I met Tony on a plane, and it was one of the best experiences in my life. He was very gracious, when I asked him for his autograph, and I couldn't believe that I got to actually thank one of my favorite actors, for making me laugh all these years, right to his face.
ONLY in your opinion, why do you think your opinion equates to facts? I love the show but am confident enough not to have to denigrate some other show to prove it, What is wrong with the quality of some of today's Shows, Like Monk, Two and a Half men, Big Bang, Mom etc? You may like the Odd Couple better, but that doesn't make it better, Do you have Kids? if so is one "far better" than the other? or do you just love both of them, even though they may be different? I just don't get what is wrong with the personality of people who live in a town called "negativity" Don't worry, be happy!
The genuine affection these people had for each other is very evident. They worked so well together because of it, and the series excelled as a result. It's a classic.
I have been so blessed to have met Tony in NY and then later, Jack Klugman and Howard Cosell too. Why don't we have actors and writers as magnificent as these today? Thank goodness, we'll always have Tony and Jack. Thank you for such joy.
This is still one of the funniest, well-written and well-acted TV shows ever! 😂. I used to babysit every Friday night as a freshman in high school when this show was first run and I watched it religiously! Now, I am loving the reruns on Decades TV. 😊
Its nice to see Jack Klugman......From what I understood there was nothing that he wouldn't do for Tony Randall through the years. They were always the best of friends.
@@BrotherDerrick3X Yeah, she was really hot. It's actually an interesting story. Randall was married to his first wife for over 50 years, however, she almost never appeared in public with him, so a lot of people in show biz thought that Randall was gay, and that the marriage was a sham (like Rock Hudson's marriage). Turns out though, that the reason his first wife was rarely seen was because she had problems with social anxiety, or agoraphobia or something, and rarely went out at all. He was apparently very devoted to her though.
I was very sick when I was young and those wonderful people could always make me laugh even on my worst days. RIP and Thank you Jack Klugman and Tony Randall!!!
I can watch this show over and over. I was little when it was out. Now my daughter and I love staying up and watching it. Still as funny as ever. We never tire of it. What a team these two make.

When I see them now as an adult the show is I mean it has a whole new meaning and brings a whole belly laugh with each episode with him and his profession.
Odd Couple and Sanford and Son top two funniest and best sitcoms of the 70s! Then of course there was Barney Miller, All In The Family, WKRP, Soap, The Jeffersons and The Mary Tyler Moore Show too.

You just can't find this type of comedy or show nowadays. Thank you to the entire Odd Couple cast you have made many people happy and have put smiles on so many faces.

MY BOYS!!! ❤ This show is what you call chemistry. They really loved each other, and it shows in every scene here. _Ma Gump is pregnant?_ 3:59 always killed me. lol! And it's so cute the way Jack just slowly busts at 5:24. From childhood reruns to now, I just Love Them So Much!! I wish they played the reruns more often. But at least we get a marathon on New Years. 🎆 RIP Jack, Tony, Gary & Al. Greatest Sitcom Of All Time!! 💖
I'm starting to think, maybe they were gay? Men should not enjoy each other like that, if I had a Friend(male) that kissed me, we would not be friends anymore, or at least I would sleep with one eye open🤣🤣🤣😂😂
The woman that played the temp was in a few other episodes ("Pushover Page") and just has the perfect sitcom face and mannerisms. She stole every scene she was in. I would have not been able to keep from laughing either.
Tony and Jack K. were as ideal in their own way (and with their own unique chemistry) portraying Felix and Oscar as Jack L. and Walter were in theirs. RIP all 4 of 'em.
In a twist of irony, both Jack Lemmon and Jack Klugman were both in the film, "Days of Wine and Roses." (1962). Lemmon played an alcoholic PR man named "Joe Clay", who gets help with his illness through his AA sponsor, "Jim Hungerford", played by Klugman.
I love how Jack Klugman is sitting by a fire setting this clip up. It adds such warmth to the video. I am sitting in a cold apartment and this fireplace warmed me up it looked so toasty. I wonder what genius director had the idea lets film him by the fireplace.
Jack's book is the only book I've read in my entire life (out of countless) which actually made me teary-eyed. Just a beautiful read, and an incredible show, one of the best ever.
not an extensive read but it so well covered Jack's life pre-acting and how he and Tony became such wonderful friends; a friendship that lasted until the end.

I just watched an episode of The Odd Couple the other day. Felix came in to wake Oscar up in that filth pile of a bed room and found a half eaten banana on the bed. "Why do you lay down with your food? Coyotes lay down with there food." I am still giggling at Tony Randalls delivery. A perfect show in every way.
What a great show. I watched it as a kid and I still watch it now on MeTV. It just dawned on me today that there had to be outtakes somewhere. Glad I came to look...it was worth it. Loved the Queerios joke!! RIP gentlemen...and thanks for the memories.
I was never a big Partridge Family fan but I do love the theme song. The biggest memory from the Brady Bunch I have as a kid was the episode when Cindy and Bobby was lost down in the Grand Canyon. As a child that was some incredible suspense !!! I could not wait until the next episode to find out what will happen to them.....ahh....the simplicity of our childhood. Thank you for many years of entertainment, Jack. My favorite episode of "The Odd Couple" was the one involving the maximum security apartment: Felix: It's for your own good. Oscar: Felix, when I look back on some of the best times of my life, NONE OF IT WAS FOR MY OWN GOOD!
Al Morinaro played Al on Happy Days and there was a shot on this video of Pat Morita who played Arnold. Both ran Arnold's restaurant at different times.
This show, that friendship bring such happy and meloncholy memories to me. It reminds me of the '70s, a time I was too young to really participate in, I was born in '70. It is so New York, it is so, so funny, so sincere, so hoenst. The friendship between these two men is so apparent. True friendship, a true love for one another. It seems like we haven't gotten anywhere. We keep moving into technology, into what is the quickest way rather than the best way. Love you, Jack. (Miss you Tony)
loved the scenes when they were in court, Felix was cross examining oscar, then oscar put Felix on the hot seat. then the judge threw them all out !!!! I'm laughing now thinking about it !!lol lol #CLASSIC

