That's looking great! I'm new to this hobby, and glad I found this channel. I wish you'd show the actual masking and putting in the decals as well! I could learn a lot I think.
I’m so glad I’ve discovered your channel. I’m currently recovering from a broken back and have been reminiscing about the Hornet I had in the late 80’s. I’m so jealous! Would love to build a F1 car especially the f104w chassis as I love the vintage f1 cars. I had thought of building one as I recover but with losing my job during COVID & now my broken back funds are too low, but hey! Such is life. Thank you for keeping me entertained. 👍
Great work on that body, the hours of masking and painting have really paid off! Using those real life sounds in the driving part of the video is pretty nice too, perhaps Tamiya should make a multifunction sound module for this car, replicating the 2.5 litre diesel sound and call it the MFC-90👍😊
Personally the 3D printed chassis swap is not worth it. If I wanted that I would just get the CC02 (oh wait. I got that one too). Swap out the suspension to a 4 link and upgrade the steering and dampers.
The CCO1 is my favourite Tamiya kit, I’ve got about 6 of them. I never liked the green, but the blue looks fantastic, with the chrome wheels ,decals and white roof.you should fit the tamiya white barrel springs, the kit springs are way too firm, the softer springs makes a huge difference to the handling. Don’t forget, the CC02 is a crawler, where the CCO1 is a trail truck.
Great video, I have the Cc01 Land Rover, I really like it, I take to different places to film it with slightly different trails, keep up the filming, I took it to Yorkshire and forgot my batteries lol
For a rubberized fender colour, paint it on the out side or use a flat ps-55 paint and use the overspray cover as a mask. For spray can paint tips look at some hemistorm videos all he uses is tamiya paint cans. Chassis wise you could look at a mst cmx. There is also a short wheelbase GCM kit as well.
Greetings from Austria! Great Job!!!! Do you have a list about all the Color you used and how much cans i Need? Sorry about my english 😉! Best regards Alex
instead of marking body 1st for colour the fander, why not you marking a fender 1st n start colouring body 1st & after that colouring the fender.. you may cut cost for masking tape right...??
I don't know what it is but Tamiya's just don't do it for me they are not smooth at all unless you are on carpet and they just seem cheap compared to other brands..
Superb paint job. Your hard work on the masking was definitely worth it.
Not a bad build. Good use of metal for cv joints and drive shafts. Cc02 was more challenging but used plastics in vital areas. Another good watch!!!!!
That body job looks so good it deserves some serious upgrades 👍🏻
Once again nice job Gavin , it takes a lot of patience for all that masking and then the decals .
Thanks Eric
That looks amazing, surely it deserves a chassis upgrade for that beautiful body :)
This shell on a cc02 would look magic. Nice spray job on this one.
Looks great! Good work Gavin!
That turned out nice. I would rather see this on the CC-02. Great idea on the windows.
Thanks 👍
Yep new chassis and a proper front axle is a must . Only thing putting me off buying one is the wrong front axle
Isn't the ISF the whole point of the CC01 today? If you wan't two rigid axles there is about 30 000 other trucks out there :P
@@skagerstrom the defender didn't come with ifs so it shouldn't be on this one

I have done a few videos showing more detail. You can find them on the video channel page.

Wow sounds like you have been having a fun 2020. Sorry to hear that Chris, I hope you are now on the mend and the pain levels are manageable for you?
🦋😀 Cool beginning 🙋🏽♂️ well done 👌

Great work man.. my fav colour Met Blue!
Thank for making this video , Really Enjoyed 👊🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great spray Job Gavin!! Now don't crash that one👍😄

Quality 👍👍
Someday I would be able to build a CC01.
Absolutely love your channel, content and the presentation!
Love ❤️ from India!
Go for it, its a fun build and thank you for your kind words :)
You forgot to say don't scour the windows unless you want scratches on the clear windows when you're finished 😁👍
Yep, don't do that.
Very nice indeed.
Nice work Gavin, you are getting good at these body's. Do the upgrades, tires chassis and shocks. She is a beautiful beast
I’d love to see that defender with straight axles

Will take a look at the springs 👍🏻
Nice kit and body work mate. I may purchase one of them kit myself, love the metallic blue colour, look very well.
Thanks 👍

U should have done roof first then body maskin out bumpers n arches then last the black would bn much easier but u did nice job m8
Turned out awesome... my only gripe is the body posts and clips... should try some magnetic mounts next time?
As a defender driver, had to have! Wish I painted mine like my car,
Very cool
Hi Gavin you should make the arches and bumpers flat black.
Would like to know what soap you are cleaning with before paint

Great job sir .which masking product did you use for the roof and arch edges? Once again great vlog.
Thats a lots o masking, but well worth it in the end. Turned out really nice.
Nice build, good video. However, I noticed you haven’t painted the smaller lights on the front grill yet. There’s always more to do!
More patience than me on that body!!
Great video. Thanks. :)
Thanks Ratty
For me it would have to be somthing close to the landrover Pastel Green, that is what my Dads series 3 safari 109 was when I was a child
Looks good with the gunmetal inside. Which paint was used on the windows to smoke them out please?
Hi, PS-31 Smoke :)
Get the JunFac 4-link kit and an alloy steering upgrade kit for it!
I will go check it out. Thanks :)
I would like to see the upgraded chassis build.
Hi Gavin, did you back it in PS-63 gun metal? I really like the finish and want to do the same.
Yep :)
right I amoff to start painting my cc01 bronco body that has been sitting on a shelf for far too long
Go for it! Have fun and post some pictures on the RCKicks group as I would love to see it 👍🏻
will do
Greetings from Austria! Great Job!!!!

Tamiya metallic blue. and white PS-1. 1 can of each will do it.
@@RCKickschannel … do you also used the PS Paints for the Front Grill and the reserve Wheel Cover?

looks the biz
Which chassis do you prefer? CC-01 or CC-02?
CC-02 all day long.
@@RCKickschannel thanks! The Defender 90 on the CC-02 is coming in January. I’ll put an order in for one now. Nice paint job by the way.
Good thing this one can’t do 58 mph!
Upgrade please
You should'a just masked the roof and painted the white last.
Nothing fell off, and it didn't break down. Not very realistic is it?
LOL :)
Please look at my defender90 too!
