Just fixed a flat tire, following your instructions. I must say I don't understand all the negative comments around here. It wasn't too difficult, I even managed to put it back on only using the soap, zip ties and hands as shown in the video. Just follow the steps exactly and many thanks for the video, very useful!
I think you probably got lucky with a looser fitting tyre. Believe me, if you are unlucky, it's almost impossible because of the amount of tension on the new tyre.
@@nea.m5405 You ideally need big tyre levers, about a foot long. Don't be scared to be rough with it because it is very hard. Maybe bet someone to help as three hands are better.

Amazing the cable ties did the trick. Took me about 30 minutes with cold tire and without soap, I really don't understand the negative comments it's easy if you have the specific tools in the video (two metal prying bars from ebay), don't use anything else it won't work. The cable ties have to be really tightly secured and it will keep the tire from slipping off the frame. From there it's simple, you don't even need force if you do it right, just keep working in small steps and securing small parts of the tire with cable ties and you'll eventually go around the whole thing. Thanks again ❤
Thanks so much man! Took me 3 hours, had to redo the zip ties 2 times but I got there in the end. With a cold tire your tutorial still helped me, guys have patience and follow correctly
took me 3 hours and 20 minutes. xiaomy 2 m365 bought in 2018 and today i get my 1 flat on rear tyre. Biggest problem was to put out old tire from wheel. The air in soul in tyre was probably in bigger amount. So i scratch my black wheel so many times. damn, my hands hurt. Even i was pushing surface of tire, there was problem to get air out. I used pliers to get valve out and then finally i removed soul from tyre. Zipping was easy, I recommend use more soap. greeting from Slovakia

Thank you, I had been struggling to get the second side of the tyre back on as the tyre levers made it just too tight, following your instructions, i had it back on quicker than the instructions showed it. cable ties are the way.

ahh man thanks - the zip tie bit was super helpful and got me over the hump. i couldnt believe it when i finally got the tire on lol. what a huge pain in the butt
How tf did you do it? I manage to put the 3 first zip ties on, with that part of the tyre tucked in, but then the rest of the tyre I just can't even move. Feels like I need a grip of a rock climber to do it
@@mariopurisic5133 you have to patiently work your way around, by crimping the tire into the rim so you can get the other side on. Its definitely a pain
@@kneel1 I think the rubber is just too hard to bend that much. I'm not the strongest, but the strength need to bend the rubber is unreal. I have the spare I got with the scooter, I just feel the one you used is way more maluable
@@mariopurisic5133 I assume you did it by now, but anyway :) ... You can put the tire in hot water for some time, 10-20 minutes. The soap helps more than you would initially think, just try to get it on the edges right between tire and rim. Then, , what helped me the most ... when you put a zip tie on, it would look like it is at max, but not yet, you can grab tire left and right of that zip tie, squeeze the tire more and push it even more inside the rim, then zip tie can be tighten even more. After that with only 3 zip ties, I seen how the loose end of the tire was almost on rim. Took 5-10 mins once I got the right moves :)
Except the part of getting in the tire into the wheel it's a good video 💯❤️🔥 The part of getting in the tire was very hard to do ( finally did it with friend helps ) Thanks for the video❤
Excellent - thank you. Remember our carpentry rule - "Measure twice, saw once" - in other words don't hesitate to STOP! Have patience. Stand back. THINK! Absolutely the best approach, sometimes. TIP = before replacing the screws, give each 2 or 3 squirts of cheapo hairspray on the thread(s) - it contains just the right amount/type of adhesive to stop them vibrating loose. Plus it sometimes smells walnutty - mmmmmmm. Happy scootering and DON'T FORGET YOUR HELMET/lights.!
went to the bike shop. they could not put back the tyre. i saw this video and was able to do it. I only have to realy tight the bands with a tool. but was escencially this technique! thanks!!!
Don’t be put off by the comments, done it first time in about 40 mins. Took a lot of fiddling and stressed my hands but definitely saved a friend a lot of effort
When I tried different things, I seen putting it in hot water helps a bit, but in the end, I did it without hot water, just squeezing the zip ties more and more until the oposite / loose end was almost on rim.
Tips: When you put a zip tie, even thou it looks like it is tighten at maximum, tighten the tire again by grabbing to left and right areas of that zip tie, squeeze tire and push it down even more, then zip tie can be tighten even more. The soap helps a lot, even thou I thought it is not that important. But try not to cover all tire in soap, or your hands will slip on it. I first tried for around 2 hours by different methods and I couldn't do it, I even tried the zip ties before seeing the video, maybe I seen it before. With above moves and after the video, I put it in 5-10 minutes. It only needed 3 zip ties and I think wider ones work better, at least as wide as in this video. When tire is pushed enough, you will see the loose end looks good and almost on rim. I just used a very small flimsy tire lever.
