50 some years ago as a kid in school I fell asleep to this song in the summer with the radio next to my head. I opened the windows of my room, got off of the bed and laid on the carpet under that window and turned it on low while the breeze blew through that window. What a magical time.

Bob Seger reminds me of my dad who passed away last year. He loved his music. As a child I listened to a lot of his songs with my dad. I’m 48 now and life seems like I’m running against the wind.
@@helentomlinson5801 Hello. Hellen you have such a profound impact on Bob Seger's career with your comment, love and support. A thank you text would fail to express our gratitude to you, we love you.Bob Seger would want you to write him a personally thank you note, My name is Jacqueline and I happens to be his personal communication manager.
First saw Bob Seger in a club downtown Vancouver - early 80's LOVED SO MUCH our group convoyed to city two nights in row dancing stomping shouting for joy each set. Funny the club had disco regulars who invaded the floor each set break. Year later Bob played club in Chilliwack saw few times there - Foosball was big so highlights of the night was head to head facing Bob n drummer, best of three to see who holds the table. Wicked guitarist wicked foosball. surreal moments
His music has captivated me my entire life. Like a lot of other fans my age ( 50’s ) I grew up listening to Bob S and the Silver Bullet Band. I went and seen him in Vancouver Canada 27 years after my mom seen him in 78 in the same city. Rocked out the whole concert. Don’t my ass hit the seats the entire time he was on. Love the guy and alway will
My dear brother’s favorite female country singer. She was before our time, but he told me he first heard her angelic voice in college ❤. My dear brother left us in March of 2000. As his birthday approaches, December 31st, I am listening to all his favorite music including pasty. I Miss you my dear brother Drew, I know you are up in heaven listening to that angelic voice you fell so in love with ❤️🙏.
i've seen a lot of the big rock acts going back to the early 70s. just about all of 'em. some folks like to go camping or reading ; i love concerts. east coast, west coast, europe, US, and canada. bob seger and maybe carlos santana were the best shows -- no BS, great bands, great music. i don't think i could ever get tired of bob. this song resonates in '24 just like it did back in the 80s.
I have never seen you in concert. Up here in Edmonton. My Brother and I grew up with your music. My Dad had Against the Wind on 8 Track in our Ram truck in the 80's. Better days.
He came through Omaha 2 times in the last 10 years. Me and my wife went to both, the second one I ask my wife if she noticed anything about the crowd? She looked around and said not really, I said everyone is old...I don't care how old I am, this man's stories carried me through both the good times and the bad. In my mind the best singer storyteller of all time!
Yeah, I'm an old dude now, been loving Bob Seger's music/lyrics for decades, especially this song! Thank you for putting this video up for us all of us to enjoy! Now, for Spring to come so I can get back on my Harley and ride against the wind!
Just listing to the songs of my teenage years, realizing it was truly the best time of my entire life. Just like Bob says, “I wish I didn’t know now, the things I didn’t know then 😔”. No greater words were ever spoken for life reflection. But hey, on the bright side, there’s always next time around. Hopefully I learned my lessons this time so I don’t have to repeat it 😳😵💫🥶😱💀😉!!! Thanks for all the great memories of my ultra fun teenage years.
He toured for year's before he was taken seriously. I guess that hard humble determination has kept him grounded and greatful all these year's. He's written song's that inspire and reflect life. As it is. Hard disappointing sweetness and regret but so much love and stronger.......because he didn't give up
Saw Bob on his farewell tour here in Chicago. One of the most underappreciated lyricists of our times. Grew up in Detroit with his music and didn't really appreciate him until I got older. Better late than never, I guess. Watching his last show here was very bittersweet.; I was glad I was there, but sad it was the end. Father Time remains undefeated, but it was a hell of a show.
