I’m so glad you didn’t get rid of any of them. I downsized my collection and have regretted ever since. You could always rotate your collection.
If what you brought makes you happy then u made the right choices.
I can imagine how draining it may have been to choose between all those dolls especially when you have such a soft soft for most of them!
I think you chose the right dolls. If you plan on keeping them in those boxes for an extended period of time I recommend putting them in rows and putting some white paper towels or something similar in between the rows as you stack them. I did that, and even then one of the dolls that had been next to each other shifted when I moved one of my boxes and her purse slid down and I had not noticed. Months later when I went to get some of them out for display the face of the doll next to her was stained.

Are daughter is 20, she’s been out on her own now for a year! She dose only live 20 mins away. And I swear we see her more now then when she lived with us. But all of her dolls, has become mine! She gave them to me.👏🏻

Hi there, I would recommend either wrapping each doll in wax paper (wax side out) or putting sheets of paper between layers. I have found that storing dolls in big boxes like that sometimes leads to one having colour stain another. I find that it is sometimes clothes, other times it's one dolls hair staining another dolls skin. That is, if you are planning to keep them this way long term.
If the ones you brought with you give you joy then you have made the right choices! ^ - ^

I think many collectors reach a point like you did. But boy, it’s hard to choose. When I moved three years ago to a much smaller place, I kept my Barbie Silkstone Fashion Model Collection dolls. Just couldn’t let those go!

I'm so glad you didn't actually get rid of any. I've been collecting dolls , mainly Barbie, since I was about 6. I had rid of most of my collection as a young adult in a relationship. I did regret it. Sooo, I started collecting again and ended up with around over 800. I downsized and sold my Bratz dolls and playline barbs. I regret that. I miss those Bratz. 😭

It’s hilarious how you called the new dolls trash! Well I guess it is somewhat true as the dolls from the 80’s, 90’s & even 00’s are so much better. In particular the face moulds & paint actually vary rather than being the same.
I didn’t realize how much the Bratz Sasha and Jade collector 2018 dolls were going for. Jade in box is like $800 now wtf?!??

I love that you have dolls under your bed. I get my dolls out and lay them all over my bed, comb their hair and dress them. I call it doll-a-palooza.

I am lucky, I have never had to downsize my collection as I am quite picky which dolls I collect. Space is usually my issue and as I like to look at all of them at the same time.
I am jealous of your scooby doo dolls though. They are cool.

I had to do the same thing. Just moved into the new house. So I downsized my doll collection. Also downsized a bunch of my other things I collect as well.

I beleive you made the right decision. I think we all sometimes need to leave some stuffs behind to be able to move around you know. As long as you're happy and at least priorities the ones that means the most to you I think it's good. :)
I see myself in the future when I 'll move out of my "parents" house with my huge barbie and doll collecton, I have never had my own room so I hope one day I can display all of my dolls😌🥺. That's so sad that I have to share the room with my little brothers (13yrs&20yrs&Iam21yrs). I alway take a doll with me when go back to the campus and yeah, just like you I can't decide which doll what I want take with me for a week..😂😅(sorry my bad english🤣😂)

In my case I'd probably leave all my playline dolls, like my Monster High, OMG etc collection and just grab my actual expensive ones, like Smart Dolls and BJDs, that would be much harder/impossible to repurchase later.

i feel like this is a new opportunity for displaying them.... ive seen a collection on a shelf wrap around shelf along the top of the room and one that was in a toy net that was cool... but then you have to dust religiously and watch out for sun damage from the windows

here’s a suggestion, don’t put so much dolls in a box or they’ll get really dirty and dusty, keep them outside so they can be clean.
they’re most likely to get dusty outside of a box!
I don’t follow that reasoning at all, and I have a science degree. No dust gets into a sealed tote, whereas any dust in the air will settle on a doll on a shelf. One important thing, though, is to ensure there is no moisture in a box or tote. Moisture can cause mould growth. Consider getting some silica packets to put in if you live in an area with high humidity.
I’m guessing you’re a new collector. This is absolutely the opposite. Placing them in closed storage will prevent them from getting dirty whereas displaying them outside will attract more dust.
@DiamondStudios If you properly place them in containers then they won’t get frizzy.

There is no right or wrong decision..its whatever brings you joy. Plus you can always rotate them!😉 As my doll collection expands exponentially I fear the day when I will have to make some hard decisions. What do you do with dolls you want to let go of Joey? Do you sell them, donate them or like most of us im sure, find crafty ways if warehousing them? How do you decide who goes? Great video!

You can't. I had to import mine from the site and shipping cost more than the dolls!

I literally just relocated from a house to a very small rental, right now everything is in boxes, 30 large boxes because I did not get rid of any bit of my collection. So now I’m faced with the decision which ones do I get rid of. It’s rough.

@Macy Grant I store them with the clothes wrapped in acid free tissue paper. It seems to be fine.
