Really I am stunned how good he played here. God bless him. Its like he is playing smart and thinking tactically. And is playing all over the court. Whereas all these recent grass matches I've watched, people are remaining to play their baseline style. Whereas De Minaur is adapting to grass. Really good on him!
Its as if he really thought deeply after losing in French Open and also seeing Alcaraz win like how can I better myself and boost myself. So its good that he is flexible and willing to change and adapt.

De Minaur must be the most frustrating player to play against. Just when you think you're on top in the rally or played a winning shot, he keeps chasing down shot after shot after shot and makes you hit another shot. The only way to beat him is in a BO5 match in the hope his Duracell batteries will finally run out of power. 😂

So proud of Alex. All life asks of us is to maximise what we have. Many of us here don't achieve that. He's done very well. A career better than 99% of players. I noticed at RG that he hit numerous serves over 210km with one at 218km. Definitely hitting the ball harder for a smaller guy. Unlikely to ever win a major but he will win more titles than most of his peers and retire at around thirty or so, as a wealthy young man .A more successful career than any of us here. And more important than all of that, he's a fine human.

Not sure if Korda just wasn't feeling the footwork on the grass out there but sure seemed like a lot of balls he simply let go by. 😬

Genuine question for the Dutch: how accessible are grass courts in the Netherlands? Do you regularly play during the summer season as an amateur/semi-pro?
In my country we only play on clay during the summer and grass courts are very rare and much more expensive.

Points that never could have been played at vintage Wimby but whatever the case this was great stuff. Korda lacks a Big Weapon. De Minaur kinda does too but he's just a bit more assertive in general these days.
