Thank you for sharing great information. Regarding Personal statement, do you remember how many words you wrote? max word count is 4,000. Just for my reference.
wth
Hi, thank you for your video :)how would you rate your course so far, how are the study materials? I've read online, that the lectures been recorded in 2016/17 and haven't been updated since then. Is that true? I would love to study applied neuroscience or the neuriscience of metnal health, but if they haven't updated the course material i can't justify 22 grand for a masters. Did you finish your masters at the end?
I am enrolled now, starting in September (2024). I did have my doubts - and some persist; my greatest concern was this program is not exactly "true" neuroscience - it is really watered down to say the least. In my case, I already work in mental health and accessibility, so it will help me professionally. But the lack of a PhD program just tells me its a cash cow for them. And I doubt any other school would consider it as a foundation; and even if they did, might get slaughtered if you do not already have the "hard" neuro behind you. Not sure on that point though.
I have got an offer and doubts same as you also. I did not expect to have a course qualified as much as a course on campus. I am still suspicious to get into it. Online master is really expensive than on campus version. Did they arrange a welcome call? Would you share your first insights?
@@nihanaydemir Yes, I cannot complain about how I have been treated. And in fairness, I knew this program was a "lightweight" neuro program - and only because I am not going into academia, it suits my work as an accessibility officer.
Why would you eat something, that looks like a cockroach?? Even Hanafi’s don’t eat that
It's prawn big version
@@MK1001-wr5yjPrawns don’t have claws. And even Hanafi’s don’t eat Prawns
@@raidersinthesky so what's halal
It tastes good init. And all seafood is halal
@@neuroscienceafterdark just because it says “all fish from the sea are lawful for you to eat” doesn’t mean you should be eating crabs, shellfish and what not. Allah gave us minds to think, to know what’s good for us to put inside our bodies. Even Hanafi’s agree
Is that electric stove bro ? What heat setting that on 7 or 8
It is, I don’t like it to be honest. The gas ones are way better. I think it was like 7
Where the fuck is the seasoning? Disgusting!
Looked interesting but they dont even answer enquiries, bad sign
Yeh, the admin offices in most universities are pretty bad to be honest.
On this one, despite similar concerns about the program, I will give them credit, the service I received was pretty good overall.
Hi! Interesting video. I am thinking of enrolling into this Applied Neuroscience MSc. Any books or resource recommendations before actually starting the studies?
@neuroscienceafterdark
Hi, sorry for the late reply. For neuroscience, I would recommend brain computations by Edmund Rolls. For psychology, I would recommend Carl Jung’s ‘The Undiscovered Self’ and ‘Psychology and Religion’
Hi. Please let me know what the career opportunities are available when you finish this masters course. Can it help you in anyways if you want to become an educational mental health practitioner (EMHP). It would be very helpful if you could give reply. Thankyou
Hi, I think this course opens up more ways to sell yourself to a range of jobs. It is not like an economics degree where there are a range of companies that want the specific degree
Sorry for the late reply, I haven’t been using this channel
I’m a native Texan living in Germany, and I haven’t had a good steak in over a year. I envy you, sir or maam.
Thank you for the compliment sir. Your first guest was correct, it’s sir, not maam haha. Yes, I have heard that those germanians don’t know about steak. They know about sausage, but not steak.
No sear?
The seat on the other side was better. But this side curled up so didn’t get as much of a sear
That was an absurd amount of salt for a steak that thin. Your supposed to salt it, but that was way overboard
A lot of the salt comes off in the pan, so I add extra to counter this. Also, the butter is unsalted, hence I make up for it
@@neuroscienceafterdarkbut the salt stays in the juices in the pan so in reality you don’t loose saltiness your just adding more for no reason
Accurate 🥩 + 🧈
😂😂😂
Title delivered with no lies or clickbait. I can confirm this is steak and butter
😂😂😂
You talking about pain processing in the brain yet you didnt even kill its brain instead dismembered it. I dont think thats the way to do it
I am interested in Neuroscience however my grades are acceptable for online course but not in person. As someone from a computer science background interested in Neuroscience and not so much mental health with perhaps further study at PhD, would you recommend this course to me? Is this stimulating and challenging ? Also, what particularly impresses me is the institution is world renowned so that's a massive plus for me.
That lobster head was moving even well after 5mins and into the frying pan.
Prob muscle memory
So animals have their own afterlives? Is that in the quran?
Lobsters and cockroaches are related. They come from same family. Jews dont eat that.
😂
I think you should do the basics again. Cockroches are from class insecta and lobsters are Malacostraca. Although there is an insect which was said halal by Prophet Muhammad PBUH which is locusts. So whats your point ? Locusts are even more resembling to lobsters even though they are from different class.
never had it before but maaaaan! really wanna try it.
It’s soo good. Any good quality fishmonger can get you them
Maybe you were suffering from some sort of adhd?
Interesting take. I made the video a few years ago so don’t remember what I said. I think there are a lot of ways to be successful and to achieve things today which makes it harder for people to make choices, making it seem like ADHD is common. Looking back, I had choice overload and was struggling to find the next route to success, making it harder to focus on the things that I did choose
Hi, Id highly appreciate it if you’d help me by replying- I am thinking of doing this as a masters degree but my undergrad i business, is this suitable to switch to neuroscience and do phd afterwards? Thanks
Hi, yes it is suitable and is a good move if you want to do a phd in a related field. However, I think you are better off doing an in person masters if you want to do the PhD. The teaching is better and it’s a better experience. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask follow up questions
How long does each module take?/How often are payments due??
Each module takes 6 weeks. There is a 2 week gap between modules so modules start every 2 months. You have to pay before each module, so payment are paid every 2 months. You can skip a module and pick it up later if you want a break from studying. In that case, you would pay for the module just before you start it
⛳ "based on my own interpretation" ⛳ produces book on DMT to make own interpretation of islamic practice - i didnt watch further. Brother, there is aHadith about the end times, of taking knowledge from people whom or not scholars of deen. It is one of the signs. While you 'could possibly' be correct, the principle of the matter still stands - it could end up in people trusting other non-credible sources, and so on and so on. My advice is to remove your video akhi - or change your to something like "my opinion on how lobster/seefood should be slaughtered" But like anoher comment said,"all seafood is already halaal" according to aHadith, that is more trustworthy imo. Wa alaykom assalaam brother
I’ve said nothing wrong. Yes, I said it was my interpretation, but i didn’t say I am a scholar. The reason I sued my interpretation is because I could not find any methods of slaughter for lobsters. Yes, they are seafood and all seafood is halal, but lobster are alive and I didn’t want to boil it alive. The book on DMT was by Rick Staussman, who explained that DMT is produced and released by the body in our brain region upon birth and upon death and MAYBE, upon death, it is the mechanism that allows for entrance into the afterlife. For this reason, I wanted to illustrate that the brain of animals should nit be damaged when killing them to allow this process, if it is happening. The fact that halal slaughter requires the slicing of the neck with no damage to the brain, and studies have shown that brain processing continues in dead animals and people long after death encouraged me to think that maintaining the brain structure is important when slaughtering any animal. This is all I was trying to illustrate
Listen here Ahmed, I just rewatched it and I now feel that if you actually watched the video, you’d find that the method is exactly the same as a standard halal slaughter. The ‘my interpretation’ should have been ‘my understanding’ but I only had one take so couldn’t exactly buy a new lobster to redo the video. The DMT book was to show the scientific reasoning of why the halal method is a humane method of slaughter to the atheists so that they don’t start whining, but I never referenced the book when explaining the halal method. Next time watch the video before commenting.
Stupid - this isn’t how to Humanely slaughter a lobster.
Key words: ‘based on my interpretation of how it should be done’. No need to watch beyond that sentence.
Listen here ‘Zonder gel’, if you actually watched the video, you’d find that the method is exactly the same as a standard halal slaughter. The ‘my interpretation’ should have been ‘my understanding’ but I only had one take so couldn’t exactly buy a new lobster to redo the video. The DMT book was to show the scientific reasoning of why the halal method is a humane method of slaughter to the atheists so that they don’t start whining.
Thank you🙏🏼
Hi . Whether the teacher will help to clear my doubts. And live class will held for distant learning students

