M5 has intakes and full catless exhaust on a 93 tune.
M340i has catless downpipe, chargepipes, and E50 tune.
1st race was from 50 MPH
2nd race was from 60 MPH
3rd race (Flyby with no passengers) was from 60 MPH

That B58 is insane. It's not even an "M" engine yet it keeps up with an "M " engine with two more cylinders. It's so easily available in so many platforms too!
Anyone that talks shit abour b58 hasnt experienced it. Solid engines and proper performance and thats coming from M guy. The 1,2,3,440i is all you need. Heck even the 540 rips.

M340i stock turbo are slow. They need big turbo to be impressive. I have a mk7 gti on vortex XL by eqt making 580 whp on e85 and I was fbo. e85 M340i all day getting walked by my GTI I’m talking 3 buss lengths.
I'm highly impressed with the 340i.

Not in Florida I specifically got a 340i bc 240i are all over 40k & the ones with hard tops are even more which is what I wanted. 440i looks to long and boaty to be a coupe. & plus I got a spanking deal on my 340i with 28k in today’s market. But yeah I never have people in the back. Lowkey thinking about getting two anime girl body pillows and just strapping them in the back.

@@mateogarcia1207 they had to re design because bmw had a class action lawsuit for the f10 m5 and every car that had the tt v8 because the turbos are in a hot v configuration and they melted a lot of gaskets
Guys believe it or not the F90s M5 and M8s are a worse design , antifreeze mixing with oil and blow up pistons and rods , but there basically the same design S63tu engine , the F90s fuel system is slightly better

B58 is amazeballs. I own one. I get it. The m5 is 1 tune away from madness tho. Doesn't show to be tuned. If it were I'm guessing it would out out around 700hp. My stg2 340 just ain't keeping up with that.

It's probably because the others cars hp numbers finally overtake the m340i. The m340i is making close to 600 tq. But close to 500 hp.
Yup, same with the older 340i. Very strong torque, but the lack of HP catches up to it.

Get a pure 800 turbo and stage 2 HPFP on the 340i and call it a day!
I’m not sure if the G20 B58TU1 needs an aftermarket HPFP. I believe the technical update comes with upgraded HPFP. You would need that for Stage 2 on an F3 340i tho

This just doesn’t make sense to me how a modded M340i vs a modded M5 is this close of a race. Yes I understand the M340i is lighter and has increased fueling and tuning, but still. The M5 should be A LOT faster considering it’s price and prestige. Why can’t BMW bring back M5 godliness like the E39 M5 once was 😭😭😢
It's possible the tune wasn't very aggressive or was a mail in tune? Not sure. Should have asked who tuned it. Would have had much better idea if it was a good tune or not.

That M5 is like 8 years old. It's not a new one. 340i should have the B58 which is the same engine that's in the supra. 340i probably makes close to 500whp and 500+wtq

The F10 gearing in the DCT is all 5th+, look at the VMAX numbers, the top end is ridiculous but noone ever takes these things past 150. The new F90 although, does a 10.2 on the street with a jb4 only.
M5 needs to be retuned. He should be below 8s 60-130. That 340i shouldn't even be a close match.
I don't know who the tuner was or what kind of tune. I was expecting it to be a bit faster too.

Below 8s on 93oct I highly doubt it, he is definitely on the 8s so for a 93 tune I think he is doing great. I have a dragy from a 2020 m5 comp and the guy is on the 8s with a jb4
@@1savagem3 I own an f10 m5, on downpipes and tune only I was able to manage a 7.5-7.6 60-130. After intakes I brought it down to 7.2.
A good running f10 m5 is capable of consistent mid 7s 60-130 on a
93oct tune.
@@Thatbimmerguyy I understand that but you also have to look at the weather and humidity. What people make in other places is not the same as down here in Miami. My car is capable of doing 8.2 and even lower on a great weather, I have done 8.4 in the winter but brother is not the same now. Believe me when I say that. If you live down here and you are doing 7s with your m5 on 93 oct then I shut my mouth and my respect to your build and the tuner.
If the f10 was on e85, that 340 would of been completely busy lengthed.
Would have also blown it's motor to soon after...
