Wow, I don’t remember the last time I smiled and laughed this hard through a vlog! So wholesome and beautiful to watch. America is indeed ghetto, but our public education brains can do it 😂 Thank you for sharing 💛
This trip looks so dreamy and fun (love a Shelby cameo!!) Minus the lost luggage of course. And the jealously tears, ugh, the US really needs to step it up! The loan forgiveness is a great step though, we love to see it!
I remember my first time leaving the country I felt this exact same way. Been taught my whole life that America is the best country in the world just to realize I had been lied to.
I had one other thought: some of your followers might never be able to travel OS and meet foreigners and hear first hand what happens in their country around different issues. So what if, in the quest to get educated and also educate your viewers, you did some videos where you interview one of your followers who is from overseas or lives overseas, talking about something that is special about the way their country operates? I am from Australia and I would love the opportunity to talk about the way we have dealt with guns and the safety that came from that. I am sure there are others here from other countries who have something they could share!!
YEEESSS 👏👏👏 I'm from Norway, another of the Scandinavian countries, and I'm forever grateful that I drew the lucky card on where to be born. You have to get into politics girls!! You have much to offer. All the rights I am thankful for today, someone else fought long and hard for 100 years ago, 200 years ago. Protest, strike, help to build up strong labor unions 🧡🧡🧡 Or you can always move to Scandinavia 🥰😂 But seriously, the passion you have for these social issues is so strong that politics might be your thing...?
Hi there! I'm visiting Norway soon, and it'll be my first time ever leaving the US. Do you have any advice on things to do there or anything I should know? I'll definitely hike, but I'm particularly interested in indoor/more chill things to do, like shopping or coffee shops or cute parks within a city. Also, is it true that I shouldn't try to make conversation with strangers in Norway? I've heard conflicting things, and meeting new people seems like one of the best parts of travel. Thank you for any advice you can give! I'm super nervous if you can't tell, haha.
@@xchristinalovesyouux Oh, wow! Where to begin? First of all, that is so cool that you are going on an adventure far from home! Are you travelling with a group and have a set plan/do you know what cities/areas you are going to in Norway? Are you going in the summer/winter? I can tell you sort of how we might feel when meeting an American :) and how our cultures might clash. When I used to work in retail and the cruise ships came to town, there would be these very loud, outgoing Americans coming into the store and even though they were only being friendly and complimentary, it felt very overwhelming. It's normal for us to walk into a store, maybe smile and say hello to the person who work there but we would never say "hey, how are you, are you having a great day? You look gorgeous in that sweater, honey". And on public transportation we usually don't talk to the person next us if they are strangers. But we are very polite and friendly (most of us) and if you explain that you are travelling and you ask questions, most people won't mind and many will be happy to have a conversation.
@@pizzakrydder2515 I’ll be going to Oslo in March. I don’t have a set agenda or tour group. My boyfriend is going there on a work trip - we’re going a few days early to explore and then he’ll have a work training for 5 days and I’ll be able to explore on my own those days. Do you think it’s safe to walk around Oslo alone? Is there anything I should know about theft or scams? And will people be surprised to see a Black person or is that not much of a concern anymore? I’m friendly and don’t mind curious stares or anything - I honestly enjoy the idea of people of different cultures asking questions and sharing new stuff with each other.
@@xchristinalovesyouux That sounds like so much fun! I live on the west coast (and Oslo is on the east coast) but I'm asking my friends and we'll come up with some suggestions for you 🤩 later today. Oslo is our capital city and it's a melting pot of many different cultures, religions and ethnicities. Norway has a large immigrant population, first-and second generation, so you'll se people of Asian, Middle Eastern and African descent everywhere 🥰 Walking alone in the daytime is no problem, safety for women is very high and catcalling and stuff like that is very rare, at nightime just be aware of your surroundings like you normally would.
@@pizzakrydder2515 I appreciate you SO much!! Seriously, I was freaking out and even thinking of not going, but you've really helped me calm down lol Thank you and your friends in advance for coming up with suggestions of things to see! I've done some more research, and I'm very curious about trying brunost (the brown cheese) and the hot dogs and all the waffles. Thank you again for being so sweet! :')
Literally your reaction to finding out they get paid to go to university was the exact same as mine. I stared at my friend like ‘???¿??’ And seeing a place prioritize people rather than cars? Beautiful. Still trying to get my first stamp on my passport myself (one day!) and this was so, so lovely to watch. Would love to hear what you think would make your next international trip smoother if you feel inclined. Thank you for sharing your trip with us!
