Nice review. We have a 2023 RAV4 Limited AWD Wind Chill Pearl (non-hybrid). I like that it's a non-turbo, non-hybrid, 2.5L naturally aspriated 4 cylinder engine. It gets around 30mpg all around and pretty much has all the bells and whistles. Great little vehicle. It compliments our 2021 Tundra TRD Pro nicely.
@untamedreviews I am with you on immediate mind that is why I had chosen a almost a base level 2024 XLE Rav4. Naturally non turbo ICE ..as base it can be and getting over 30 mpg on my recent road trip fits my need.
Why do you prefer the non-hybrid? That's unusual - most reviewers say that's the one to get as it's less noisy and has more power. Not only that, but according to Consumer Reports, regular hybrid vehicles (not the plug-in ones) have the least amount of problems, even less than regular ICE vehicles.
@@dansilver2069I can’t see the hybrid having less issues than the naturally aspirated 2.5l, your eventually going to have to replace those batteries that cost up to 10k, usually around 3k-8k which most people will have to do because people who buy these keep them for along time. You will have like no issues what so ever with the base 2.5l
@@ZACH_95_The naturally aspirated engine is commonly reported as feeling ‘under powered’! The hybrid system and accompanying e-CVT are bullet proof (being touted as possibly the most reliable transmission ever), unlike the 8-speed transmission fitted to the non-hybrid variants. Hybrid battery replacement is very uncommon, they typically last 400,000km’s and cost $2000-3000 for replacement.
When I was looking for a replacement Uber/Lyft vehicle for my 2014 BMW 328d I really wanted this model and spec (mainly for the Ventilated Seats). Servco Toyota (Honolulu) wasn’t taking any orders and the wait list was long. So I ordered a Tesla Model Y and Lemon Law’d it 9 months after I picked it up. I will never get a POS Tesla again. ETA when I was looking at them they were a couple of grand less. They are surprisingly roomy in the back seat
This is toward the top of the list for my next vehicle purchase. I think I'm in the anti-XSE camp in general. Limited has more features with less styling. I'm okay with that. Thanks for the review.
I’ve come close to buying one a few times. Price gouging kept me away. I actually checked online last night and you can find them at, or a little under MSRP. Or TSRP. Or RSP. Can’t keep track.
I would take the Limited over the XSE because I value the Ventilated seats more than the look, living in Honolulu I’d rather have a cool back and Okole (bum)
These are great vehicles. But I wish Subaru would work with Toyota to offer good hybrids for the Forester & Outback. The couple past Subaru hybrids were weak sauce.
You need to show the Close Up of the Options & Packages so we can read it. The RAV4 Limited Hybrid has two main Packages you can order. The Tech and the Weather Package. Plus to see what other accessories are on the MSRP would be nice. Not just the price.
The rav4 just keeps getting better, exterior looks great, interior infotainment screen would look better integrated into the dash like the new 2025 Camry and it probably will be in the next new redesign. Overall love the current generation, pretty sure Toyota fixed most of the bug's. I’d buy one for sure. It’s a winner, over 400k sold a year.
We love our Japanese built '23 Limited hybrid. One of the best things we did before it even left the dealership was to get rid of the crap Dunlop GrandTeks for a set of Michelin Defender 2s. The difference in ride and road noise was amazing. We've got just over 10,000 miles on it now & it's been flawless.
@@t.k.morris Pleather, I have it in mu current Tacoma and I had it in an 18 Tacoma. It cleans up very easily from just a every day driver , and it's very durable.
The “Limited” spec is definitely not consistent between countries as my right hand drive version here in NZ does have minor differences to yours eg no heated steering wheel, only touch opening of the front doors but does have ten way driver seat adjustment and 8 way on the passenger side. In NZ you can only get the R4 in Hybrid and all of them have full sized spare tires. I think you might have slightly more colour choices as well, our “Ruby” is definitely not the look of the vehicle you drove. I think doing a zero to 60 in a car thats not run in isn’t going to give you the best results and I suspect other testers had it in “Sports” mode, I’ve seen reviews giving 7.3 seconds. It’s not a rocket ship but does get up and go when you need it. Maybe the Highlander is the model for you with its extra row of seats 😀
Great review, great car, however I totally agree with the negative points re: the light colour head liner and the terrible old fashioned iPad display..it really should be a wrap around display! I feel the Hyundai Tucson looks so much better inside and out.
No mention of the e-CVT Hybrid Synergy Drive? This is a totally gear-driven electronically controlled CVT, that works so much better than every belt-driven CVT, and lasts infinitely longer... Toyota's decades head-start on hybrid vehicles means theirs will be the most reliable. Tan headliner? Seriously that's a no-deal maker...!?!? Toyota styling? Sure, Toyota is infamous for useless 'styling' swoops curves and fake vents. "Their front end looks great". Their wide & ugly front grills have been toned down, but they're still ugly. (As are the Lexus grills.) Made in Japan? Only the Hybrid Prime models are built in Japan. The rest are assembled in N. America! Only key drivetrain components are built in Japan and shipped here. If you're going to present yourself as a credible reviewer, you need to get basic facts straight... My tip - avoid the panoramic sunroof (they're hell to fix when they leak) and the push-button rear hatch, whose motor activated struts are fragile and prone to failure, and expensive to replace. NEVER Manually push the hatch closed as that will risk breaking the actuation motors.
@@jonhansen4745 The majority of non-hybrid RAV4's are N American assembled, with many parts from Japan. I can see if there's excess capacity in Japan, some premium hybrid models could be imported from Japan.
17:34 - I completely agree with you!! Hybrid does not belong on the 4Runner. That's why I bought a '23 Limited. Now, for my daily, I'm looking to replace my '01 Blazer with a '24 RAV4 Hybrid.

The new Toyota Rav4 is a good value. Even the base LE for about $30k is a solid choice.
