What a stand-up guy, 4 mins in and I'm feeling that, given the tone and energy of RJ city, Ricky is still just doing the interview the proper way. Class act all the way for sure! A true legend!
"The Dragon" is one of the most underappreciated/overlooked wrestlers of all-time! When you consider the goat or the mount rushmore of wrestling, he's not mentioned enough, but should be.
No he isn’t. He is considered to have had the one of the best or the best program in history with Ric Flair in 1989. Pretty sure of the year. He just didn’t win a world title. I think something called racism played into that.
My buddy actually moved to North Carolina about ten years ago when he was around 23 and worked with Dragon's brother at a Lowes down there. One of the wildest stories I've ever heard. Love seeing Ricky back in the spotlight
Real talk, why didn't he ever tag team with William Regal so their team could be called Steamboat Willie? That would have been incredible. And why didn't Big Dick Dudley ever form a Freebird-like stable with High Energy (Owen Hart and Koko B. Ware) called Big Dick Energy?
@@jayczzzya Or a Sting/Luger sort of deal where one of them is just an hero, and the other’s a goddamn bastard, but likes his partner enough to PRETEND to be nice.

His matches with Flair, Jake the Snake, The Macho Man, and Muraco, and the storylines behind them. He is one of the greatest technical wrestlers of all time....a true LEGEND 👈
Ricky is my favorite wrestler of all time. I'm glad you were able to have him on. He seemed to be a bit apprehensive at first, but got into it as the show went along. I hope you had a good time with him.
This reminds me of trying to tell your uncle jokes and he just tries to keep telling stories because he doesn’t get that you’re joking around. Love it💜
Ricky Steamboat is one of my favorite guest commentators ever, just the perfect balance of gravitas and love of the game. Love seeing him in AEW. 7:36 is the most genuine smile I've ever seen in my life.
This was such a good episode!! Tony, I think RJ earned his all elite graphic by finally turning Ricky heel! Let's make this happen and maybe show the graphic at all in!!
Piper got me hooked on wrestling as a kid.. but Savage.. made me a lifelong fan.. that Mania 3 Match.. even as a kid... I knew It was special.. I watched that match at least 50 times on my VHS Recorder.. Macho Man was on another level and Ricky was a perfect foil for him...
Ricky Steamboat was my childhood favorite along with the British Bulldogs back when was a little kid in the 80s. That Savage-Steamboat match at WM 3 blew my mind at the time, still a fun match to watch.. Love seeing AEW acknowledge him and have enjoyed him making appearances every so often. Although this isn't as funny as a lot of episodes , I enjoyed hearing his stories about how he got started in the business etc. I enjoyed the heel Steamboat bit.
Ricky Steamboat was Fantastic way way back into his pro wrestling career he has wrestled so so many wrestlers one of my favorite matches was Ricky taking on Randy Savage what a Classic and lets not forget about him wrestling against The Nature Boy which was a classic indeed
Richard Blood, aka Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, one of my top 5 professional wrestlers of all time of the 1980s. The Dragon has had one one hell a wrestling career. 🐲🔥
Loved this episode! Steamboat was always a favorite. "Heel" Ricky was delightful. Of course RJ knows Zoobilee Zoo. What a reference. Also, could not help but think Steamboat VS Omega.
In an alternate timeline, the Blood Dragon manages the American Dragon and maybe the rest of the BCC. His whole schtick being that he's this really nice dude... that will inflict incredible violence and twist you into a pretzel with a smile.
Ricky is a legend among legends. I love how he asks do you know more about Hawaii now? He's like "Still don't" This is why Ricky is the best babyface ever
Ox Baker was in the movie Escape From New York and I had the honor of speaking to him on the phone once. He was in character the entire time and it was scary 😅
“Your love making skills are probably inadequate.” Ricky Steamboat 😂😂😂
Came to make this same comment, that part sent me 😂
Ah this is so much better without Sonjay laughing at every single thing in the background
Steamboat caught RJ off guard for just a slight moment.
RJ: would you like to apologize to the Briscoe family?
Steamboat: no. I’ll tell you why.
😅

Yes that's RJ City's whole schick. This is less a interview and more a skit.

I love Ricky, he's my idol.
However, Steamboat didn't have a GOAT career like the Hogans, the Flairs, the Austins and others.
"Would you like to apologize to the Brisco family?"
"No."
That one got me

Ricky reading the promos was gold.

RJ "He's a quick learner." 😂😂😂
You can tell he doesn't quite get the show but The Dragon is giving some really cool answers and stories about his time in pro wrestling

Back in 1985, when WWF started to air in Oregon, Ricky Steamboat was the very first wrestler that I saw. He has always been my favorite wrestler.
Loved Ricky as a kid, one of my favs. Love listening to his stories. Thanks RJ for bringing him on!