Thank you for sharing this.

Is the online learning platform and the courses materials provided by KCL? As some of the online masters in other university are provided by Kaplan..
Yes, all of it is provided by KCL. Nothing from external providers
thank you for the video, just wanted to check which one will be more helpful understanding Mental health problems like eg.Borderline Personality Disorder, bipolar, adhd. Im still contemplating between Applied Neuroscience vs Psychology & Neuroscience of Mental Health MSc.
Thank you for that question. I don’t think it matters at this stage. The first 4 modules are the same. Whichever course you are one, you can switch to the other easily after the first 4 modules. So I would worry about it too much right now as you will be in a better position to know the differences at that stage
Thank you for the informative video
Thank you for watching
Salaam-Alaikum brother. What I was taught as a muslim is that all seafood is halal no matter how it is killed. Even if it is killed by a non-muslim, it is still permissible. Growing up in Malaysia I never heard anyone utter Bismala when killing a lobster or a crab, because the common view was that seafood does not need to be slaughtered, you can simply kill it in any way you choose. I am not a scholar and I am not saying that my view is necessarily correct, but I am interested in your opinion on this.
Salam brother. Thanks for the question. I was also taught this and I agree. However, I feel that if you are going to kill it yourself, you may as well follow the same process of halal slaughter as land animals. It is also practice for land animals in case you have to slaughter one some day.
@@neuroscienceafterdark Salalm brother i think this is a bidah cus it wasnt done by mohamed saw, and he never said to do it so this has nothing to do with islam. make sure to ask a sheikh befor making this cus alot of people will see this viedo and think they have to do it this way.