In France they pay you to NOT go to school after high school…. 🤷🏻♀️ My cousin lives in a country town outside of Paris, and she says they get paid to stay home..I was like “what hold up they pay you to stay home and do nothing?” So every month they get money…😵 no wonder french people are so casual and they have 4 hours lunches and don’t open in the mornings 😝
I mean, realistically America is too big to pay everyone but they defffff have a responsibility to set tuition limits and fix their predatory loan issues. Debt cancellation ain’t gonna fix it if they keep making it a problem
Another fun video! I so get the venting about how America treats us versus how other countries take care of their own. My brother and I have talked about this exact topic on student loan debt many many times. America has chosen money over compassion and human rights. If someone "owes" something and can't pay it back, should we shake them down and ruin their lives for eternity? They don't tell you that they use your signature and monetize it thousands of times with out our knowledge. Creating "money" out of thin air. It is frustrating when you see and know how wrong this system is and can only see how so many lives are being ruined because of it. That's why they said students loans is the one thing you can't get rid of and they set it up like that for a reason. It's definitely by design. This is why more and more Americans are spending their retirement in other countries. We have to stretch every dollar we can because our own country could care less about how we live. Such as necessities like food cost healthcare cost, rent cost and what other necessities are needed for surviving and living. Freedom equals happiness! Sorry, for my venting. 🙂
Need to plan a trip out to the Netherlands asap! It always looks so gorgeous! Also loved learning about how other countries treat their citizens, I wish America got on that level, it would be so nice, especially fining a business if they pay women and men differently, that is incredible and needs to be established world wide!
Love your discussion about equitable access to education and just equality in general! Even if it's just a casual conversation, I love that you go there!
Lol I’m dying at the U.S. education/skewl part. Totally agree. It’s infuriating. Also, I’m going on a Euro trip on Friday so this is getting me excited! And I’m seeing my bestie who Iives in a different country. Long distance friendship is hard, you’re right ♥️
Im late to the party, but I had to say this video makes me so happy! (Except for your luggage problems!) Great to see you two together again, and glad you were warmly received in Sweden and Denmark - I think everyone should have a chance to visit another country - I can't wait until I can do it again.
Looks like such an incredible trip! And THANK YOU for speaking openly about all the advantages that these other countries have! We need to GET IT TOGETHER!
I really relate to losing sleep after learning all these things, I've been there 😭.And the more you travel the more you have these epiphanies. I wish every American got the chance to go abroad and see the way other people live. I really believe this country would be totally different if that were to happen.
This is why ever one should travel if they get the chance, save make it happen. I’m from the UK and have been lucky to explore the world and educate myself on politics and cultures of different nations. Look at the the joy they have being in a different space and learning that not all that is taught to us is right.
I'm so glad you enjoyed Sweden (proud Swede here!). Yes, we are very lucky in Sweden with both school and health care being tax funded and therefore accessible to everyone. Being sick doesn't ruin you finacially, which is so important to me. Not until I lived abroad for a while (Australia) I understood how lucky I was. That being said, not everything is sunshine and rainbows, which is so important to remember too. For example, we do have a BAD a housing crisis that has been going on since my dad was young 50+ years. Too little housing is built in the cities. Getting a rental apartment is so hard that most people (me included) have to buy a place to have somewhere to live. Standing in line for 8 + years, to rent a place, is common where I live.
This trip looked dreamy! That part about the disparities between the states and other countries is so real. My 8 year old asked me the other day (not knowing it was a thing) why don’t kids get paid to go to school since they work and I had no answer. It’s insane the way other countries take care of their citizens. Traveling internationally can be bittersweet but mostly sweet and it looks like you two did it right.
Seeing you two together again warms my heart. My best friend and I haven't seen each other in months since I moved away. This gives me hope that we can do a bestie trip together soon. Much love

So I just subscribed. Love your content. Wow y’all had me laughing but everything you are saying is so true. Y’all got my support!!! Love the emojis to express how you feel inside. I get it lol! I’m binge watching your videos now. Thanks !💕
I love this video and your trip to Europe really affirming how messed up the social infrastructure of the US! I have been MAD for years that we are told to accept the life they give us that does not prioritize us as people, only as money machines. I can’t wait to visit Denmark!! Also I love that you are a big fan of Not Just Bikes too!!