Yes it worked! First time I tried it was hell and after hours I got the new outer tire on but somehow managed to damage te inner tire... 2 months later I attempted again, the outer tire was much less stiff and in good shape, I did it in 5 minutes!
day 1, trying to replace the tire using vicegrip method and tire tools that pinched the tube and required a large patch in addition to the first repair patch, day 2 still at it and decided to refer to youtube, liquid soap and ties ! many thanks
Replaced with the original spare tire. That thing is hard. Nahds hurt! I have no idea what kind of tire you use, but either you're Stallone and hard as a rock in your grip or this is some really soft rubber. That thing with the zip ties - totally sadistic, hard and it's 50/50 that will work properly. It looks damn easy on this video but it is not!
yes lots of videos i had the same issue. but actually it works if you just keep working it from bottom and move up the sides, tying them down as you go to prevent it from slipping off. Then use metal tire levers to get the final bit over the rim. But i hear ya. took me ages
I have now changed four tyres and the key is to use plenty of vaseline, two people and several bike tyre levers. This way it is relatively simple. The first time was hell.
2 extra tips 1 keep fingers away from contact point of brake disk the oil on your fingers can be damaging to performance tip 2 keep the Inner tube slightly inflated do reduce chance of twisting inertube
It is more difficult than it appears in this video. It will get less difficult with practice (if you have the luxury to spend time). The secret is to use 3 long levers and use your legs to hold the tire and lock one of the three levers. This video shows good starting points though.
I had to loosen the brake disc before putting the wheel back on as the brake unit prevents putting the wheel back on. God knows how I got it out but probably easier to loosen the break disc before removal too
I had to use 2 massive drivers at the end 15:51. Please proceed at your own risk. These instructions are not very realistic. Made me go through a whole "never give up" moment. But I'm glad I did it myself
I was able to do it after this video, but not with my bare hands. It also had to use some metal levers, but anyway... what matters is that it was a SUCCESS.
Hi I have got i10 plus e scooter but their isno small hole on the side of that yellow lights. Have u got any other option to open take the yellow light out?
Good tutorial, however I STRONGLY do NOT recommend using the zip-tie method to attach the new tyres. I wasted about an hour and a lot of energy trying to use zip-ties. Instead use two tyre levers or anything else you have that's long (25-30cm at least), flat and made of metal. It's so much easier and faster, only thing you gotta watch out for is popping the inner tube, but that's very easy to avoid.
Okay, I only came back here to tell that if you find any part of DIY fun, this isn't scary at all. With just two small, metal tire spoons, about 60-90 minutes and having absolutely no experience in changing tires, I went through the whole process. (no boiling tires, no heating tires, no soaps or anything. Maybe they work but i did not feel the need to use them) I took some time fiddling and trying techniques. Honestly speaking I damaged the paintwork on the edges of the rims quite a bit while moving tools (I don't care how they look, I just want to ride, but if you do care a lot, either be very careful or get some shop to do it for you) but it's only small visual damage, that would happen with time on it's own either way. The second time I did it just to put my newly acquired knowledge to the test (only the tire and tube changing part) it took me exactly 12 minutes. Really, just knowing what to do is all the difference. I hope that when i get to changing the front tire, it will be as easy. I want to make it very clear, as comments under those tire changing videos are scary - it's realty not that difficult. You don't even need that much strength, what matters is technique. The second hardest part is putting the small valve in the hole located in the rim - but it's a matter of a little patience and fiddling, nothing more. The hardest part is putting the tire back on. There's no point in writing technical tips, but what I would say is that you should: 1. Take it slow, baby steps, move the tools bit by bit, don't try to do it in a sweep - you will fail or bend the spoons, which brings me to the second point 2. Don't use too much strength. It's a pretty small tire, it doesn't require that much. If you ever feel that you aren't strong enough, it's probably because you are doing something wrong. Don't force it, look for a better spoon placement and try again. Overall it was a pretty enjoyable experience, amplified by the fact most comments come from people who say it's impossible. (I did this on a 2018, M365 that purchased used, with a flat rear tire. Maybe new ones are the harder ones?)
Yo, idk if you can read this or not, but do you by chance know what type of screw or it's specification for the reinforcement rod at @3:08 ? A friend took my scooter during the holidays and replaced the inner tube at a store, but then they forgot to screw in the mudguard parts and now it's missing the screws there that i need to buy.
