The fit and finish is my favorite part of your videos. The clean, overall lines are way more attractive to me than fancy pattern welded steels and rare wood. That center ridge running the length of the piece is fantastic. That's not easy to do with multiple parts.
As a guy new to the knife crafting realm, it’s a pleasure to watch you create your blades. I learn many things from watching your videos, and i know the video and editing part can be a pain so I’d like to thank you for your effort. Cheers mate!
Freek this is a beautiful piece of work. The acabord is amazing and well made. The dagger is one of the best I have ever seen and your video is perfect. Good work my friend. Thank you
I have said it before and will say it again you make some incredible stuff, watching you make the scabbard, then the end results I am in awe. Thanks for taking the time to share what you do with the rest of us, you are amazing and these videos are outstanding.
Your craftsmanship is truly outstanding to create such a beautiful piece that is worthy to be in a museum that nobody would know that you made it recently. Absolutely great work thank you for sharing your work.
I am a cleaver, I have 1 year of experience in the field. I want you to know that I've been following your videos, and I'm learning a lot with you. Thank you, my friend. São Paulo Brazil
Wow! You Sir are so inspiring. I get so relaxed watching you work. You remind me of a old video I watched about 7 yrs ago. The blacksmith was commissioned to craft a long sword for the tourism ministry of a country I can't remember the name of. He did amazing work like you, including a egg shaped pommel carved from ivory of a elven maiden emerging from within the egg. With an onix grip. Turned out he was allergic to onix dust and had to premedicate before working it.
Freerk makes the kinds of blades I wish to make one day. And thank you for making your blades a home. A blade is not finished in my opinion till it has a sheath or scabbard to rest its edge in. Beautiful work.
to the normal person it looks kinda simple, but being a knife maker I can honestly say its beautiful, the line all the way down the center is literally eye candy
Great video, I am always surprised by your skills when it comes to making the wooden handle. Giving it its shape by just using an angle grinder and a sander is really amazing.
Beautiful dagger, sir. When I saw this, I instantly thought of Carnwennan, King Arthur's magic dagger, which had the power to cloak its user in a field of shadow.
Been thinking about forging a piece of coil spring into a dagger. I love my pumicecrete rocket stove by the way and thanks for the video. I needed this.
I’ve always admired your videos for how thoroughly the footage is, demonstrating every step taken and the artistic stylings of your craft. I am especially impressed with how you create the handles of your blades, watching you work is a learning experience. But may I suggest you try making a blade of a non-Western origin? I specifically suggest that you try to create a Filipino barong with a full tang handle, as I am curious how you would construct it, as the barong is typically a blade with a “rat tail” styled handle. But this is only a suggestion from a random dude on RUclips, so do whatever you want! Keep up the good work!
Sir Remington another eastern blade that I really like is the Vietnamese Tr'oung Dao - although at first glance it might look like some over the top anime sword, it's extremely good at cutting due to its unique top-heavy design. Skallagrim did a review of an antique he got, if you'd like to see it being used.
@@kdolo1887 it was actually fairly common for Knights to match their main arm and their sidearm especially since nights we're almost universally rich in the Middle Ages and those that words were high ranking military officials that were given the best of the best arms and armaments
Beautiful!! -- I would make some suggestion about your workings, though. No.1- wear leather gauntlets over your long sleeves and sweaters. They will keep your garments from catching in your power tools. They will also protect your wrist from hot sparks. No. 2 - you did not show (in this video) how it would be attached to a belt. How would you make a "frog" for this sidearm? -- One note that I have read in the past; Quite a few daggers of this type were made from broken swords. A swordsman would have a weapon that he particularly like, but it breaks, so what to do, make a dagger to go along with his new sword. But this is a very BEAUTIFUL dagger, and well made, Thank you for sharing the build!
This is what I'd call a very satisfying video, no words just a master blacksmith creating something truly beautiful. thank you.

It's amazing how much you teach thru your videos without saying a single word. Thank you for your dedication to the craft.
Just remember when Knights, dragons, shields and swords come back, I'm on your side! Beautiful job there my friend!
Damn dude, you're talented. I can only imagine the endless hours at a forge that allowed you to become this skilled.

You do some amazing work my friend - this turned out beautiful!
thats not very difficult.. the difficulty is to make it not heavy and strong ;-)
Many modern smiths hold vintage weapons and marvel at their lightness. That's the Mark of a real combat knife or sword.

