fugg yes, however they want like nw money for em, oh bo these auctions re ridiculous, the more they sell for the bigger their fee's so they want at times BETTER than new money for em, flooded or not .. no jokes
I suspect that C8 wasn't actually flooded, looks more like it got hit by a landslide\mudslide. So trashed exterior and possibly some external bits n bobs that'll need replacing but otherwise (mechanically\electrically) 100% in good condition.
I was already taking it apart. First the doors and interior, drain all the fluids.. etc. That can still be a nice ride just by cleaning and replacing the essentials.
@@Lyingforcashidk, you can see when he opens the trunk and the doors that muddy water has been in every little crevice, it just didn't make it past the seals. Mudslides are also extremely destructive, they're filled with boulders, trees and whatever else was in it's path. If it was a mudslide that car would look like it had been in a major accident. My guess is the car was probably parked in a flooded building or garage. Got flooded with muddy water, banged into by other stuff in the garage that was floating. But it being brand new the seals were in really good condition and kept the water out of the interior. I watched a different video of a guy that had a car in an enclosed trailer that was flooded and it looked kinda similar, covered in mud and minor dings from an electric bike, gas cans and few other stuff that was in the trailer with the car.
Sought after because around 95% of them rusted away to nothing after 5 years, I had one myself, nice car but back then there was no rust proofing on the chassis.
Mike that 2024 is the one I would love to get! It will for sure be a lot of money once you are all in! However I think it probably has the most potential to be a good car! And a really cool car to boot!
That Rx7 is nice. It was my buddy’s car. It’s super low mileage and a very good car. The reason they totaled it is to be done right the whole car needs to be repainted and it was a lot to have the car disassembled and painted so they just decided to total it. But it’s very good mechanically me and him took it to Virginia, and it made several trips to West Virginia and back.
the C8 is probably the best bet. looks like an easy repair for the most part. that MGB was late 60s early 70s with the plastic bumper covers. 65 was the last year for the chrome ones. it would also be an easy repair. those little cars are highly sought after and there's a huge community to source parts if needed. I wish I had the ability and starting money to go to one of these auctions. I'd take that C8 and MGB home in a heartbeat. get the MGB road worthy and sell it so I could fix the C8 and keep it as a daily. with all the mud, I couldn't tell if it was a Stingray or Z06. I think it was the base Stingray though.
The 2nd car I wanted was a purple Charger. My cousin got one so I got a canary yellow '71 Duster, 340. I'd say go for the Corvette or the purple Charger. Good luck. 🍀 Saw the RV. It's really nice. Guess I had better check on your last video. Looks like no Corvette. I had an old blue one, last year they made the round back window but that clutch was so hard to use.. Ughh.
hi niko brothers I sent you an email last week please look at it, and bid on the mazda rx7 right handed drive, I would love to see that mgb on the channel bid on it, bid on the c3, and bid on the 1931 ford
Even with the mud and debris that blasted into it, it's still a beautiful car inside and out. a little repair work on the bodywork and a big detailing this would look amazing on my driveway 🤣🙏
You should buy the MG that is a classic and so simple to work on. If people cannot get on with that then the classic car world is not for them, a good starter classic and a fun car. 👍👍
The first Corvette you looked at the red one it probably was in a parking lot and a flash of muddy water probably went through the parking lot and just cover the car with muddy water, but never floated
I can't believe on how that Corvette looked so clean on the inside. Sure must be some good sealing preventing water & mud getting inside it. I'm asking Myself as why was it written off just due to the mud on the outside of it. Insurance companies most have had to pay out millions of dollars for lost vehicles in that flood.
Modern cars are loaded with electronics, and in those that's all ruined. Only the parts like wheels, some body parts and so on can be re-used. But there are always unscrupulous buyers/sellers who will try to unload these cars beyond what they should be used for.
That car has been started multiple times before he got there. I live in Asheville. My SUV got flooded, and IAA drove it 15 miles to this exact location. Now it’s in Concord.
That Vette wasn't under water, that car may need a paint job and some minor body work but that car is not a total loss. Starts and runs translates to no water in Engine or Trans, someone is going to get their dream car at a discount.
And if the electronic issues don't surface now...just give it time. Flood damaged vehicles are never a good buy if you're looking for a bargain...unless you flip it....then it's the other guys problem. 👎
A friend of mine had a pristine 87 Nissan x that was completely flooded during the storm. He was the original owner and it’s probably in there somewhere too.
I feel like they either just put a lot of extra dirt on top. So that it would be easier to get it from the insurance company & hopefully you didn't blow the engine up by starting it and having water in the oil because if it was underwater, it definitely needs the oil changed before you start it. Lol
I had a red 71 Vette like that one, in 71, brand new, the year I graduated from High School!! 4-speed though, as they should be!! LOL I liked the C7 best! "America's" sports car is front engine, rear drive. The C7 had the latest 7 speed manual. I just can't warm up to the C8. I get it though, they just should have done both, C7 and C8, our choice!! 8) Peace --gary
And that's how you rip people off. Wire connections turn green and loose contact and you have electrical problems. You get water in the engine and small debris causes rust and engine problems. And the trans the same way. I know a few people that got some of these from water damage to them. They turned out to be junk.
The problems will show up in about a year when the wiring starts failing, then the ECU and the mold starts to get hazardous. By then its in Iowa or Nebraska with a repair bill for more than the car is worth. Living in Texas we saw a lot of them from south Texas & Louisiana.. Dealerships will change the salvage title to a clear title. Buyer beware!
i was wondering what type of people would be coming here preying upon the crisis for gain...and here you are..your not alone.ive drawn down several times in the last month on people like you...
😂😂😂 sooo you expect people to not buy these junked out cars because it’s in ur backyard? Or did you have the money in savings to go buy that corvette? Otherwise I say stfu 🧚♀️.
If not him someone else would, the original owners hopefully got insurance money. I've bought flood cars usually just for the drive train the sold the car as scrap.
My I would not start without looking at at the engine, one start could ruin everything, even stuff that’s not damaged, even a few seconds. Possibly a super good power wash and ALL fluids & filters changed and you’d have a decent ride, otherwise starting you could destroy it.
There's just no way I'd want a flood car. Especially if it was flooded in sea water. It might be running well now. But down the road, many of the electrical connections will probably become corroded. It could be electrical problems after electrical problems after more electrical problems with a car like that. That sand and silt gets everywhere, nearly impossible to get it all out. My uncle lost a couple vehicles when the Nisqually river flooded back in the late 90s. They were both completely submerged for days. He was able to get the 76 F-150 running and driving good as old again, but that was old school carbureted straight 6 300. His 87 Dodge Daytona Pacifica Turbo was a whole different story. The shop did get it running again. But the transmission went out a short time afterwards. He got that replaced, then the Turbo went out. Then the digital dash quit working. He had a wrecking yard digital dash installed and pretty much immediately traded it in after that. There's a reason why flood cars are usually just totaled. It would be literally impossible to guarantee the repairs. Plus flooding voids the factory warranty. Another thing that I would like to add. When they removed the speedometer/tach cluster, there was silt and sand behind that too. What a mess.
You can keep your car & buy it out as salvage for about 10 to 15% of its value before it even goes to the yard ....it saves the insurance company money as well
@@garyb6219 You don't mind taking a guys truck who lost it in divorce or hard times due to health, etc....but draw the line with owning a car the insurance companies took a loss on? Take a look at your morals.

