    I noted your repeated use of the word "chill" and I took it to heart. I've done lots of research in preparation for my visit, but your informative video and its message gave me pause. I'm an avid urban bicyclist in Chicago, and simply spending my days pedaling around Copenhagen may be way more entertaining and beguiling than I'm currently anticipating.

    Hi Adam. First of all, thank you for the detailed videos about Copenhagen. I watched your previous video about the attractions as well and took some notes about the places to visit. I will visit Copenhagen in February and my flight back home will be early in the morning. I wonder if it is really safe to take metro at 3-4am at night to the airport. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks in advance.

    • @thenordicadam
      @thenordicadam  10 дней назад

      It is perfectly safe to take the metro at night. Of course, always be mindful in general but I wouldn't think twice about doing it.
      Thanks a lot for watching - I hope you have an awesome trip.

    Great video! Will be visiting Copenhagen for a couple of days next week, will definitely take the tip to not overplan and just relax to experience the city. Just wondering how the temperature will be as from what I understand this summer is quite weird (quite windy and not as hot). Thanks!

    • @thenordicadam
      @thenordicadam  4 месяца назад

      Sounds great! These days, it's raining quite a bit, but then this weekend it was crazy hot. So it's really all over the place. You can probably expect some rainy days (or it will likely rain on and off throughout the day), some sunny days and it looks like it'll be around 20 degrees on average.

    I'm watching this video already having been to Copenhagen and I'm happy to discover that based on simple common sense, I did most of the things you recommend. I agree with another commenter here: there are many videos on youtube about Copenhagen do-s and don't-s, but this is definitely among the best!

      @@thenordicadam It was fantastic! I fell in love with the city. Especially the fact that you can ride a bike everywhere. My town, Budapest is getting there, but it still has a loooong way to go. 😁Plus, you have some cool record stores and I don't know how Copenhagen is the only city that can do/afford it, but I saw Marcos Valle's gig for free at Reffen - another really cool place that is off most tourist's radar when they visit.

    I will visit kopenhagen next week, du you have any recommendations regarding local fish restaurants (nothing fancy, just like mamas best homecooking with local fish and seafood)?

    • @thenordicadam
      @thenordicadam  4 месяца назад +2

      Hmm, Im not too sure about mamas best homecooking.. That's not really a thing at restaurants in Denmark, as it just is expensive to eat out - so I guess most people just want something a little fancy when eating out..
      However! Have a look at some of these, perhaps there is something to your liking:
      - Torvehallerne. A food market, also serve a lot of fresh fish.
      - Det lille apotek or Kanalcafeen. These are 'smørrebrøds'-restaurants. But we eat a lot of fish with these - probably the most 'mamas cooking'-like.
      - Krogs Fiskerestaurant.
      - Kødbyens Fiskebar.

    I’m spending 4 days in Copenhagen after a fishing trip to Greenland in August.
    I’ve been in panic mode trying to work out what to do and not waste my time there!
    Any recommendations on some nice places for accommodation that aren’t over not expensive?

    • @thenordicadam
      @thenordicadam  4 месяца назад

      That sounds fantastic! If you want the cheapest, you'll have to look at hostels - The Steel House is a great one. If you want an actual hotel room, have a look in my free guide on which area to stay in, in Copenhagen. There, I have several hotel suggestions - in various budgets: subscribepage.io/wheretostayincphguide

    • @1hoseeman
      @1hoseeman 4 месяца назад

      If you can afford a fishing trip to Greenland, it rings silly that you can't pony up the cost of visiting Copenhagen for a few days. YOLO, dude.

    Great list and tips - Thanks. I look forward to the day trip vlogs.
    Next time I go to Denmark (might be a while), I want to try Danish remoulade. Is there a particular brand you recommend I get when at the grocery store? I have looked for it at many "International" grocery stores here in the US but no luck. I am thinking of getting a bottle via Amazon.

    • @thenordicadam
      @thenordicadam  5 месяцев назад

      For me, there's no particular brand. All the bottles are very similar (in my opinion). However, the best remoulade is the homemade one that many 'smørrebrøds' restaurants have and serve with the food. Some supermarkets do sell a 'fresher' version too.

      If you plan on visiting a lot of the included museums etc., and take public transportation a lot, then maybe. But if you visit just some places and do a bit of walking around too, then it might not.
      You could try to use the calculator on their website - just take the result with a big grain of salt.

    Really helpful, informative video, thanks! I'm planning to visit Denmark in May 2025 and plan on staying 12-13 days (two of those days will be travel). Is it possible/practical to make day trips to Sweden and/or Norway?

    • @thenordicadam
      @thenordicadam  3 месяца назад

      Sounds awesome! And absolutely. Norway is too for away for a day trip, but Sweden is perfect. Malmo is just a short train ride away and there are several other cities you could consider as well. Like, going to Helsingør in Denmark and taking a short ferry ride over to Helsingborg in Sweden.

      March is usually pretty cold. Like 0-5 degrees C is probably the norm. If that doesn't bother you, it's great. If it does, waiting until mid April or May will help quite a lot.

  • @brasiliania
    @brasiliania 4 месяца назад +2

    1 If you don’t know how to bike in traffic, don’t do it, is not the same as biking in a park.
    2 NEVER bike in the sidewalks, that’s what the bike lane is for unless is specified by a sign that the area is for pedestrians and cyclists.
    3 Do not use the bike lane in the wrong way. Bikes are transportation, just like cars, bad accidents happen because a lot of people are really biking, not cruising around.
    And last, do not block passage, doors, sidewalks, garages etc parking these rentals bike, is very annoying and just make the locals hate tourists.

      @@Uunartoq2018 because we don’t bike around for fun in Copenhagen we commute on our bike. For many living in Copenhagen it’s our main form of transportation. Therefore the pace and way we drive is not for tourists to be on the biking lanes, and many tourists don’t get that and that in it self can be very dangerous not only to tourist but also locals.
