i put a ziptie on the back holes of the livewell and clip my bubble box there. it would always fall off the handle when i would clip it on there. now it works ways better 👍
I saw your video earlier, great idea. I bought an aquarium aerator bar $1.79 and glued it to the bottom of the bucket. It produces more air bubbles and seems to keep bait live longer.
BTW - my test of your water shoes is going really well. It will go through the final phase in early February. So far, I like them and would recommend them.
With the bubbler, I usually do not put more than 12 mullet (6 inch) in the bucket. Mud minnows and shrimp are smaller, so you could probably put 18 in there.
I have seen other guys take an old cooler (sized to fit in the kayak) and attach the aerator to that (maybe two aerators for large fish). The issue is keeping the water fresh. With this container, it is only out of the water when I am paddling. I guess you could still do the cooler if you periodically refreshed the water. By the time you add a pump to circulate the water, things get expensive.
Do you really need more than this? That depends. Are you trying to keep blueback herring alive in early summer heat? If so, then yes - you do need more than this. :)
I have been pondering a livewell for a while now and this is just the idea I have been looking for... Thanks again Steve!
Thank you for this video! I can't believe I hadn't thought of that.. Great idea!!
+Bryce T You;re welcome!

I need to do the same

Good idea!
I'll be doing that soon, what type of glue ?
@@LatinRazcals I used gorilla glue. Get the largest aerator bar that will fit in your bucket or cooler.
Good video! Liking these pond hopping vids since most of us don't have boats.

thanks for that ,can't wait for that anymore, let us know at that time
Love your channel
Thanks! That's the feedback that keeps me chugging away!
Great idea, thank you!
You are welcome
Simple and smart. thanks for sharing
You bet!
One more ? What is the max number of mud minnows and shrimp this could safely carry. thank you

The $300 Hobie live wells use the scuppers on the Kayak to circulate water, so you don't need an air pump
and it uses a pump to circulate the water... kind of the same principle - get aerated water to the bait.
Nice tip. I'll try it
Go for it and let me know how it works for you
That"s my set up...it's perfect for me.
Great!
Sit the small bucket in your kayak on a foam pad to absorb the vibration/sound. No brainer.
Great tip
+BloodSweatnBassOutside Thanks!
Need something to hold a bass in. Got any ideas

I have seen that as well. The only issue is what happens when you have to move.
cool idea thank you sir
More to come!
Are using this set up with your new Yak?
Yes. Still sorting out where everything goes.
Why not just tow the live well when you paddle? Plenty of water flow. A torpedo-shaped bait tube would reduce drag.
Soooo much drag :-) Even a torpedo shape made out of PVC would really slow things down.
Do you really need more than this? That depends. Are you trying to keep blueback herring alive in early summer heat? If so, then yes - you do need more than this. :)
Thanks for that caveat
I need more :-) not going to fit a bass or walleye in there . So I don't count this as a live well .
Yes, maybe I should really call this a bait well. :-)
