  • In this video, i take you on my experience visiting the LOGOS HOPE cruise ship, or also known as the largest floating library, while its now in Dar es salaam Tanzania for 2 weeks, This ship attracts thousands of tourists daily all over the world and now its the time for Tanzania.
    The arrival of the LOGOS HOPE cruise ship in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, marks a momentous occasion for both locals and visitors alike. This floating bookstore, known for its vast collection of books and cultural exchange initiatives, brings a unique blend of literature and global perspectives to the vibrant Tanzanian coastal city.
    As the ship docks in the bustling port, anticipation fills the air. The vibrant colors of the ship stand out against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean, creating a picturesque scene that captures the attention of onlookers. The diverse crew, hailing from different corners of the world, disembarks with a shared mission-to foster a love for reading and promote cross-cultural understanding.
    The ship's onboard bookstore, a treasure trove of knowledge, offers a rich assortment of books catering to various interests and age groups. From educational materials to fiction, the carefully curated selection reflects the ship's commitment to providing resources that inspire and inform. Local bibliophiles and students eagerly explore the shelves, discovering literary gems that broaden their horizons.
    LOGOS HOPE goes beyond being a floating bookstore; it's a cultural hub on the seas. The crew engages with the local community through cultural events, workshops, and performances. Tanzanian artisans and performers join hands with the crew, creating an exchange of traditions and fostering a sense of global unity.
    The ship's visit also extends a helping hand to the local community through outreach programs. From educational initiatives to healthcare services, the crew demonstrates a commitment to making a positive impact during their stay. The spirit of volunteerism and community service permeates the decks of LOGOS HOPE, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of Tanzanians.
    As visitors explore the ship, the international crew shares stories of their journeys, creating connections that transcend geographical boundaries. The shared love for knowledge becomes a bridge, linking diverse cultures and fostering mutual respect.
    The presence of LOGOS HOPE in Dar es Salaam becomes a cultural celebration, a meeting point of stories, and a testament to the power of literature in building bridges between people. The cruise ship's departure is not just a farewell; it leaves behind a legacy of shared experiences and a renewed enthusiasm for the written word, echoing in the hearts of Tanzanians long after the ship sets sail for its next destination

    Most of all those childrens books are inappropriate for African kids, where is their librarian and education expert on this? The books are culturally insensitive!

    • @AmaniPerez
      @AmaniPerez  11 месяцев назад

      Well thanks for pointing this out, I honestly did not put much thought into it, but what you are saying makes perfect sense, I guess the sane could be said for Asian kids and South American kids also, since it looks like the books are more focused on children of European or American descent, lets hope that this would change in the near future because this ship literally travels all over the world so there is a need for inclusion. Thank you once again
