The process in this video is traditionally referred to as "Freezing" a track. Just don't delete your MIDI track if you think you'll need to edit it later. Also, try to manually save your work with a different name (like thatfirebeat1_001. thatfirebeat1_002 etc.) periodically so you won't accidentally lose that midi data, and you should be fine with freezing.