RJ hitting us with the Zoobilee Zoo reference! I feel seen!
I know, right? I haven't heard anyone reference that old show maybe ever.
"hey, what are you, buddy? A piece of shit or something?" is an all-timer line
😂 I am sure that half of those villain insults kicked in his head at some point, but I just love how steamboat just rolls with it.
There was such a long pause after asking him about the American Dragon I almost thought Ricky was going to pull a fast one and mention Jake Long.
It smelt like a barn 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Ricky Steamboat a constant class act with RJ
Ricky Steamboat once carried a broom to a four star match in an armory in Decatur, GA. Somehow RJ proved to be a more difficult opponent.
Steamboat looks like he's gonna kill RJ by the end of this 😂
Pound for pound one of the all time greats no question
Now this man, this man a living breathing legend! So much respect for Ricky Steamboat!
This has been added to the greatest moments in wrestling. Ricky, thank you so much for taking the time to do this. RJ, a pleasure as always ❤
I've said repeatedly that RJ is in the top 3 of interviewers that I've had the pleasure of listening to and this cements it. Really great episode.
he is terrible
Man Ricky is such a likeable dude. It was fun seeing him give pretty legit answers to everything.
Once again RJ produces magic. These are still the best thing AEW produce weekly.
It's impossible to not like that man.
Ricky Steamboat is one of my favorite guest commentators ever, just the perfect balance of gravitas and love of the game. Love seeing him in AEW.

RJ is also one of the GOATs and a future HOFer.
Ricky "The Legend" Steamboat!

We need to create parallel universe travel to see a heel Ricky Blood
The amused contempt when he's asked about Puff.
The Dragons real name is Richard Blood. He could have been Dick Blood. 🤣🤣🤣

Ricky is a legend among legends. I love how he asks do you know more about Hawaii now? He's like "Still don't"
This is why Ricky is the best babyface ever
I love when RJ has the legends on! I still feel like we got cheated out of seeing a Sting episode.
Ox Baker these wrestling names. 😂
Ox Baker was in the movie Escape From New York and I had the honor of speaking to him on the phone once. He was in character the entire time and it was scary 😅
One of the best episodes!! Ricky is such a great story teller
Ricky feels like he should be sipping a glass of ice tea as he leans his head back and reminisces about his career lol
I could listen to Ricky Steamboat talk about old matches for hours.
“Technology has ruined the essence of what I’m here for” 😂 RJ is so antagonistic and I love it.
Love that Steamboat actually got real answers across amidst RJ’s schtick. RJ is great in these, but when the guest has something to say, let him do it
Dragon still looks young for his age! It's like his late 90s version with grey hair. And for some reason he sounds like his old rival Ric Flair.
It's not necessary to lie, but I'm glad it looks good
Really loved this interview, feel like Ricky had so many nuggets of wisdom that he didn’t expand on! Slow down RJ!!
About time you had another good interview.
7:10 I never thought about it, but this was the ‘Zoo and Barnyard Animal Era’ 🤣🤣
I was thinking about Matilda, the British Bulldog.
You can see RJ just loving this.
This episode was wonderful! RJ does amazing work. Hey EW is my favourite part of AEW.
Richard Blood is a perfect heel' s name
Ricky no-selling RJ's jokes. 🤣🤣🤣
I hope RJ City will interview Zack Sabre Jr next especially after his winning
Steamboat is awesome and such a true professional.
Richard 'Dragon' Blood is the legend

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat is a legend in the world of pro-wrestling I love him and this interview was very nice I liked it a lot 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️🐉🐉🐉
I would have liked to see Steamboat as a heel. You should had him do a Rick Rude type pre match promo.

RJ got Ricky Steamboat to turn heel and I’m all for it!
When he was reading quotes, I thought one was going to be "Let me tell you Brother"
God I love Ricky. He's a national treasure. Well done, RJ City! xo

Ricky Steamboat turned heel, my Sunday is already complete 😅
A great episode, no notes 10/10.
Heel Steamboat would've been amazing. DAMN YOU, PAT PATTERSON! 😂
This episode was amazing 🤣🤣

"Look at what you missed out on Pat Patterson.... No Diddy"
Hope this show never ends
That last one about Dick Blood and Bloody Dick made me spit out my Dr. Pepper Zero....brother..... 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yet another highlight of my week!
I like how Ricky treated this like a shoot interview. Lol

People forget that Ricky's wife nearly made him turn heel by proxy because she was so unpopular 😅
All throughout Ricky steamboat wrestling career he was never a bad guy (heel)💯
