- This video of "You and I" of Guys 'n' Dolls was recorded June 20, 1978 for the Dutch tv programm "Ter Land, ter Zee en in de Lucht". The bandmembers are standing on a boat in the harbour of Harlingen. The song was written by Albert Hammond and Carol Bayer-Seger. Guys ‘n’ Dolls was a pop group founded in 1974 as a rival to ABBA. The band consisted of members Paul Griggs (November 20, 1944), David Van Day (1956), Thereza Bazar (1957), Dominic Grant (1949-2020), Martine Howard, and Julie Forsyth (1958), daughter of the British host and entertainer Bruce Forsyth. They scored several big hits, including “There’s A Whole Lot Of Loving”, “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me” and “You're My World”, which even reached number one in The Netherlands, an old Roberta Flack song. Bazar and Van Day left the group in 1977 and achieved great success in Britain as the duo Dollar. With the remaining four members, Griggs, Howard, Grant, and Forsyth, Guys 'n' Dolls continued their way. In 1980, the band moved to the Netherlands, where they started working with record producer Gerard Stellaard. Guys 'n' Dolls fell apart in 1985, after which Grant & Forsyth continued as a duo and scored some hits. Howard had a hit in 1989 with Rob de Nijs with the single “Duet (Ik hou alleen van jou)”. Dominic Grant suddenly died on Wednesday November 18, 2020 to an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

I loved TopPop as an expat kid in Amsterdam at the time. Ad Visser is a friend of mine and I commend him, as well as AVRO TV for giving us that true Pop channel, back in the day. They were renowned in England as well as in your home Low Lands. And I (me), yeah, I love Holland for all those and many more reasons. 💐

I'm wondering if Dominic Grant and the woman with dark hair had something going on at some point. If you've watched any of their other videos, they're holding hands, looking smilingly at each other (a lot), or holding each other while dancing. I know he married someone else later, but this must have been prior to that.
He was married with Julie ( the blond one)
@@ellyvandenhoven823 Yes, that's right, but before that, in his earlier videos, I've seen him and Martine Howard (the dark haired lady), very chummy together, hand holding, hugging, staring at one another, so it made me wonder if perhaps he and Martine had a thing going on before he married Julie Forsythe.