The higher tax rate isn’t bad if the cost of living is affordable and you don’t need to pay for health insurance, high utilities/bills, student loan debt, etc. Your income pretty much becomes disposable once your rent and utilities are covered.
Loved this video! Seeing you to together again and so happy! Thank you for speaking out about the vast differences between other developed nations and the US. It's so sad but we need people like you who have platforms educating not only yourselves but the people who follow you about these issues! The more people know the faster change can happen! Keep doing your thing girl!
Omg you were just here! So glad you enjoyed Helsingborg and Copenhagen! I might be going to the west coast of the US this fall and it's so fun knowing you were just discovering the region I live in for the first time and I'll be visiting your area for the first time. So interesting to hear your perspective on Scandinavian society, never realized how foreign it seems to Americans!
Travelling!!! So jealous. My travel tip to others is always have a extra outfit and underwear in your carry-on... After having my luggage delivered 2 days later on a couple trips, I no longer blindly trust the airlines. Have you watched the videos of Americans describing healthcare in other countries?! (Don't. HAHA!) Amsterdam is such a gem! Thanks for sharing!! Cheers!
Aww - your first international trip!! That's so cool you could do it with your BFF! I'm about to do a Euro trip tomorrow. You just got me so excited. Looked like a blast. Can't wait for your next trip!!! ✈
Love seeing you two together! This call to action are all thoughts Ive been thinking about lately. The more I read and educate myself the more I feel hopeless. It's a catch 22. But having these conversations to begin with is very important! I believe if we educate enough people on these issues we will start to see change.
So good to see you two together again on such a lovely trip! ( minus luggage part ;( I travel solo most of the time but Copenhagen seems perfect for a girls trip! I'm adding it to my list of places to visit when I am back in Europe 💕
oh my goddddd i had the same experience w dining in Norway re: times n kitchens being closed and being so shocked about it haha. so happy to see u two again!! love love u both
This is one of my favorite vlog episodes to date. It's probably because of the dynamic between you two. So refreshing seeing this relationship on video again. Also, love denmark but also so sad about the discrepancy for basic social benefits between Scandinavia vs USA.
Wow me (a Dutch European) went to the states the last 3 weeks and we had so many problems trying to eat late(r). Every time we would return to our accommodation at like 6:30 pm and we were trying to eat out we had to rush to restaurants because they would all close at 8 pm. So it’s funny seeing you talk about not being able to eat out after 10 pm because we thought US citizen were just used to that and never (want to) do it.
Ah, I got so excited when I saw the title, you were so close to me (I'm Finnish)! It looked like you had a fun trip despite the struggles, it was so nice to see you together again and eating all that delicious looking food :) I hope you come back again
Thank you for posting! Love that you are traveling and seeing new places...and being with Shelby...just icing on the cake! Glad you could enjoy together!
The era of the wise woman is coming! I got involved with my local League of Women Voters and it has honestly been the best thing for my mental health. We have to keep talking about this stuff before it's just too late
the catcalling yess that's one thing I loved about my (my as in personal, it may be different for other women) experience in Mexico City, was not a single soul bothered me on the street... felt so safe wlking around alone during the day and night - USA what you doing??
I love how you’re always so considerate of our feelings with your encouraging words ❤️ I’ve been to Europe twice & it’s definitely a culture shock! My friends & I had great experiences and the people were all sooo nice
The pastries, the Shelby, the real talk -- loved it all. You asked for ideas. I'm focusing on local government candidates, because they will be future national leaders. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
Girllll y’all were preaching about all the issues America has. Honestly wouldn’t mind a chit chat GRWM style video talking about some of this stuff because it really is hard to keep positive with all the stuff going on! Thankfully it’s being talked about more these days though
this video was incredible, so many great tips 😍just to add some comments on the politics section: here in Brazil so many of us want to live like the "American dream" and even actually live in US, but we have public education and public health care for free (viva o sus! ), that's just it's insane how the "developed countries" are still late on this!!
Do a podcast where you interview people on these topics! Because your reaction to things like other countries covering tuition for their students, is like how all of us would react. So it would be cool to hear you have these discussions with experts and ask all the questions that we would ask.
The way for things to change in America is to get the people in power who are for themselves and not the whole out of office. We need younger people to be senators, governors, and politicians who can put everyone’s needs ahead of their own. America has fallen behind in so many ways which is sad because American is suppose to be the big brother country that leads everyone by example. But it starts with people like you who see the differences and want things to change. I love your videos and seeing your reaction to that news, we need more of it, thanks.