Nothing else has caused such a deep change in my life like this song. I have described it elsewhere : It was in the summer 1980 a July morning in the car listening to the radio on the way from the hotel in Bad Homburg to a computer course in Frankfurt the speaker announced the latest hit of Bob Seger (for me than unknown) "Against the wind" I listened to it with not much attention but when it come to the line "I think I lost my way" it was like a lightening from heaven straight into my heart - it described exactly the spiritual situation I have been back then but untli this very moment I did not understand what my problem really was - a seeker trying this and that but nothing gave me a real answer. And now Bob Seger was sent from Heaven telling me - my friend - you too have lost your way. With this clear formulation of my situation I started seeking and in the end came back to my religion, to my people, to my country, to my God. Today I'm 73 and still listening "Against the wind" almost every day and - yes - me too - every listening causes me tears
Thank you for sharing your story sir. I hope that others realize that true satisfaction with one's life requires connecting and bonding with others in an honest way - not the acquisition of all that is material. How many rich men have true friends? They would find out if they were to lose it all. ("Surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends")
Back in the 90s I was a deputy sheriff in northern Michigan. Bob was flying out from the airport and he locked his keys in his car. I got it unlocked for him. A great guy.
Not many people out there covering his songs, as he is still playing them after all these years. I grew up listening to Bob Seger, and literally every song he wrote relates to a season in my life. He epitomizes rock and roll in the 70's, still, even today. And his songs have stayed relevant up to present times. A true hall of famer, one of the guys that will be musically immortal.
Tears just flowing for this 38yr old man. He's my #1 musician of all time. But, why didn't I ever attend his concerts?! I've been traveling the world, but why and how did I forget about him? I google'ed his concert, only to find out he's not touring again 😭
Bob will forever be the best musician ever. He touches your soul deep down. I first heard him in the late 70's. I'm 62 & looking for posters of him! His music will live on forever.
When I listened to this back in the late 70's start of 1980 in college in N Ireland I didn't even know what Bob Seger looked like.I didn't need to,the music spoke This song in particular is printed deep in my 17 yr old heart.I shall see Bob Seger in concert one day.I owe it to my broken heart
Jane McGrath Oh Jane it has been a year and I hope life is even better !! Bob got me thru so many things ... Somewhere Tonight as well as this song... so many things ... so many songs ..I’ve seen him 8 times and everyone was classic...hope your heart has healed my friend !
This was the song. My buddy and I spent so many nights driving around looking for babes in the 70s and 80s. This song always brings it all back. My buddy died last year. He looked so much like Bob Seger, we used to play Seger's songs on our guitars. I miss it all.
I wasn't from his Era, but thanks to my mom for dang near craming music like this through my ears all of my childhood, I understand and appreciate the lyrics and musicianship of Bob Segar. I'm 34 and feel like I'm running against the wind as he would say. Ive been playing guitar and trying to sing for years now. It's all worth it! I. One back to these songs frequently just to go down memory lane. Thank you Mr. Segar for all of your music.

Bob Seger reminds me of my dad who passed away last year. He loved his music. As a child I listened to a lot of his songs with my dad. I’m 48 now and life seems like I’m running against the wind.
Bob's talent came from his father, and his roots in Michigan.
He absolutely was the the voice of us old timers... I'm glad I raised my kids on it, so they "got it" too...
I'm sorry for your loss. You will see him again no doubt about it. At least here. Stay strong 💪 my friend. Stay strong.
@@helentomlinson5801 Hello. Hellen
you have such a profound impact on Bob Seger's career with your comment, love and support. A thank you text would fail to express our gratitude to you, we love you.Bob Seger would want you to write him a personally thank you note, My name is Jacqueline and I happens to be his personal communication manager.
Snap Hun...stay strong..x
I was there celebrating my 70th all the way from New Zealand. Actually recorded it myself as well. Awesome lifetime fan of Bob!!!
Such a awsome singer songwriter seen him many times. My family bought me tickets for this show for my 50th birthday. Love this man and all his music.
Yay for you lucky duck Happy birthday!!!
Love the guy and alway will
I'm 75 and still running. Never ends.