You know, some movies are better than the tv series? This is one time the tv series was better than the movie! I always thought Tony Randall and Jack Klugman were the best Odd Couple! Thank YOU Jack and thank you both Tony and Jack for all the laughs in my childhood!
Randall kind of made Felix a bit "impure" to me, in that he injected a lot of his own zaniness into Felix, while trying to keep him as a stuffy character. But I say that sort of academically, because I LOVE how Randall acted as Felix. Pure genius, as you said!
@dutchdummy Haha, one of my favorite epidodes. And yes those were the days, Odd Couple at 11pm, Honeymooners at 1130, Star Trek at midnight, and Twilight Zone at 1am. Good ole days!
iNSIDE jOKE AT 4:28 Randall says "Emmy Winner play your part". Ranbdall was very pissed it took the Emmys 5 years to give him the Emmy for The Odd Couple. On receiving it..(which he should have received after season 2) he actually stated "I DONT THANK YOU, I should have gotten this a LONG time ago" and walked off TRUE story. It aired in 1975.
I haven't laughed so hard as this all year long. Thanks Mr. Klugman! PS. I watched every Oddcouple episode when it originally aired. PLUS I watched every Quincy episode. You are the best!
Man, aint that the truth. I was a little kid when this show was on the air. My parents loved it because these guys were amazing talented. No one in sitcoms has this talent anymore. And even though I wasn't even 10, their humor and the delivery is still something I remember. Or maybe it was my parents falling of the sofa and some of the lines. The episode that their favorite was when Oscar has to write a book and they go to Murray's cabin and they are starving. Great stuff...
i recently got Jacks book "Tony and Me" and what a great read (sad also) but it was a promo copy and the dvd was a fake so i couldnt view the bloopers! thanks to who posted this, at least i got to see it! this was some funny shit!!!!!
That's what happens when you put GREAT material in the hands of equally superb actors. Plus, it's TV. In the theater? They'd be expected to nail it the first time because there's NO retakes.

And Laverne was a regular on "The Odd Couple" as Myrna. Gary Marshall liked to use his regular crew of actors for lots of TV shows.
@@toddsalkowski448 - Gary Marshall put his sister Penny in these comedy shows. Can’t blame him..
Greatest sit-com ever!
I'm laughing now thinking about it !!lol lol #CLASSIC
this show, The Carol Burnett Show, All In The Family, and The Jeffersons were the funniest comedies of the 70's. thanx for posting it.
These two made me LOVE Friday nights as a kid!!!
Thanks so much for the odd couple. I love you both so much. The smile on my face with my family is priceless. The theme is fantastic. Ty ty ty. May your souls rest in peace. Dean Juman
those guys played off eachother so great they were quit the team
And what a wonderful human being you were - Thank you ☺️
You know, some movies are better than the tv series? This is one time the tv series was better than the movie! I always thought Tony Randall and Jack Klugman were the best Odd Couple! Thank YOU Jack and thank you both Tony and Jack for all the laughs in my childhood!
I'm not sure if I rate this sitcom as the best ever, but it definately is in my top 5 list. Thanks, Jack. Loved your work and Tony's.
Randall kind of made Felix a bit "impure" to me, in that he injected a lot of his own zaniness into Felix, while trying to keep him as a stuffy character. But I say that sort of academically, because I LOVE how Randall acted as Felix. Pure genius, as you said!
Klugman and Randall were great in everything they did. Legends
The only sitcom I ever loved!
This video is happy and peppy and bursting with love!
Awesome! Grew up with this show, great to see this. Thanks Jack!
Brilliant show. The intro music almost makes me cry, a combination of the quality of the show, the great intro music, and the memories of youth.
@dutchdummy Haha, one of my favorite epidodes. And yes those were the days, Odd Couple at 11pm, Honeymooners at 1130, Star Trek at midnight, and Twilight Zone at 1am. Good ole days!
And You are wonderful too, Jack! And the show still makes people laugh! What a gift to give to the world!
iNSIDE jOKE AT 4:28 Randall says "Emmy Winner play your part".
Piggy-Pike-Music-Like Tony Randall's Emmy Award acceptance speech in 1975 was: "I sure am glad I won. Now if I only had a job."
Thanks Tony and Jack, I hope your still having fun in the afterlife.... Smile on guys!!!
I haven't laughed so hard as this all year long. Thanks Mr. Klugman!
PS. I watched every Oddcouple episode when it originally aired. PLUS I watched every Quincy episode. You are the best!
So sad to hear Klugman gasp like that. Every sentence is an effort. Poor man.
This was great! I loved the odd couple
i recently got Jacks book "Tony and Me" and what a great read (sad also) but it was a promo copy and the dvd was a fake so i couldnt view the bloopers! thanks to who posted this, at least i got to see it! this was some funny shit!!!!!
these two guys were genius at its best; RIP
That's what happens when you put GREAT material in the hands of equally superb actors. Plus, it's TV. In the theater? They'd be expected to nail it the first time because there's NO retakes.
these guys were the best. thank you for posting this - what a treat.
Rest in peace, Jack. You're an absolute legend... and you'll be missed....