100% go after that green MGB convertible classic care. highly sought after

Not really i see them for sale for 6k all the time there is prolly 10 on marketplace in my area

The beauty of a flood damaged MGB is that it doesn’t have electronics! 😁
I am amazed how well that corvette sealed up
Wow! That red corvette is a diamond in the rough!
Never mind that MGB being flooded. They always had mositure in them! Driving along with a warter dripping on to your feet as standard.
The nylon in the seatbelt webbing loves water, mold and mildew love water. The three are a perfect match for growing a a mess.

Beautiful MBG in British Racing Green - the appropriate color on a nifty car. Far sexier than the orange Porsche.

Now that you have post. It may or may not go high. But the repair appears minor
Which one?

Just a bit of surface dirt. Nothing a lil elbow grease and a spit shine won’t sort 😜
Even if that Vett needs a paint job, I'd go for it!!
Looks like it got caught in a mud land slide and it was pushed with the mud. That's why the other side is clean.
Watching from Louisville Kentucky
Save the old stingray 😮
That is so risky. If you send power to anything that is still wet, it's fried. That Corvette is a miracle.
I really would love to see you guys working on some cars again.

Such a tragedy what happened to all the people in Western NC. They still don’t have reliable clean water unless it’s bottled.
That C3 Vette might be a keeper!
If Freddy can rebuild a flooded McClaren P1, then this Corvette should clean up nicely!
The C3 would be my choice. Such a beautiful car with massive upgrade potential. The C7 is also a nice choice being the z06 package.
Its fresh water that got the hellcat drain oil new oil probably fine
