Happy New Year Crystal! Lovely to start my day with you. Our Christmas Eve was filled with family and fellowship. Hectic but beautiful! Christmas Day was just resting at home and reflecting on the wonderful blessings God has given us. Like you the days after that was spent slowly taking down decorations. I also like to start the new year in order! Dinner tonight is hamburger stew and homemade biscuits. I’m using up items from the freezer and pantry. We have a little ice and snow headed here in the next few days and a warm bowl of stew sounded perfect. I love your gentle goals. I just plan on being more of a blessing to friends and family. Actually,a blessing whenever God puts the opportunity in front of me. I look forward to another year of your wisdom and friendship. Have a wonderful week!
Good morning Adrienne!! So glad you have a wonderful Christmas. Your dinner sounds perfect for the winter days ahead. I LOVE your goal of being more of a blessing to those around you, perfect 💞 Speaking of which... I did get your Christmas card! Thank you so much 💞💞 I can say for sure you are a blessing to me my dear friend! You have a wonderful week too!! 😊😊
Decorations down day after Christmas. I am definitely a note maker and would be lost without paper! I’ve just recovered from a complete knee replacement at 59. Turning 60 soon and I’m going to enjoy my life! Last two years I hobbled around depressed. I certainly have appreciated your insight over the years.
Hi Kathy! Sorry about the knee replacement, but the other side of it looks like a much better life experience for you! I would be lost without paper too! LOL 😄
Hi Crystal. I've been looking forward to this video. I needed some Crystal positivity. :) like you, we are experiencing odd warm weather for this year. BUT we are supposed to get hit with some significant snow the first of the week. I can't wait. I have more quilts to make. I am completing my first one. Just so you know I keep your chai mix year round. It's so good. Thank you for your channel and videos. I love them. Happy new year
Aww. thanks Margaret! Quilting sounds like a wonderful way to spend a cold winter 💞 So glad you enjoy the chai mix! It's one of my favorites as well. Have a blessed weekend and week ahead 😊
Hello Crystal, nice to see you back here! Your Christmas tree was very pretty. Christmas was very low key for me. The family had to work but we had Christmas dinner together. I didn’t do much for decorations, so not much clean up, which I rather enjoyed. 😊 The weather here has been brutally cold and we’re set this week for an ice and snow storm. Readying up for possible loss of power. Have a good week. Happy New Year my friend! ❤
Hi Sheila! It's great to be back 😀 What's funny about my tree is that I kept waiting for my grandkids to come and help decorate it. But because they were sick it never happened. So I guess I had a very minimalist tree this year! Which fits my personality.. LOL 😄Clean up was VERY simple.. which I enjoyed that part too. Hope you don't loose your power! Have a blessed weekend and week ahead my friend 💞😊
Today I am going to make a fish chowder, something I haven’t made in years! Just saw the recipe on the back of the package of frozen fish. I read the Bible through the year: the program is set up with 3 different passages. Really fun. Love to watch and listen to you. Happy new year from very cold Buffalo NY area.
Hi Diane! Nice to meet you and thank you for joining in!! Fish chowder sounds delicious! I bought some clams recently and am looking forward to making clam chowder soon. Yay, for reading the Bible in a year!! 💞 Thank you for your kind words 😊
Hi Crystal. We usually take our tree down the first weekend after New Years day, although it varies slightly. I’m fixing bean and sausage soup for dinner tonight. I don’t do real resolutions, but do try to be mindful of any changes I need to make. I usually read an OT chapter not including Psalms and Proverbs. I also read a chapter from Psalms or Proverbs. When I get to the end I just start over. I also read a NT chapter plus whatever verses are on our church reading. I hope you have a wonderful blessed year ahead.
Hi Pamela! Your dinner sounds delicious! I love your Bible reading plan.. sounds very doable and keeps you in the Word. I hope you have a wonderful blessed year as well 😊💞
We celebrate the 12 days of Christmas starting with Christmas Day. January 6 th was Epiphany so I will take our tree down soon. We still have a friend to celebrate with us this week so will probably take it down this weekend. Mrs Stephen Hill (Michelle 😊
Thank you for the encouragement stepping into 2025 Crystal! Loving these gentle goals ... this year I am going to learn some British Sign Language. I have signed up to volunteer with Scripture Union delivering a programme called Bible Alive to schools, and part of it is using BSL !!! Something entirely new and challenging. We are never too old to learn and grow with the Lord. You didn't mention a Word for the year, but you have in the past, and for 2025 my word is 'Balanced'. 😊😊 xx
Every year, I feel Crystal's word for the year is perfect. And your word is exactly right as well. 'Balanced' is so good. It's easy to get sidetracked on one thing, while something else needs more time. It's better to find the balance in all the things we do. Great word!