A suggestion from one public US educated brain… this could be a podcast where you just dump all your thoughts and have experts come on! I think your openness to discuss solutions is a great approach to having conversations about social issues. I’d 10/10 listen, subscribe, and share tbh.
Have you seen the doco Where to Invade Next? It's about different ideas that different countries around the world have implemented for their people. If you are keen to think about what's happening in Europe vs US, watch that documentary! For real. It's exactly the stuff you are asking/talking about
I went to grad school in Copenhagen and lived my magical black life there for 2.5 years. Nice to revisit it through new eyes. I moved there in 2010 and the system ruined the US for me. I moved to Berlin for a couple years after and have been living in Sydney since. Just recently returned from a 7-week holiday (PTO) to the States. That request was approved the afternoon I submitted it was a note wishing me a great, well-deserved trip. American would never.
Yes!!! I'm here for this political tangent! Fuck yes!!! I'm having these talks damn near daily. I actually had to step back because the anxiety it triggers. But, yes!!! I'm here for this being discussed. Also, your trip looks amazing. I would love to take a trip like this with my kiddo. Everything looks so clean and well kept. Just beautiful.
I heard the higher taxes are not that much higher and of course people get more out of the taxes they pay than we do. Anyone interested in this topic should read "The Nordic Theory of Everything"
Yeay, you made it to Denmark 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰 And yes, you are so right and pointing out all the things most Scandinavians think when we look at the US.. So much potential, but such greedy politicians who only care about staying in power 🤔
I know ya'll were talking about real issues ( how America butt f*cks us constantly) but, is was Shelby on the swing for me! Love the Posi girl seg. LOL Love you so much !!!!
I missed seeing you two together. It warms my heart to see y’all together. I can see/feel the love between you guys.

Love seeing you two together! This call to action are all thoughts Ive been thinking about lately. The more I read and educate myself the more I feel hopeless. It's a catch 22. But having these conversations to begin with is very important! I believe if we educate enough people on these issues we will start to see change.
So glad to see you two together. Hey Shelby 😍 thanks for the video. Hope to see your next one soon. Happy travels 😃👍🏽✌️❤️
so happy you had a great trip despite the whole luggage things, and that you enjoyed my hometown, Copenhagen
Thank you for your honesty and sharing this!
So good to see you two together again on such a lovely trip! ( minus luggage part ;( I travel solo most of the time but Copenhagen seems perfect for a girls trip! I'm adding it to my list of places to visit when I am back in Europe 💕
Love the vibes in this video, you two just living life and having fun 💖
such a fun vlog! missed seeing y'all together. glad you both spent quality time exploring AND unlearning some American lies
oh my goddddd i had the same experience w dining in Norway re: times n kitchens being closed and being so shocked about it haha. so happy to see u two again!! love love u both
Call Kathy Hilton 🤣🤣 You are SO right though.. Loved seeing you two together again and LOVED the vlog.
This is one of my favorite vlog episodes to date. It's probably because of the dynamic between you two. So refreshing seeing this relationship on video again. Also, love denmark but also so sad about the discrepancy for basic social benefits between Scandinavia vs USA.
Aaawww Sheeelllbbbbyy!! ❤️❤️❤️ so good to see you both
Wow me (a Dutch European) went to the states the last 3 weeks and we had so many problems trying to eat late(r).
Oh my gosh, can’t believe you were in Copenhagen! 😍 Hope you enjoyed /a Danish follower from Copenhagen 👋🏻
Makes me smile to see y'all reconnect and laugh together again!
Ah, I got so excited when I saw the title, you were so close to me (I'm Finnish)! It looked like you had a fun trip despite the struggles, it was so nice to see you together again and eating all that delicious looking food :) I hope you come back again
Lovedddddd this little vlog!! We missed Shelby!! Glad you got to take the trip together!🥹🫶🏽💗
Thank you for posting! Love that you are traveling and seeing new places...and being with Shelby...just icing on the cake! Glad you could enjoy together!
I was just thinking where's Shelby, and here she is. I love your frienship.
I loved seeing you two together again! 😍 I'm looking forward to one day going across the pond!
The era of the wise woman is coming! I got involved with my local League of Women Voters and it has honestly been the best thing for my mental health. We have to keep talking about this stuff before it's just too late
Love this, so cute. And completely agree, the US priorities money and other countries prioritize ppl’s well-being.