Not all sea food is halal because the poisonous one is haram Wales and sharks.sharks are haram because they eat people and what’re ever jumps in the water but wales is haram to eat I think it’s because of junus
Have a 2:2, this video gave me some hope, but I'm not from the UK and am currently blank with my SOP.
You can get in easily with a 2:2, especially this course. Make sure you’re application letter is good and it shows that you are smart. That’s what they are looking for. The 2:1 requirement is more of a guide. They know that smart people who have lower grades will apply anyway, which is why they accept most of them. Read my application letter from the link in the description if you’d like to see an example letter

Hi mate, Thanks so much for these videos.I have been scouring the web for insights into this MSc. Would you be able to give take on it as I look to start next year but concerned with the lack of analysis / statistics that are being taught. As well as how it portends to career switches. Thanks for your time man! Sola
Thanks for the positive feedback mate. I have made the following video answering your questions: How can Applied Neuroscience MSc Improve my Career Prospects? And is Statistical Analysis Taught? ruclips.net/video/P42Nm27ZzhQ/видео.html. NeuroscienceAfterDark.com
@@neuroscienceafterdark Mate, I am humbled man. Can’t believe you made a video. Proper gent. Watched and will re watch. Real insights & very kind man. Apologies for making you google portend ha. Hi, I’m starting the program November 1st, bloody hell, will I have to learn these formulas such as Nernst Equilibrium Potential, Goldman-Hodgkin and Katz Equation? I mean…WTF???? 😣😣😣😣 I wasn’t expecting that! GEEZ… Please tell me this is more is essay based????? 😮
Hi, don’t worry, it is a sway based. The essay makes up 70% of the marks, and the exam is 20% with 10% participation in the forum. The exam is online, so it is open book. You can have the equations next to you. You only need to know how to use them, you don’t need to remember them. Also, I don’t remember having to use them to calculate anything in an exam. If they do ask you, it will only be one question, so don’t worry too much about maths. Hope that helps. NeuroscienceAfterDark.com
Crocodile is definitely enjoying this she even definitely smiling. Ahhhhhhhhh bless this is so sweet 🙏💖👌🙏✌
Where’s the context ?
Andrew tate.... isn't white?
Most interesting brother, I suppose showing the lobster the knife is more okay because it might not be able to process it, but I would recommend that next time you keep the knife covered until it is needed
That’s a good point actually. I forgot about that. Thank you for that bro. I’ll remember for next time
Thank you for the video, I know you said you just finished the first 4 ... but later on would you please talk about those 2 compulsory modules in applied neuroscience? I currently have 2 degrees in psychology and clinical psychology and I'm working in a neuroclinic dealing with Neurofeedback and Biofeedback and brain stimulation... that's why I'm not sure which one to pick. My 2 previous degrees are from Iran... I know I need more knowledge in neuroscience but I also worry that if I switch to applied neuroscience my career options would be limited later .
I will make a summary video for each module. For you, I would recommend doing the neuroscience modules. It won’t limit your choices in the future as the corporations just need to see that you can think and write. However, the neuroscience modules seem more useful for your current job in the neuroclinic. I’ll post the summary video link here when it’s done
Hi, thanks for the video. I'm struggling Choosing between Psychology and Neuroscience of mental health vs applied neuroscience... could you please compare these two?
Hi, thanks for the question. They are mostly the same with the difference being that the Applied Neuroscience MSc requires you to complete 2 specific Neuroscience Modules. I made this video that explains it in a little bit more detail: ruclips.net/video/LRXuVOZisCI/видео.html. I hope that helps
Hey, do you still look back on this MSc in the same way? You sound kind of negative about it and it’s making me doubt…
Hey, I have competed the first four modules and look at it slightly differently, but a lot of what I say still stands. I'll make a video about it over the next few days. If you have specific questions, feel free to email me at neuroscience@sigmund.science and I'll get back to you
Thank you for all your feedback. As a seasoned clinician in a variety of specialties I’ve recently developed an increasing interest in focusing solely on nueroscience. In terms of occupational opportunities I’ve debated not moving forward with the MSc program and pursuing EEG certification or long term monitoring certifications. Are these modalities covered in depth in the applied program?
Hey, I am looking at studying this Masters, I really want to learn more about how we learn, neuroplasticity, roles of neurotransmitters and neurobiology, are these topics covered in this Masters? Thanks 👍
Hi, yes, these topics are covered in the module named “Biological Foundations of Mental Health”. Neuroplasticity featured in the module, but mot heavily. The other topics were included in depth. I hope that answers your question. If you have anymore, feel free to ask

You’re welcome
Thanks a lot for making these videos. There is a real lack of content about the course out there. Weird, you buy a car for the same amount and you can see everything. On this course it's the complete opposite.
You’re welcome. If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me at neuroscience@sigmund.science
