her haha headliner looks great.
Concentration face
@@mycorvettelife haha i've seen it before
did you have to trim any of the tabs on the RPI Designs C5 Targa Roof Liner im having trouble getting it to fit
No.
Looks great Chris, do you see the white on the top side from outside the car? I would assume that the tint is dark enough to cover that.
No you don’t see it.
How well has it held up so far? I’m looking to get one for my husband.
Still doing great.
I'm new to your channel but can someone please tell me where he got his wheels and possible specs. Thanks
Everything about my car is in the description of the video.

I’m concerned about that.
What's the name for the small strips/decals above the wheel? That's a popular style these days, I kind of like it. Wondering what the term for it is.

How comfortable are the a4 seat on long trips?
Great
Hey man! Love the videos! I have an 01 z06 and I really want to buy the wheels like you have on the car! What are those?!
They are OEM C6 Z06 wheels.
@@mycorvettelife Those are the speedlines?
Yes
How do you clean that transparent top? Mine is all flaky
Sounds like it needs to be refinished or have the acrylic replaced.
Can you tell it's there from the top side?
No
Fits and looks nice but a pain to install.
Recent improvements such as insulation, carpet, and now the roof liner have taken the edge off the interior sound, you must be getting older.
If I cared about noise, I wouldn’t have a cammed Corvette. But there is a difference between good noise and bad noise.

I bought mine for $8,000. And if it’s an auto trans, good luck. No one wants them.
Details on the car? Manual?
