  • This is the Exterior version of my Interior lighting effects video. Like the previous video the purpose of this is not necessarily to watch the entire thing (although it would help out the channel!) but to have it as a resource to look up what a specific effect does.
    I have compiled example photos that can be used to isolate certain effects without having to set up a file and render out the photos, so I encourage you to download them from the google drive link below so that you have the resources available whenever you need them!

    Thanks for this video. It is very useful that with an example we see the criteria you use, and then according to our model, follow ours. Very practical. Thank you!! Feliz año nuevo

    So far the best channel covering details on Lumion. Just one thing I noticed about the Skylight effect - Brightness slider definitely seems to control dynamic range + a bit of tonal control. That would explain why sky is much darker on 2 and shadow vs highlight is so strong on 0. With the HDRI sphere, have you tried using google street view images? There is a Chrome extension called Panofetch that can download the panorama. I've used it before to get correct reflections for the building site.

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  3 года назад

      You may be right about the Skylight. Perhaps it is me just not using the effects correctly but it seems like sky light and real skies have weird interactions together.
      I played around with using Google Street view and it does work quite well. I can't remember what the name of the software was now for getting the panoramas. If you bring in the HDRI sphere and just play with the height of it (for the horizon line) then you can really get some nice context reflections. The other thing that takes some work is to bring Google Earth 3d models into Blender and then to Lumion.

    Amazing video! Can I ask where you got the models to build the context of the scene? (surrounding buildings)

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  3 года назад

      These are all built into Lumion! If you look in the outdoor section there should be one for buildings. You can also purchase the packs of houses off of evermotion.

    Another great video !! It missed just an information for me, but perhaps did you said it : how do you do your interior lightning ? what did you used here ?
    Thanks for sharing your knowledge with is.

      So when I'm doing interior lighting for exterior shots, this is what I would do.
      ruclips.net/video/Hts-n6Y4e-w/видео.html
      But when it comes to actually lighting interiors with natural light, this is what I do. This video is the same style as the one we are commenting on!

    If Lumion was your first choice what would your second choice be in a rendering program.

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  3 года назад

      Technically I would say blender but I feel like the programs are quite different. Looking at enscape, d5, twinmotion I am not actually sure which one I would pick. I am going to be making a video where I go into the software with no experience and seeing which one holds up the best