Awesome work, as usual. I love how you make the different elements of your handles and guards blend together so smoothly.
Such a work of art. Love how the spine continues all the way to the pommel
Absolutely beautiful, a true artist and professional well made.

What a beautiful craft. Rarely done like this anywhere in the world today, thank you, much pleasure in watching this craft materialize.

Whats a cleaver?
You even take a coffee break with more creativity than I do!! Love the blade!! Great work as usual!!
job well done worth every bit of effort dagger and scabbard looks awesome
As an goldsmith i really can appreciate the amount of skill, time and workmanship in a piece like that. Well done
As always, a work of art.
The effect of the leather wrist wraps, wool sweater, and that funky respirator is definitely Steampunk!

This is exactly the type of blade I've been looking for, nice work mate!
Truely a masterpiece

I gotta agree with all the compliments here. This is the knife I would make myself and want the most.
just love watching this guys videos what a great black smith and craftsman .
That is one of the nicest daggers i have seen. Not to flashy and looks just fantastic.
15:59 that may be the first noise you have made in one of you videos. 😀 Very nice dagger! Congrats to the new owner!
Philip Greenawalt Thank you, I'm so excited to see it in person.
The scabbard came out really nice as well. Love how it matches the handle on the dagger.
This is probably the most beautiful knife I've seen...great work...Im a fan!

Man, that’s worthy of having a master engraver go at!
The sound on the anvil is super satisfying. You can tell most of the energy of each blow is being used to deform the metal.
Good tools, amazing art work, great job. You are the man bro.
I'm so glad that I subbed to your channel. Amazing work as always.
A Master at work! Beautiful piece! Worthy of any Knights arms!
That is a extremely beautiful dagger I would love to have one like it.
Really like you showing custom made tooling to make the job easier and more precise.
What a beautiful piece.
Great video. Thanx for posting.
That's a castle forged dagger if I've ever seen one! Real work if art mate! Thanks for sharing
That is the coolest dagger I've ever seen! The quality is unbelievable! That is what a king would carry.

I wish I could buy every weapon you make, as always great work
Watching this really makes me grateful for modern casting, but also really respect those who shape metal the hard way.

That blade is perfect. Wonderful work, Freerk.

A stunning example of art and skill :) Im a lover of the knights of the old code and I would ware such a dagger with pride :) excellent well done.

Хорошая работа, молодец!🤗
This is a beautiful solid piece. I would be confident having ro rely on it.
Very impressive piece. I admire your work.
Absolutely adore this piece. The proportions are exquisite.
Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship
Another great result, I love the way the projects finsh.
Просто супер. Руки из нужного места. Такую вещь и подарить не стыдно.
That is some mighty fine, simple, and beautiful work!
Its the prettiest dagger ive ever seen
True craftsmanship right there. A beautiful piece of work

I like this piece the best, so far. Would love to see something similar in Damascus, and some furniture on the scabbard.
Glenn Worton Would have been Damascus if I could afford the extra cost. Sorry. I'm super happy with what Freerk made though!
sman7290 Yes I am, thank you. I'm so excited about it.
Just an expression of my preferences.not a criticism. It's a superb piece that i would be proud to own.
Man, you are an alien ... If you have a mill, you pick your grinder)))
you do great quality work - from a fellow metalworker
Absolutely beautiful work , you should be proud
Классный кинжал. Но наковальня больше понравилась. и вообще, добротная мастерская.
Понравилось, что среди множества клинков мало кто делает кованные долы. Но вот ТБ при работе с болгаркой -- просто жесть.
It's wonderful to watch a master at work. Such a beautiful knife.
The scabbard is just as lovely as the dagger.
'A' Top of the class a fabulous build.
Wonderful piece... what about your touchmark?
I was thinking the same thing!
Your work gives peace of mind. True art. Thanks alot.
This is an outstanding build i love it wish i could buy it great work.

Gahh... if I could only afford it, I'd love that beauty of a piece. 😍
Wonderful work. You, sir, are a true artist.
What a beautifully crafted and balanced dagger. Anyone would be ecstatic to own it.

Total length, blade length and weight Freerk?
As usual, really nice work!
Very beautiful piece of work, will there be a sword to match it?
There is already one go watch his great sword witch is actually a long sword but oh well
Hopefully someday I will be able to get the matching sword. That's a cool idea.
Knights didn't get all matchy-matchy with their sidearms. That's sooooo 500's
