Hello, thank you for sharing your experience with the program. Currently, I am considering whether this exact program is right for me. Your video was really helpful and will definitely help me to make a more informed decision.
Hey, I am looking at studying this Masters, I really want to learn more about how we learn, neuroplasticity, roles of neurotransmitters and neurobiology, are these topics covered in this Masters? Thanks 👍
Hi, yes, these topics are covered in the module named “Biological Foundations of Mental Health”. Neuroplasticity featured in the module, but mot heavily. The other topics were included in depth. I hope that answers your question. If you have anymore, feel free to ask
Hi, I’m starting the program November 1st, bloody hell, will I have to learn these formulas such as Nernst Equilibrium Potential, Goldman-Hodgkin and Katz Equation? I mean…WTF???? 😣😣😣😣 I wasn’t expecting that! GEEZ… Please tell me this is more is essay based????? 😮
Hi, don’t worry, it is a sway based. The essay makes up 70% of the marks, and the exam is 20% with 10% participation in the forum. The exam is online, so it is open book. You can have the equations next to you. You only need to know how to use them, you don’t need to remember them. Also, I don’t remember having to use them to calculate anything in an exam. If they do ask you, it will only be one question, so don’t worry too much about maths. Hope that helps. NeuroscienceAfterDark.com
Thank you for your question. Yes I do to be honest. It’s not the same online. But I can’t take the time out to do the ironically attended course in Neuroscience so I must make do haha. I don’t think its a good deal to be honest and it can only improve with competitions when the other big universities run their own online Neuroscience programmes, but it’s a good way to get and MSc form a prestigious university on your CV which is why I still attend. I hope that answers your question.
I am interested in Neuroscience however my grades are acceptable for online course but not in person. As someone from a computer science background interested in Neuroscience and not so much mental health with perhaps further study at PhD, would you recommend this course to me? Is this stimulating and challenging ? Also, what particularly impresses me is the institution is world renowned so that's a massive plus for me.
Hey, thanks for sharing your story. Are there any modules on neurodegeneration or is most of the course focused on the mental / paychological part of Neuroscience?
Thanks for commenting, I appreciate the support, Apologies for the lateness of this response, future responses will be faster as i have sorted some career issues out that were a bit of a problem and were making me lazy haha. There are no modules on neurodegeneration. Some cases of Psychosis contain neurodegenerative aspects so that could be an exception. I have made a video reponse for you at the following link, ruclips.net/video/B_-wsBDXNlM/видео.html. Thanks again for your comment and support
Hi, Id highly appreciate it if you’d help me by replying- I am thinking of doing this as a masters degree but my undergrad i business, is this suitable to switch to neuroscience and do phd afterwards? Thanks
Hi, yes it is suitable and is a good move if you want to do a phd in a related field. However, I think you are better off doing an in person masters if you want to do the PhD. The teaching is better and it’s a better experience. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask follow up questions
Hi. Please let me know what the career opportunities are available when you finish this masters course. Can it help you in anyways if you want to become an educational mental health practitioner (EMHP). It would be very helpful if you could give reply. Thankyou
Hi, I think this course opens up more ways to sell yourself to a range of jobs. It is not like an economics degree where there are a range of companies that want the specific degree
Hi, so as a person aspiring to become a mental health counsellor and specialise in the field of children and adolescents- is this course suitable? Pls help.
Hi, I don’t have a simple answer so I made a video explaining what I think. Here is the link ruclips.net/video/PaQtyvjzhms/видео.html If you shave anymore questions, feel free to ask
hi! would you mind sharing about your application process? I just applied for the November intake. Am wondering how long it'll take for them to give me an answer.
Hi Ellie, I have made this video in response; ruclips.net/video/rO2qmM5C1yk/видео.html. Thanks for commenting and please visit NeuroscienceAfterDark.com for more.
It's a very good course but I think it's extremely overpriced. A standard 1 year Neuroscience MSc at King's is around £13,500. But this is £18,000. Although it's 2 years, the lectures are reused so you're effectively paying for someone to makr your essay and provide some support and meetings. Like I sadi, it's good and necessary for someone like me who cant leave work, but very expensive considering how much more you get by attending in person. My undergrad background is in Civil Engineering BEng from The University of Birmingham. I failed and got 38% overall which counts as a "pass degree". But I've come a long way. My grade for the first module was 51% (my first ever academic essay was terrible), for the second one was 62% and I am getting the grades for module 3 today and I am expecting higher than 62%. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at neuroscience@sigmund.science. If you'd like to read my essays from this course you can find them at freudianneuroscience.science/essays
Hi I’m from an entirely different field but am considering this course as well. Just curious are you planning on changing your career once you receive your masters ?
Hi. Yes I am looking to become a Psychedelic Therapist once it becomes legal. I have made the following video highlighting what motivated me to change the way I look at the brain and psychology, ruclips.net/video/RgpyfNqs_JM/видео.html
Hey, I have competed the first four modules and look at it slightly differently, but a lot of what I say still stands. I'll make a video about it over the next few days. If you have specific questions, feel free to email me at neuroscience@sigmund.science and I'll get back to you
Thank you for all your feedback. As a seasoned clinician in a variety of specialties I’ve recently developed an increasing interest in focusing solely on nueroscience. In terms of occupational opportunities I’ve debated not moving forward with the MSc program and pursuing EEG certification or long term monitoring certifications. Are these modalities covered in depth in the applied program?
The feedback, really sincere and appreciated. Thank you.
Thank you for watching

Hi . Whether the teacher will help to clear my doubts. And live class will held for distant learning students
Hi, yes they do, but they are not very helpful
Is the online learning platform and the courses materials provided by KCL? As some of the online masters in other university are provided by Kaplan..
Yes, all of it is provided by KCL. Nothing from external providers

Hey, do you still look back on this MSc in the same way? You sound kind of negative about it and it’s making me doubt…
