I love the Suffering animatics that depict the siren getting fed up. Like "It's NOT supposed to be this hard!!!"
It's interesting how you focused on siren's expression when Ody asked her about Poseidon. Haven't seen that before, that makes the "oh no" part so more sarcastic lol
the siren probably just thinks "what's the point in asking? you'll jump in anyway"
I love it so much XD The voice sounds like such low effort worry too, always cracks me up.
Ive seen a couple people take a sarcastic take on the “oh no” and it cracks me up every time

Okay this is probably my favourite animatic of "Suffering" now because of various things like the little details and expressions but also because of well the hair tuck

The siren is subtly fishy, in a great way! I love the sharp teeth and nails, seeing her grab Odysseus's wrist was neat! Beginning it with the beautiful motion of the rowing and entrance into the cave was a nice touch
the bit at 2:17 where he's getting his bow and arrow ready but still stalling for time is incredible
i like how you made the sirens tapped her feets like she is actually thinking ablut giving ody a proper answer

OOOO I love this take on the Siren’s behavior here!!! The way she gets so frustrated with Odysseus not giving her what she wants, her actually contemplating his question, her reaction when she realizes she’s been tricked, SO so cool!!

The idea of him twirling his hair behind his head is just such a good one the community made, but ALSO THE KAWAII FACE- also I love how the syren actually ponders where Odysseus can pass to get home
i like how before every fight the name of the threat is said repeatedly, so the sirens singing "penelope" is telling us that they're a threat (if the "jump in the water" lines and Odysseus' trick questions didn't make it obvious)

And her impatience when repeating 'I would take the suffering from you!" towards the end is really funny.
Love how you portrayed the siren with black eyes when she was "seeing" which route Odysseus had to take, like she was using magic to see beyond. Also her face when she says well you asked and now you know was so idk man it seems like a you problem lmao

I love this animatic because it shows the siren actually thinking through the problem and then having a dawning revelation. Even a thin facsimile of Penelope has enough of her intelligence to help him think through a solution.
I had to restart the video halfway through because I absolutely lost it at the expression during "you know I'm too shy and terrified" and couldn't pay attention for a good chunk of time. Unexpected moment of levity in an animation that does a fantastic job of slowly ratcheting up the tension. I absolutely LOVE that the siren sees the weapons before Odysseus turns around and knows she's absolutely cooked before she's actually hit, it really adds to the drama of it all to get to see her terror. Well done!
I love everyones' drawings of Odysseus' "I'm too shy" face, they're always so over-the-top funny. 2:04 takes the cake tho, oh my GOD

Ok i think this is my favorite animatic I've seen of this song, it conveys the expressions so well. I love how she agrees to answer his question, then gets tired of his yapping but at this point she has to go along so she just replies with "oh no" in a fake-concerned way. I also love how she treats the question like a puzzle she has to think a solution for and when he doesn't jump she just get increasingly more frustrated
Edit: also i didn't see anyone mention this but her feet aren't feet, they look more fins it's so funny how she taps them like they were feet while thinking about the question
Imagine him coming home and settling down with his beloved wife and son ,days pass ,but one day he suddenly gets a glimpse of the ocean and realizes that his hand and heart tremble in fear

I'm pretty sure the point is that sirens can't read minds. Also most people in ancient Greece would have more than one kid, so she probably was assuming there was a high chance he had to have at least one daughter. Not like she could know he was forced to leave home after having only one son.
@@Troublethecatokay so fun fact! According to the creator the way that these sirens work is that once you hear the music and come under their spell they can read your mind perfectly.
However since they had beeswax in it couldn’t quite take hold.
So while they are able to read his mind, it’s basically all half truths.
Like they know what Penelope looks like, but they don’t know details of what she knows about him.
They know he has one child with her, but thinks it’s a daughter and not a son.

This animatic definitely has my favorite reactions for Siren Penelope. She thinks Odysseus isn’t really seeing her cuz of her song so she is visibly annoyed
I really love the part where "Penelope" is caressing odysseus' face after she tells him about going thru scylla's lair. You did really good!
LOVE this! Her steadily growing frustration, his toying with her, the looming shadow over her right after her "oh nooo"?? You wonderfully captured how Odysseus is the apex predator here. Well done! My favourite animatic for this song so far

God this is sooo good! The first shot when you see the bow and and arrows sitting out of her sight, when she does the little taps with her tail and just all of the facial expressions!! So much details I love it
I like how here we can see Sirenelope progressively approaching the deck as if HE was luring her to come closer

A neat mix of comedy and unique perspective! The way you focus on the siren's expressions makes the inevitable reveal much more impactful. I wasn't expecting Odysseus to look back with such a crazed glint in his eye, but it's chilling. Well done!

You completed it, and it's incredible!!!! The expressions and emotions in your art always draw me in like one of the sirens 😂 The way you're able to convey a million ideas through faces and actions is a wonder. Some of my favourite examples of this are:
- The siren and how she slowly becomes more and more aggravated with Odysseus. The way she goes from lying to bored to straight-up pissed off is so fun to watch! All until it's too late, and she notices the bow, it's so genius!!
- The character design of the siren and how you show her maturity as Penelope would be, the siren eyes when she's tippy tapping her feet and actually thinking about something in-depth and the siren drawing at the end.. such a cool concept to think about.
- Finally, I love how you show Odysseus throughout. Besides the goofy 'Penelope why' scene which I loved, you draw him with such a knowing and cunning expression throughout it all, and the way he shows his back to her so often that it becomes second nature until he draws the bow on her 😮
Sorry for the ramble, but this animatic was so fun to watch, and i had so many thoughts and feelings watching it!!! 💛

I LOVE THIS. I loved the snippet you showed us prior, but the full one is here! Anyways, as stated prior, i adore the design for odysseous and Siren!Penelope, and the unique little design you showed at 2:31. I love how odysseous acted the whole time, being somewhat saddened at seeing his "wife", remmaining a trickster the whole time. I also love Siren!Penelope, how she slowly loses her sanity at this stubborn guy, how she considers the question he asks her, , and the look at 2:26 when she realizes she's f*cked. Thanks for making it.

Lovely details, the nails that verge on claw like when she grabs his arm, the way her tapping foot looks more and more like fin as we focus on it, her seriously considering the question of avoiding Poseidon, him coyly brushing his hair past his ear, and especially how she notices the bow and arrow and realizes he's on to her! So much great stuff.

Love the depiction of Ares overpowering Athena in a direct confrontation but being defeated by her tactics and tricks.
Ares is the strength, courage and passion of war. Athena is the strategies, the plans, and cold bloodedness to win a war.
Also, for the honor of Greeks in their time Ares had good points about Odysseus and Scylla.
