I’m 71 ,72 in 3 months. I had some rock like qualities back in the sixties and seventies but not my arthritic hands are like rocks. The nostalgia almost wrecks me when I listen to the music of my youth. Loved bob seger ,John Prine, little feat-- I could go on forever. I hope the young people of today feel the rush of invincibility and unbounded hope that we felt when we listened to the music of the sixties and seventies. Sometimes when I work with young men and women I’m astounded by their power and reminded for a moment what it was like.
As I listened to this song I thought, damn, Seger is a National Treasure. Then I started reading comments and ran across yours’. Apparently we have very good taste. There’s no way we are wrong.
I was a young Private in the Infantry when I was 18. We were strong, lean and like a rock. I’m in my 60s now, at my last unit reunion I had some beers with my old comrades. The years have taken their toll and Father Time had not been too kind to a few of them. This is one song that the 18 year old Private listened to but really didn’t understand the true meaning of the lyrics…now I do.
Like a Rock is a bitter sweet song. Its a timeless rock classic that sounds best at "11". It also reminds a 70 yr old like myself, how far I've come on life's journey. Thanks for the memories Bob.
I was happy to see Bob singing 'Like A Rock' in the old t.v. ads for Chevrolet trucks. My favorite (General Motors) automobile industry, and one of my favorite singers getting together was great to see and hear. Bob Seger's awesome hit song, 'Night Moves', brought back many fond memories of my teen years, and my old Chevy.

I love this song especially in them old chevy commercials, my dream truck is always an old mid 80's chevy silverado square body I'd like to rebuild one of those and take my wife out on a date in one.
Never got to see Bob after he hit it big. Was fortunate to see him open for Foghat in 76 at the International Amphitheatre in Chicago. One of the best sets I have ever seen. He could rock with the best of them. But it is his ballads like this, turn the page, and night moves that really puts one in an introspective place. One of my favorite artists of all time.
Few days ago I fell off a ladder flat on my back and somehow didn't break my neck but now I can't ride my big two wheeler for God knows how long but I still got Bob's music. ♠️
Esse música desde de 2012 me faz chorar. Assisti o filme O sol de cada manhã ( The wheather Man) onde música faz parte da história onde Nicolas Cage tem um distanciamento com seu pai Michael Caine.