This is poetry, timeless poetry. Some music gets old and irrelevant. This is timeless.
i've seen a lot of the big rock acts going back to the early 70s. just about all of 'em. some folks like to go camping or reading ; i love concerts. east coast, west coast, europe, US, and canada. bob seger and maybe carlos santana were the best shows -- no BS, great bands, great music. i don't think i could ever get tired of bob. this song resonates in '24 just like it did back in the 80s.
Lucky to have been raised by 2 big Bob fans. This album was absolutely the soundtrack for my youth as they say
Grew up in Michigan in the 80s. Seger was a god. Finally saw him in 2012. He peed his pants in the encore. The roll model shattered.
Yeah, I'm an old dude now, been loving Bob Seger's music/lyrics for decades, especially this song! Thank you for putting this video up for us all of us to enjoy! Now, for Spring to come so I can get back on my Harley and ride against the wind!
Simply the best! His songs can take you back to simpler days. True story teller. My favorite male artist.
Wow, I grew up in the great 80's listing to Bob, he sounds just like he did then....Awesome!
100% Classic
All of Bob’s songs are AWESOME.
Love & Respect xx ❤❤❤
I was at his last concert in Va Beach. Great show. ❗😘❤️
Love ballads, rock and roll, life stories. Awesome. Respectfully and thanks.
I traveled with BTO and Bob Seger in the early 1970's. Great guy.
They just don't get better than Bob Seger.
Hello Judy!
Thank you for being an amazing fan.
Comments like this are priceless, Thank you,
it's nice meeting you here.
Oh so long ago, I lived this song. Still running against the wind.
You still sound fantastic Bob You're awesome!!!!!!!❤
As great as ever! Age just doesn`t affect this mans talent. Love you Bob!!
FaerySeeker well said 100%
No kidding!
Never a truer word spoken!
Seen Bob 10x. Once by myself, young child said, " mommy he kn own all the wo
Nothing else has caused such a deep change in my life like this song.
I have described it elsewhere :
It was in the summer 1980 a July morning in the car listening to the radio on the way from the hotel in Bad Homburg to a computer course in Frankfurt the speaker announced the latest hit of Bob Seger (for me than unknown) "Against the wind" I listened to it with not much attention but when it come to the line "I think I lost my way" it was like a lightening from heaven straight into my heart - it described exactly the spiritual situation I have been back then but untli this very moment I did not understand what my problem really was - a seeker trying this and that but nothing gave me a real answer.
Great testimony
Meiki Lev ditto... Many of Bobs song are like they were written for me and how I lived...
Thank you sir for sharing that.
@@rogerdean5313 I think that is true of many of us!
The lyrics genius, I think he wrote everybody's life story; an American Icon.
Bob Seger has cranked out a lot of great music, his songs are great.
Oi Bob Amo essa musica beijos Berenice
Back in the 90s I was a deputy sheriff in northern Michigan. Bob was flying out from the airport and he locked his keys in his car. I got it unlocked for him. A great guy.
Not many people out there covering his songs, as he is still playing them after all these years. I grew up listening to Bob Seger, and literally every song he wrote relates to a season in my life. He epitomizes rock and roll in the 70's, still, even today. And his songs have stayed relevant up to present times. A true hall of famer, one of the guys that will be musically immortal.
One of the best songs of all time & that piano solo❤❤❤❤
Tears just flowing for this 38yr old man. He's my #1 musician of all time. But, why didn't I ever attend his concerts?! I've been traveling the world, but why and how did I forget about him? I google'ed his concert, only to find out he's not touring again 😭
My mom loved his music she died at 85 years old and we played this song at her funeral. Will always love bobs music
Great, great song.
We are blessed to have had the pleasure of this man’s talent.
All my adult life I have listened to Bob. I feel very fortunate to have lived this period of time and have this music run through my veins.

What a talented man.! in this concert, his age was showing and his voice sounded gravely..His talent is so amazing....!!
This man is total class and his voice and songs are timeless... love you Bob from Canada 🇨🇦 I