I read Pastries in the title and I said YES PLEASE! Loved this vlog!!! ❤
the catcalling yess that's one thing I loved about my (my as in personal, it may be different for other women) experience in Mexico City, was not a single soul bothered me on the street... felt so safe wlking around alone during the day and night - USA what you doing??
Here for talking 'bout ALL the issues! Also, please vote! Vote in the primaries so that we can have better options in the general elections!
Loved seeing you trip.. best friends are so whats up 💕💕
I haven't even watched yet, but I'm always glad when you post! 🙌🏾
I so appreciate you, sissy. Thanks for the love and I'm sending you so much right back 💕
I love how you’re always so considerate of our feelings with your encouraging words ❤️
I’ve been to Europe twice & it’s definitely a culture shock! My friends & I had great experiences and the people were all sooo nice
“The states shouldn’t even let us leave”😂😂😂😂 I feel you!!!
It already stay sunny until 10PM in Paris during summer ^^
this video was incredible, so many great tips 😍just to add some comments on the politics section: here in Brazil so many of us want to live like the "American dream" and even actually live in US, but we have public education and public health care for free (viva o sus! ), that's just it's insane how the "developed countries" are still late on this!!
Do a podcast where you interview people on these topics! Because your reaction to things like other countries covering tuition for their students, is like how all of us would react. So it would be cool to hear you have these discussions with experts and ask all the questions that we would ask.
I have never related to a video more. Love y’all! Being posi girls is hard work 🥴
This was so wholesome 🫶🏾
Clicked so fast! I'm not going anyyyywhere anytime soon so I'm living through everyone's eurotrips lol
Y’all had me rollin at the school discussion 😂 You were me when I was talking to my cousin about US vs Denmark schools and prisons
Very well produced video!
This went up at the best time - going to Copenhagen in a week for the first time! 😃
JANAE!!! What about a podcast with you and Shelby?
A suggestion from one public US educated brain… this could be a podcast where you just dump all your thoughts and have experts come on! I think your openness to discuss solutions is a great approach to having conversations about social issues. I’d 10/10 listen, subscribe, and share tbh.
Have you seen the doco Where to Invade Next? It's about different ideas that different countries around the world have implemented for their people. If you are keen to think about what's happening in Europe vs US, watch that documentary! For real. It's exactly the stuff you are asking/talking about
Janea for president!!!!!!!!
omg congrats on ur first trip abroad! hopefully the first of many 😌😌
Thanks so much! Really hoping more are ahead for so many of us! Thanks sm for stopping by today, btw 💕
Love your content & honesty 🦋💕
I went to grad school in Copenhagen and lived my magical black life there for 2.5 years. Nice to revisit it through new eyes. I moved there in 2010 and the system ruined the US for me. I moved to Berlin for a couple years after and have been living in Sydney since. Just recently returned from a 7-week holiday (PTO) to the States. That request was approved the afternoon I submitted it was a note wishing me a great, well-deserved trip. American would never.
How were you able to live in Berlin? I want to live in Paris but I am a us citizen
@@jcmea13 I applied and was granted a 2-year Germany Employment Visa. Worked freelance during that time.
This was so awesome!
This was bloody joyyyyyyy.
yall are my favourite
Loved this so much💙🦋💙🦋
Where are those wide Black pants from? 😩
I don't know if this is only happening on my phone but parts of your video have been delayed.
I'm from Argentina, I live in Spain now, there's free education and health in both countries
Your luggage saga makes me never want to check luggage again, especially in international flights.
Loved the adventure, thank you 😊
dont u dare to miss germany😭😭🥲
Omg you were in my country (Sweden!) Come to Stockholm next time😍🥰
I love Not Jus Bikes too❤️
I heard the higher taxes are not that much higher and of course people get more out of the taxes they pay than we do. Anyone interested in this topic should read "The Nordic Theory of Everything"
thanks for reminding me to not take our free education, human rights, social security ect in germany for granted
Yeay, you made it to Denmark 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
And yes, you are so right and pointing out all the things most Scandinavians think when we look at the US.. So much potential, but such greedy politicians who only care about staying in power 🤔
I know ya'll were talking about real issues ( how America butt f*cks us constantly) but, is was Shelby on the swing for me! Love the Posi girl seg. LOL Love you so much !!!!
LOVE
