@@mikeyyyy9253 Personally the Beast X, but purely because of the size. I’ve said a few times if Akitsu had a mid or large size i’d be maining that 100%
awesome review! I got my ulx when it dropped, which I assume was before the other two were released. I honestly don’t have any problems with it, but if the other two options existed beforehand, I would’ve opted for them after watching this review. Also, finalmouse dongle also does have a battery life indicator by turning different colors depending on battery life!
Thankyou for the kind words! Very true it does, I forgot to mention this! I don’t typically use this feature much as it’s a little un-intuitive for me personally, and the akitsu’s implementation is simply far clearer, but for some this may be enough!
great video, surprised you dont have more subs. quick question, what would be a good replacement for a logi g305? i want something much lighter and something to learn claw grip better
Thanks a lot I really appreciate it, only starting out with these, more than happy with where I’m at rn! I’d recommend you use the website eloshapes.com to help you find shapes that are similar, or fit the profile you’re looking for! In general for claw I’d recommend the Ninjutso Sora, or a Lamzu Atlantis, but these are more high budget options - using the website you can compare these to others too though!
X-Raypad and Ghostglides make very good skates If you want speed get the X-Raypad Jade Air Pro skates, balanced get Ghostglide Cyclones, more controlled X-Raypad Obsidian Air Pros. Unswgear make some fantastic skates (silver fox and black fox), but I haven’t personally tested these yet
I think you might need to pickup a pro series ulx or the new prophecy version as they use the blue shell switches and ultimately feel better though thats my opinion lol. was the main reason why I got the Tarik addition and feels way better with blue shells switches as mentioned
own all 3 mice as a fingertip main, akitsu is pretty good compared to ulx but the new ulx competition just outcompete it interms of coating and build quality. the akisu dongle is prettty sick tho
Unfortunately my checkout didn’t work with the comp so I can’t compare it personally, but based on what I’ve heard from people, at least the QC is still a bit of a gamble with finalmouse - batch 2 Akitsu solved quite a few issues people had
@@mxwllstI’ve been pretty lucky with my last couple FM but the way I look at it is if I want the FM shape I’m going to buy FM. If I get a bad copy then I’ll just RMA it. The newer ones are much different than the batch 1 ULX and I just prefer mechanical switches. Especially the feel of the newer BSPD’s on the comp.
The rocketjumpninja (www.rocketjumpninja.com/) website is really good as a starting point especially for exact measurements - you can then use eloshapes to fine tune and find a mouse that works!! Mice like the x2h mini are a good place to start for small clawgrips!
Are the Ultralight weights actually accurate now though? I remember at launch, everyone measured in their mice to be much heavier than what they claimed
@ Good to hear, although I'm more interested in the ULX Cheetah as it was the mouse (upon launch) that had the furthest weight away from their advertised, as well as the mouse most similar to mine (BeastX Mini)
While I haven’t haven’t used it myself, it looks like a decent budget magnesium mouse. I do think you can probably get better performing mice if you’re looking PURELY at performance, but it’s cheaper than the options listed in this video, and should do pretty alright for you!
@@mxwllst Thanks man! Yeah I live in Canada so Its about 99 CAD here, but I was able to use a coupon and got it for 75 CAD which comes out to 52 dollars USD, so I think it's a pretty decent deal, I was limited to amazon so everything on aliexpress was out of the question unfortunately.
The shape is somewhat different, and I’ll be honest I haven’t used it myself. For the $100 price, I would honestly either save up a little more to afford either of these options, or go for something with a different shape (if that isn’t the main factor for you)
@Zinbou1 if you are considering an r3, look at the atk fierce x instead. Identical mouse except better build quality, better sensor and better switches
@@YaYa-ex8cuI have the original beast X for about a year or so now. No major issues. Only issue I can think of is when I need to charge it and plug it in, it’ll lose connection wired. Almost as if the wire is damage or something. Once I move it a bit, it’ll get working and won’t happen again until I need to charge it in the future.
Main problem is just availability really - most pads are currently limited editions making them quite hard to get outside a few like the Wallhack SP-004 If all you’re looking for is absurd speed, I would try and get a “The Beast” or “Guardian” preorder from Tekkusai, if you can’t get those then the SP004.