I did it 😁 it worked well. In theory it's understandable actually, but the part 19 was the kinda more difficult part, because it just needed a little bit more straight, so I asked my brother to push the inner part 😂 it's not difficult at all actually, but just needed some straight girls 😊
Great video! Unfortunately, in trying to attempt to change my third solid tyre, I'm through :) The frustration, yelling, swearing and yes, throwing it a few metres down the garden, has made me stop and buy a bike instead. I'm sure there's an easier way to change this solid Xiaomi tyre? :)
I didn't have cable ties, I thought I can do this, no, I just got rid of a lot of paint on the wheel, and also defected my new tire, so not a succesful day after 6 hours of trying... I hate it, shit, I could just wait and bought some...
Got all imaginable tools (repared the tire) but getting the wheel back....took hours. My trick after tried everything was loosen brake disk and later in some weird slope tighten it again. Someone commented earlier- this engineer should go to prison! Agreed! Tutorial is supper tho, no problem w that.
@@districtultimate9916 I have the 1S scooter and it was impossible to do using this method. I spent an entire day trying to do it using this method and several others, and besides bloody fingers I didn’t achieve anything. If you try this method then you will need several tools which I didn’t have. I assume your scooter has a different design which makes it possible using this method, but for mine it was impossible.
@@TheBeansChopper If you have no choice other than to do it yourself I would suggest watching a few other videos and see which method seems the best and trying it. Some tools are necessary in order to do this successfully like a few adjustable wrenches which allow you to bend the tire in order to fit it inside
i think the most critical bit of information was missed in the tutorial, the new Tyre must be pre-heated before mounting as zip ties make no difference when the tyre is cold.
Yes, inserting your tire into boiling water for a few minutes will make it more pliable and easier to handle. Thank you for your advice and help for the community 💚🛴
Big thanks for the video! My 5 cents on this: it is CRITICAL to get the lower part of tyre inside the rim and tighten the zip-ties, only then it is possible to mount the tyre fully back on with no great effort. Even cheap plastic tyre-levers will do.

Konkretnie i na temat z narzędziami odpowiednimi do procesu - pozdrawiam.
This is an amazing video..steps are very clear.Thank you very much for this video.🙏🙏🙏
Yes it worked! First time I tried it was hell and after hours I got the new outer tire on but somehow managed to damage te inner tire... 2 months later I attempted again, the outer tire was much less stiff and in good shape, I did it in 5 minutes!
Thank you so much for your video. It saved me a lot of time.
day 1, trying to replace the tire using vicegrip method and tire tools that pinched the tube and required a large patch in addition to the first repair patch, day 2 still at it and decided to refer to youtube, liquid soap and ties ! many thanks
Thank you so much for the video!!! You're a life saver 😊❤
Very very helpful. Got me through my tyre change! Thanks a lot 🙏
Thank you so much for this, This is really help me change my back tire.
I've finally did it! Thank you man!
Same issue
yes lots of videos i had the same issue. but actually it works if you just keep working it from bottom and move up the sides, tying them down as you go to prevent it from slipping off. Then use metal tire levers to get the final bit over the rim. But i hear ya. took me ages
Super easy, barely an inconvenience ruclips.net/video/erkiIxc2XfE/видео.html
Thanks. Helped a lot to do the job alone
Thank you so much
Can’t believe I actually did it
Thank you, it was harder on xiaomi 3 but I get it done ✌️
Hey. Why was it harder? MI 3 uses Allen screws or torx screws? Thanks a lot
I had to loosen the brake disc before putting the wheel back on as the brake unit prevents putting the wheel back on. God knows how I got it out but probably easier to loosen the break disc before removal too
This video was absolutely helpful.
😊😊👍
My zip tie was short so I linked 2 as one
very, very helpful. I need the version 3 tires. can you help ?? 10x2.125 thank you, Al
This tutorial is THE BEST EVER! 👌👍💯 it made the job really easy! Thanks a lot! 🙏
Thank you, so much. You'we done and excellent work and I love the montaz too. Keep the good work
I did this witout zip ties/lube, ended up standing on the tire and brute forcing it, was dripping sweat by the end of it 10/10.
easy! but one question, have u tried to change to a bigger profile of tier and also to an off road tier? its great!!!
Good video🎯💯✔ Thanks...

I had to use 2 massive drivers at the end 15:51. Please proceed at your own risk. These instructions are not very realistic. Made me go through a whole "never give up" moment. But I'm glad I did it myself
thank you it's been a great help
Bro thanks ,it s really useful,i foght 1.5 hour to put the tyre back whitout results🙈🙈🙈,then i found your video 👍👍💪💪💪
Great video and on a joke note your white sweater doesn't get any dirt that means it was easy :P
Great video! Well done :)
I was able to do it after this video, but not with my bare hands. It also had to use some metal levers, but anyway... what matters is that it was a SUCCESS.