Hello Des! Wow, how fun to learn BSL!! Many years ago (I was in high school) I learned quite a bit of ASL.. I loved it! Please keep me posted on how this goes for you this year. I did not mention my word.. funny thing is I filmed the video before the new year had started and didn't have a word. I prayed for a word and a Scripture verse for my year. And it wasn't until a couple days ago that the Lord gave me my word (and verse!).. my word for this year is Trust. I'm going to share about it in my next video. I love your word.. Balanced.. I've been working on learning to be more balanced with so many things in my life since my hubby retired.. LOL.. 😄 Great word! Have a wonderful weekend my friend 💞😊
@@HomemakingontheHomestead I love your word 'trust' as well, sometimes it's hard to completely trust and let go. Thanks for that one as well, look forward to the next video 🙂
Loving this video Crystal thank you. And the Genttle Goals are so attainable, thank you for those as well. My plethora of sticky notes to stay organized, no longer serves me ,being stuck on the refrigerator Is of no use stuck on the refrigerator door, is it? I Bought a couple of small spiral notebooks (4x6) Which I can easily keep in my purse. Thank you for your constant encouragement May 2025 be good to you and yours
Thank you Cathy! I LOVE the notebook method. So easy and yes, convenient to put in my purse for days out in town. May 2025 be good to you and yours as well! 💞😊
Hello, kind of new here so figured it’s time to introduce myself. My husband and I are empty nesters and will be married 40 years this May. 😊 We live in Wisconsin and the weather has been flipping and flopping from cold to warm and back to cold, etc. Right now it’s a chilly day in the teens with a brisk breeze. Thank you for the calendar download to print off. So simple and cute. I need to be more organized with my time/days and I’m hoping these calendars glued, or taped, into a smallish notebook will do the trick. I like your method. I am listening and reading along to the OT of the Bible this year. Last year was the NT. It’s a slower pace and it’s only M-F. Weekends off, so to speak. I like your goal suggestion of learning something new… I have some acrylic paints and small canvases that I bought a short while back so I think I best learn how to paint! 😁
Thank you for introducing yourself! It's so nice to meet you 😊 I like your Bible reading schedule too. It gives you a direction to read each day and keeps you in the Word! My hubby and I celebrated our 40th last July. The notebook method is my favorite way of simply keeping my days and life organized. And learning how to paint sounds like so much fun!! Enjoy! Have a blessed weekend 😊💞
My youngest has never had the chickenpox that I know of. I exposed my children to them whenever I could... my oldest had them when he was younger, my daughter finally got them at 16 (horrible for her!!!), and my youngest (28 this year) still hasn't had them. But maybe he did and it was just really mild???? Last night I made lentil soup with leftover beef roast and broth that needed used. We had crackers with it. We have a fellowship meal every Sunday evening. Tonight is my daughter's turn and she's making chicken and dumplings. We're in the middle of an ice storm, so we might have to cancel. Notebooks. I'm trying it different this year. One will be for gardening (hoping to make it a perpetual one??? This is my 20th year and I'm still trying to figure out what tracking system works for me). One will be for church sermon notes, quotes worth remembering, a place for appointments and important dates, and notes from helpful YT videos that I want to remember. Another is a line a day (5 year book). And the final is my daily notebook that I write to-do lists and other quick notes that don't need remembered once they are done. I also have a reading journal that's a 3 ring binder. Goals ... my biggest goals are to keep up with my exercise routine and keep up with the garden. That's besides the normal things that are important to me. Bible - I like to read the bible a bit quicker because it helps me remember what the story is about (especially helpful for the "Old Testament"). I divide the pages in my Bible by the number of days I'd like to finish, and that's my daily page goal. I use audio for the OT and follow along. I play the audio some times, separate from whatever daily plan I'm doing, when I'm in the kitchen ... whatever I feel like hearing at that moment. I always have a word for the year. This year is "calm". Last year was "focus" ... I'm going to continue with that and "calm" this year. 😊 God bless you and happy new year. 🎉❤
Love your notebook plan!! I feel like I'm often changing things up too. But that is ok.. if it serves my needs this year but not next, than changing it up is a good thing! Your dinner sounds delicious. Love your words for this year! 😊

Yes! Just keep on reading!! 😊💞

That's wonderful!! The Bible app has so many wonderful options.
