The danger ranger is the American version of the Toyota hilux top gear tested and never died.
Vodka is 40% ABV, so the other 60% is water. Very surprised that engine would run on it... I had a NIGHTMARE scenario back in college where the sorority chick that was driving had water in her gas tank. Conked out going to & from PSU. Can't imagine it was anywhere near 60% water situation though...
My guess for next episode would be Everclear, but you'll have to cross state lines out of PA to get the 95% stuff.

I’m going to go ona limb and say that the “magic touch” is just a more comprehensive familiarity with a specific vehicle to the handful of times a mechanic may operate a clients car.
Kinda like those old school motors where you hear the operator say, “if ya start it up cold, ya gotta smack it twice and hit the primer three times, cuss under your breath and it’ll start up on the 5th try.”

Just discovered you yesterday. You're one of my favorite RUclipsrs already. Great stuff and hilarious. Just subscribed. Side note: this truck is a great testament to 1990's Ford quality. They made some indestructible vehicles back then, this truck being one of them. I know he is a Toyota guy but I would love to see the car care nut inspect this truck.
When you get pulled over and they ask you if you had something to drink you can always pull out this and tell them "no but the Ranger had waaaay too many" 😂

Great video Mike !!! We did similar in the early 80s w a dodge dart. Swear she was running only on 3 cylinders at the end. We could not destroy the transmission. (3 on the tree) so the dart...valiant....and ranger are basically the top 3 cars /trucks that can take severe abuse.

That German 2.3 4 cylinder is a beast. I had a 1991 back when I was 16....and should have never sold it. However tune ups were a rough as it has 8 spark plugs

I run my non flex fuel vehicle on E30 fuel quite a bit. Tried E50 once, thought the rods were gonna go thru the block or something, so added some E10 to bring it down.. That being said, drinking alcohol does have some water in it, unlike the ethanol at the fuel.pumps.

The metal you found in the last video is the bearings coming apart. That could be why she's struggling in spots still as there is probably very little bearing material left as vegetable oil is not a very long lasting lube. I'd recommend the bearings be replaced if you plan on keeping it a while. The engine is unfortunately getting close to locking up

My grandparents had a green 1992 Ranger 2.3 4 cylinder 5-speed manual back in October 2008 and they sold it for a ‘92 Geo Metro in March 2009.
Condensation buildup in the carburetor of older cars, can be caused from using "lower" proof alcohol, as the water content isn't fully evaporated, so it just builds up and eventually flood the carburetor. Could that be the issue?
This is a 2nd gen Ranger, I think with a four cylinder. They were phasing out carburetors in favor of jettronic and injection during this generation. I tried to look under the hood in one of the previous videos but I can't really tell if it's fuel injected or not. Obviously condensation is not great for injectors either.

I believe vodka would run the truck happily, but you would probably need ideally a different air/fuel ratio to petrol, so changing idle control and spark plug gaps and I guess carb tuning would probably have it running much better than what you got it to. I knew it wouldn't kill the truck before because it didn't crank, which isn't a fuel issue. Look forward to seeing more experiments on danger Ranger!
You should try out methylated spirit or antispetic (something flammable)