Thank you so much
It was so helpful 😊
Amazing tutorial, thanks a lot guys!!!!
Thank YOU ! Great help !
First time, front wheel took me 6 hours. Second time, back wheel only 3 hours.
Now I feel I can replace Boing 747 entire wheel set
Thank you guys, really appreciate such detail explanation!
thanks for the video, I got stuck at the end with the zip ties, I'll go to some professionals to put the tire in place :(
Hi I have got i10 plus e scooter but their isno small hole on the side of that yellow lights. Have u got any other option to open take the yellow light out?
The best video. Thank you so much 👍
u save me man!!! Thanks a lot!!!!
With just two small, metal tire spoons, about 60-90 minutes and having absolutely no experience in changing tires,
I went through the whole process.
(no boiling tires, no heating tires, no soaps or anything.
Maybe they work but i did not feel the need to use them)
I took some time fiddling and trying techniques.
Honestly speaking I damaged the paintwork on the edges of the rims quite a bit while moving tools
(I don't care how they look, I just want to ride, but if you do care a lot, either be very careful or get some shop to do it for you)
but it's only small visual damage, that would happen with time on it's own either way.
The second time I did it just to put my newly acquired knowledge to the test
(only the tire and tube changing part)
it took me exactly 12 minutes.
Really, just knowing what to do is all the difference.
I hope that when i get to changing the front tire, it will be as easy.
I want to make it very clear, as comments under those tire changing videos are scary -
it's realty not that difficult.
You don't even need that much strength, what matters is technique.
The second hardest part is putting the small valve in the hole located in the rim - but it's a matter of a little patience and fiddling, nothing more.
The hardest part is putting the tire back on. There's no point in writing technical tips, but what I would say is that you should:
1. Take it slow, baby steps, move the tools bit by bit, don't try to do it in a sweep - you will fail or bend the spoons, which brings me to the second point
Perfect, nice job man😀
Hi bro I have one quick question what tool do you use to open your disc from the tyre name of the tool please bro
Struggling with a 10" scooter tire, using zip ties to keep the tire from walking around in circles and undoing itself is great.
Really good instructions.
Thank you very much my teacher
I did it 😁 it worked well. In theory it's understandable actually, but the part 19 was the kinda more difficult part, because it just needed a little bit more straight, so I asked my brother to push the inner part 😂 it's not difficult at all actually, but just needed some straight girls 😊
For everyone wondering, step 19 is at 10:29
Great video!
Unfortunately, in trying to attempt to change my third solid tyre, I'm through :)
The frustration, yelling, swearing and yes, throwing it a few metres down the garden, has made me stop and buy a bike instead.
I'm sure there's an easier way to change this solid Xiaomi tyre? :)
Just use the tires without air so you wont have to change them next 20 years? or get ninebot which has like car tires and no inner tube?
amazing content, thank you so much.
It works. Thanks.
I used zip ties and liquid soap to lubricate the rim. Had to use a lot of force but got it on in 10-15 minutes
awesome video!
5:10 You can use the tale of the spoon/fork to remove and put it back, than just bare hands
what size allenkey did u use
Perfect! It worked as described. Thank you!
were to find V3 tyre, 10 X 2.125 ??
I didn't have cable ties, I thought I can do this, no, I just got rid of a lot of paint on the wheel, and also defected my new tire, so not a succesful day after 6 hours of trying... I hate it, shit, I could just wait and bought some...
Better to service your e-scooter at your local bike store
I changed it in about 2 hours, now the rim is all scratched hahha. This inner tube replacement is hell, ngl
Thanks man... its done
8:30 how do you which way is front?
Genuinely don’t try this, just save yourself a tremendous amount of time and misery and pay to get it replaced. Absolutely insane process
this worked great for me I changed the tyre in only 30 minutes
@@districtultimate9916 I have the 1S scooter and it was impossible to do using this method. I spent an entire day trying to do it using this method and several others, and besides bloody fingers I didn’t achieve anything. If you try this method then you will need several tools which I didn’t have. I assume your scooter has a different design which makes it possible using this method, but for mine it was impossible.
I would love to, but I asked 5 different bicycle stores and NONE of them would even touch these. They all know what a mess this is
@@TheBeansChopper If you have no choice other than to do it yourself I would suggest watching a few other videos and see which method seems the best and trying it. Some tools are necessary in order to do this successfully like a few adjustable wrenches which allow you to bend the tire in order to fit it inside
Halfords... ten quid a year... or just buy a new scooter and have it delivered... ;))
i think the most critical bit of information was missed in the tutorial, the new Tyre must be pre-heated before mounting as zip ties make no difference when the tyre is cold.
I can hear your a cockney 👍 great video very informative thanks 😊
