Besides the crank at TDC. Do you know if the bottom 3 gears require a specific TDC type of line up or can they be in any position when I slap a new chain on it along with new guide rails?

Any parts of the engine that you found could be improved on with aftermarket parts? I know the pistons are a weak point but as you had the engine apart, wanted to see if you found any other points that could be improved.

Do you know if C250 W204 M271 is a non-interference or an interference engine. In other words is there a gap between pistons and valve at TDC, so that in case of breaking timing chain the walves are not touched or bent by piston hitting on valves ?

have you ever had an M271 engine from mercedes that had problems with oil thinning, or gasoline in the oil ?he always drives long distances, around 100 km a day and It s just the way it is, I renewed the chain, renewed the camshaft adjuster, because the chain had lengthened and the camshaft adjusters were bad . after 10000 km the engine makes noises again. I changed the oil and removed the noise but the oil is full of gasoline. do you have any idea?