Absolutely, if you’re a casual gamer who doesn’t need or want to spend money on the more “premium” options, there are plenty of options which will do. But those aren’t the type of people that products like the ULX are aimed at truthfully. There is some difference, if minimal, in terms of things like click latency and sensory integration which will never make a difference for casual gamers, but for enthusiasts and competitive players, there absolutely is a difference
I think it’s placebo personally, because of the material. The weight difference is definitely there, but the fact that the Beast X feels more solid makes the brain perceive it as heavier I think (maybe i’m not a neuropsychologist haha)
Maybe the finalmouse I’ve used have just been unlucky with QC, will see how my prophecy turns out! Input latency you’re probably right, I don’t have an LDAT to test, build quality in my experience FM has been considerably worse than the others
I just can’t support 1:1 Chinese clones. Especially when it’s still $150. At least make your own shape. ULX competition is pretty 🔥 ngl. Last few releases have been a lot better than first ULX batch. Solid sides, amazing BSPD’s, new UV matte coating is probably the best I’ve felt my any company lately. I get it if you need a mouse now and can’t wait for one of the 3 FM drops per year or can only can’t afford the extra $45 but if you can just support the originators. Same with other brands too. Feel like the market is flooded with budget Chinese clones.
I don’t necessarily disagree, but when drops are so limited there will naturally be companies that take the shape and put their own “spin” on it, to satisfy the portion of the market that can’t get the shape. I do think the WLM and Arbiter offerings aren’t just 1:1 copies, but have some unique aspects too
@ I agree with most of what you’re saying and I think most companies do a good job of just taking “inspiration” from others and then making some tweaks (maya x, xlite, x2, Atlantis etc) but the beast x shape is 1:1 with the FM shape. It’s like their whole goal was to make a replica to be a replacement rather than tweak the shape to make an alternative. It’s like taking the GPX, keeping the exact same CAD file but changing materials, structure, components etc without making a single adjustment to the actual shape rather than starting from scratch and making something similar with your own twist. So to me WLmouse is just a clone company that built their whole brand off taking someone else’s shape rather than a company like Lamzu/pulsar that took inspiration and made their own “unique” twist on popular shapes.
@ Even though the shape is 1:1 the mouse isn’t. Materials, sizing, sensor implementations etc are all considerably different. The Razer Viper 8khz is essentially the exact same shape as well, but nobody calls them a ripoff
@ I understand your point but the problem is specifically the shape and the intricacies of that shape. FM and Razer each created their version of the zowie fk1. They might be similar overall but they aren’t the same and don’t feel the same in hand. A nip here, an angle changed there or rounding an edge makes a noticeable difference in how they feel, specifically to the side profile. WLmouse didn’t make their own version of the fk1, they made a carbon copy of the FM version. The profile is exactly the same except they scaled the whole thing up 1mm so it wasn’t an exact clone. It’s actually pretty rare for companies to do what WLmouse did as most companies want to make their own version that they think is better, not create a replica. I prefer the FM shape over the viper shape but I can’t even tell the difference between FM and WL bc it’s exactly the same. Shape is the one part of a mouse that’s “artistic” for lack of a better word. It’s the part that makes it unique. Components, material sensor implementation is just the equivalent to a different trim level of a car or like making a replica of a Jordan with different materials. I agree with your overall point of accessibility, just wish they would have at least made a small tweak to the shape like 99% of other companies do.
iirc, the original finalmouse classic ergo uses an OEM design by motospeed. I still remember Jude (fm PR) hyping up and defending the Scream One on the overclock forum. then there was the whole phantom and ninja branding.. fm's always been about changing up people's homework and selling via artificial scarcity. if that's what the new kids want, sure. but to me, who doesn't even like holes in mice and wouldn't want any of this stuff, more accessibility is always a good thing.
Some people just REALLY enjoy the specific shape of the finalmouse, which the Beast X and Akitsu copy near perfectly. Also the materials are a lot more premium feeling than the plastic shells of the Lamzu mice. If you’re going purely off performance, many cheap mice are absolutely sufficient though!
Bc they’re not the same. I like lamzu and I used the Atlantis for a long time. Then I got the xm2w and thought “oh wow… this is a completely different tier of mouse.” That being said, I would have been completely fine with the Atlantis had I not ever tried the EGG.
I have to disagree to be honest. For a first mouse release, nobody should expect perfection. Batch 2 fixed many of the issues with batch 1 and has massively improved QC. Meanwhile finalmouse has been having the same QC issues almost every drop for the last 2-3 years, despite constant feedback. There have been minor improvements, but nothing close to what you’d expect from such a “premium” brand
love my Akitsu! best mouse i’ve ever used by a mile. anyone having sensor issues, updating firmware fixed it for me.
Thanks for sharing!!
