Pro-tip from the military: a cotton Q-tip/earbud works wonders as a disposable precision applicator, and maintains one's digits squeaky-clean.

With them being suede I think I’d mask up while doing this with low tac masking tape

There's one spot that I often wax that I don't see most shoe care videos touch. I think it's called the breast of the heel. That inside part right at the waist of the shoe. Probably just the way I walk but that often snags and gets beat up and since I live in an area that gets torrential rainfall often, that seems to be the place that's always last to dry in my shoes. It's always cold to touch when everything else is dry. I just wax it heavily then buff it to look neat. I doubt anyone ever saw it but it does help with drying time of my shoes whenever I get caught in inclement weather.

Love how, “the salesman” Kirby introduces his other products in his videos. Magic, he is on the ball. Great.

This was already a great video, but to put the smooth, sensual music in the background... Classic! 😂

Hi Kirby, I saw a video of you in which you use a color restoration for the edge. What is the differene betwen these two methods for the edge?

Good topic but must you shine shoes in suit and tie? Looks phony.

Can we use nail polish gloss for the shoe edges?

Excellent point about driver's heel, I also find some wear on my left heel from clutching in my manual car.

I have a pair of Alden cap-toe bluchers that have a two tone, double leather sole (one section of the sole is dark brown, the other close to black). Would you recommend doing both with dark brown cream and then using a q-tip or something to try to touch up the black section?

I, for one, also find it necessary to wear my bespoke suit whenever I polish my shoes. No gloves needed to boot.

Hi Kirby, I just noticed your leather care overview on the website does not include deer skin. Would be a good topic for a video as well, although I'm not sure how different deerskin is as I'm planning on getting my first pair. Trickers have started including deerskin models in the last few years, and there are a few white bucks around as well, but as it's not very popular finding information on its strengths and weaknesses is not very easy.

Great suggestion! Do you have deer skin boots? I'm not aware of many people that make shoes out of deer skin. I would treat it like normal calfskin.

@@kirbyallison I don't personally have any, but it's on my list. Shoepassion offer wingtips in white and brown deerskin, and trickers have started a collection using a German tannery here www.trickers.com/eu/journal/post/aw18-deer-skin . There may be others of course, but this is how I got exposed to the idea.

I thought the edges are made from wood so applying the cream on it is a bit confusing to me

Wood or rubber is indicative of a lower quality shoe.
