That was really helpful. Thank you. One thing is in my town I know for a fact that there is a need for what I am selling. I have done the research, I know my demographic, talked to the locals (I’m not originally from here) and I’ve gotten people excited about my products. Now here’s the thing, I would like to set up at the local farmers market but what I’m selling is not ideal for that crowd, nor is it ideal for the flea market unless I want to completely undersell my products. I know that opening up a storefront would be quite beneficial for me. I also have a back up plan because I sell online. I’ve been an online seller and I’ve had my business registered since 2011 so I just feel like I’m ready. I plan on utilizing your tips and incorporating what I’ve learned over the years and creating an exciting new concept to this area with my 1st storefront. Wish me luck.
I imagine some of these point won’t apply for a retail/reseller store where we’ll sell other companies’ products. But, I got a lot of good insight, thanks!
Great story, some great thoughts on not growing to fast, but risk makes big rewards in business, be to careful and research two different things, but you offered many ways to research! Great video
I disagree. The cupcake business failed because of a lack of hype. No one had the desire for a cupcake, so no one cared to come buy one. The couple should have been building hype via social media while preparing to open. I would have made some slow mo gooey specially effects promotional videos on Snapchat and Instagram, to lure in the food lovers, passed out free cupcakes in high traffic social spots to get attention, and possibly opened up shop next to a coffee shop, for strategic purposes. The reason stores take off in LA or NY, is because of population density, demographics, niche followers, and bloggers. Regular cities are slower to react, and need warming up.

I wanna open a small bait and tackle shop, we have a big river and big lake right next door, I only see 1 bait and tackle shop and Walmart, what do you guys think?
Hey, wanting to start a toddler gym in a storefront and would love some help navigating how to start it with minimal setbacks. Do you have an advice video for that or have a chance for a phone call meeting? Thanks in advance -Liz
$5, - per cupcake is too expensive. You get a nicely beautifully decorated cake for $ 5.49 weighing 1.2 kg with oranges & chesse at our local supermarket. And it's storable because frozen!
how do you test the market if you want to open a store for dolls and miniatures? Cause that requires having inventory from companies and stuff, not stuff you've made yourself/have on hand.
Do you give one-on-one advice? I’m starting a business and I’m terrified to be Dave and Sally in the beginning so I’m trying to figure out if there’s a smarter way to open my business

Goosebumps? Is actually a spiritual thing to confirm what's going on at that time I consider it to be a confirmation from God. Stay encouraged and go show the world what you've got.
This is still helpful years later. Basic and on point. It's a wake up call for anyone with a current business to expand or gain more customers also
Omg the background music. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

Unless that company's products pretty much sell themselves (and even then) I think it applies pretty well
Thank you. It's a little more complex though with a non-tangible business, although a few good pointers.
Okay but I really love dippin dots lmao
True! This is a lean way of starting.
This is what you call a free strategy session 👏🏾

Good info, but that generic music loop is a little maddening.

Picked up some ideas, but won’t the local coffee shop start selling the cupcakes themselves . So inadvertently you have a competitor
Great video man! Very good content.

Yo is that Moka Only in the background?
No it isn't. I listened to all their songs. Thank You for wasting my time. It's something royalty-free but You have to pay for it once per use!
They should sell it at a introductory price of $ 0.5 or maximum $1,- until the lines build up!
Hey James, thanks a lot for this!
Great video JC!!!
This is called market investigation.
Were Sally & Dave real though?
Name of the gema-free music? I like it!
A cartoon visualization would have helped big time.. and changing up the music. But great video nether the less 👍
it was really helpful
I really enjoyed the video! I’m struggling trying to figure out how to implement these steps for a cigar lounge.
Just ask 50 people do you smoke cigars, 48 will tell you no they don't smoke cigars THE END.
Long but interested video. Subscribed :)
Hating on the background music, very distracting to what your saying
