Mexico had a chance of becoming the China of the American continent if it would have gotten into manufacturing goods a lot more aggressively , instead of assembling cars for big manufacturers they should build things that Americans use like appliances and construction equipment , their labor wages are low enough to compete with China if you factor in much lower shipping costs , they border the biggest consumer in the world and they don't know how to take advantage of that .

Nat Geo is horrible on reporting on the issues with and around this 100 year long drug prohibition. I've never seen a report from Nat Geo that explains how the war on drugs is useless, costly and dangerous!
Instead they show you all the fallout without context, with the goal to make you believe that drugs are to blame for the existence of cartels and not useless laws or outdated, harmful drug policies.
It's shameful really and no one with any journalistic integrity would put out a piece on this topic without that message.

To anyone saying ‘legalize drugs, that solves the problem’- let me remind you that would only create millions of drug addicts across the country. Drugs can cause psychotic issues and permanent physical damage. Just because you legalize something doesn’t make it better. We could legalize burglary too and we wouldn’t have to arrest people for it but you do know what’s that would do in society right.

And decriminalization is different from legalization. Decriminalization is much better but remeber you have to have the means of getting people off drugs, which we need more of. More rehabs, more treatment options and better public care for all states, that’s what helps.
